I bought a package of 6 treatments and only used this location, have been very happy with it. The technician is experienced and friendly, and she even waited for me when I was late a few times(OK, at least half of my appointments). Customer service people have always been helpful on the phone and I haven’t had any problems scheduling appointments or changing them in advance. They use a pretty strong laser, the only one that is FDA approved for hair-removal purposes; it essentially superheats the melanin in your hair, damaging and hopefully destroying your offending hair follicles after several treatments(that’s why it doesn’t work on blonde hairs). I’m not going to lie– it really hurts in the moment that you’re zapped– but the pain doesn’t linger at all. I’m pretty average white lady, my skin both tans and burns in the sun(sometimes the other way around), but my skin wasn’t burned at any point in these treatments and I’m really happy with the results. Talk to them first about your expectations and what their treatment is capable of, but I recommend this place if you want to give laser hair removal a try.

Lempira B is right they burned my skin as well! I had been getting treatments done for a year at the American Laser Center in Philadelphia and never had any problems. I had previously purchased a package from Laser Perfect before moving out of DC. I was visiting and went to the M Street location in DC to get my treatment. I felt great discomfort as if she had the setting on incorrectly and had burned my skin. I informed the woman and she told me I wasn’t burned and gave me an ice pack. I was still in pain and she told me I could leave with the ice pack. After I returned home, the pain continued and within a few days I had scabs all over my face. I called Laser Perfect to inform them and rather than apologizing, they said that is the risk I agreed to take having purchases the package. I said that I would no longer utilize my remaining treatments and they did not offer to refund me. Most alarming, I went to a doctor after who said that you don’t treat burns with an ice pack and that I should not be putting ointment on the scabs as the Laser Perfect consultant had told me to do after calling them on how to treat the scabbing. They are clearly not trained: 1) The women doing the treatment should have known than to put my settings so high I would get burned 2) When I told her I was in pain and that I think I was burned and have never felt like this after laser before, she should have been trained well enough to recognize that she did indeed burn me rather than telling me it wasn’t a burn and handing me an ice pack 3) Their customer service wrongly advised me on how to treat the burn. And they could not even bother to fit me in immediately to see the wound in person and were offering me dates a week away even after I said I would be out of town Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere

If I had checked with the Better Business Bureau before forking over a fortune to Laser Perfect for laser hair removal, I would have discovered that they’ve received dozens of complaints, and an «F» rating from the BBB. Laser Perfect will burn your skin(they burned mine). Their claims that all treatments are provided by «certified medical professionals» is patently false. They also do not refund for any reason, and will forfeit your treatment if you give less than 48 hours notice, even if you are cancelling because of illness. ABC News did an investigative report on the shadiness of Laser Perfect, including the fact that medical director Gil Segev made up his credentials, and that the staff assume phony identities when clients call to complain. I’d post the link, but it’d probably get flagged. Google«Laser Perfect ABC7 News» for the link and a full transcript.
