L A Nails

This place is okay. My best friend loves this place because of the eyebrow waxing. I have only gone a few times for both manicures and pedicures. The services were nothing great but I go back when I need something done quick and cheap.
My latest trip was for a fill in and I went last minute right before the salon was closing and I also had to be somewhere within the next hour. She knew this and didn’t rush the job but got me out in time. The services weren’t anything great but I appreciate the customer service.

DO NOT COME TO THIS SALON. I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve been coming to this salon frequently due to convenience and cheap pricing, but you get what you pay for. I’m from MD and the salon I go to back at home has spoiled me when it comes to service and cleanliness. I’ve never had a great feeling about L A but for the price I didn’t care about the half ass job. The final straw for me was when I went into the salon two Saturdays ago. I had taken off an old set of nails a few days prior to going in on Saturday, but my nails were in good condition for a full set. They were not soar or painful at all. I’ve been getting my nails done for close to 4 years now so I know what my natural nails can handle. You never have to make an appointment with this salon just walk in at anytime. I came in a little after 6 before closing and I was worried that they would rush but they didn’t. The only available person was the older women. I dreaded having to go to her but I needed my nails done for an event that night. Every time I have gone to her I’ve been nipped or cut and all she would do is laugh. She’s very rough and impatient. After sitting down she filed and buffed my nails with the electric filer (which I will later regret). She applied the tips and after telling her that I wanted long nails, she cut them extremely short and I told her I would not pay an extra $ 10. She immediately put her file down and backed away prepared to argue with me about price and length, I told her to continue and to not start anything. She then proceeded to speak her native language to everyone in the salon which made me uncomfortable. She did a sloppy job with the acrylic but I didn’t complain, too late to turn back. The man in the salon that I personally liked applied my polish. He’s very neat and I’ve never left with messy hands after he’s painted them. I picked a brown polish that he had to apply 5 coats of because the polish was filled with so much thinner, as are most of the other polishes. After the 2^nd coat the older women kept looking over at him and she started speaking to him. Almost as if she was asking why he had to keep applying more polish. I was very upset leaving after paying for a $ 22 job that should have only cost me $ 10 – 15 at most. That night I had no issue. It wasn’t until I woke up the next morning with a throbbing pain in my ring finger. I had never felt a pain like it before and every time my finger came in contact with something I felt like I wanted to cry! The pain only got worse so on Monday I bought some acetone, soaked the nail off and wasn’t surprised to find an infection. I’m still recovering from it but the pain was unbearable. After calling the salon the only response I got was the I need to «take better care of [my] nails» and that «there’s nothing [they] can do about it.» After taking off the infected nail, within 2 days 2 more nails broke on their own and the rest just looked like crap. You couldn’t even tell I had just got them done. 3 of my nails have lifted from my nail bed completely and will take 6 – 18 months to heal. I will never step foot in that place again. If you enjoy rude service, unclean tools and sloppiness, this is the place for you.

Came on a Saturday at 9:20 and it was a ghost town. They are supposed to open at 9am. Frustrated with the hours but I like the pedicures and waxing. Manicure took a long time as there was an issue with the gel color I selected. Two ladies attentively tried to fix my nails before I just selected a different color. They are thorough and make sure you are satisfied which I appreciate. OK in my book. Better than most with customer service and at a reasonable price. Can’t beat that!

This is the only place in DC I go to do pedicures. They take time with you and strive for perfection. Regardless of how your feet look when you walk in they really hook you up. And the mother makes my eyebrows arch perfectly like a rainbow. I make it here every other week!

Walked in on a Beautiful Sunday Morning and was greeted by a warm friendly face. Service was excellent and they seemed to truly care about what the client wanted. Prices are reasonable and the facility is clean. Will definitely return here!
