Lamode fascinates me, and I can’t believe I am the first to review this place. Think about Claire Huxtable and the type of clothing she wore on The Cosby Show, and you have a pretty good idea of what they are selling over here at Lamode. I walk by this store a couple times a day, and I am also fascinated that it is typically pretty busy, even though they are selling fashion from 1986. Everyone loves the 80s, I guess. I must confess that I have gone in here to browse more than ten times. They always advertise sales, and I figure why the heck not take a peek. I’ve purchased earrings here, and I wear them quite a bit. They are kind of ridiculous earrings, but I like them anyway. For my next purchase, I am eying a feather hat or a puffy cocktail dress. This place gets three stars because it has managed to stay in business, despite remaining firm in its stance that fashion from 2011 has no place in the world. But this isn’t exactly worth a trip downtown, dealing with parking and all that. If you work in the area and have a penchant for brooches or buckled heels, by all means give it a shot.
