Good but not great. For the hype of it online, I was expecting a lot more especially because I’m all for the big hearty breakfast meals. Staff spoke limited english but enough to get by. Found them very funny and friendly. I ordered a waffle, bacon, and eggs. It was good but not great. The coffee was not bad, but it was average. Was disappointed they didn’t keep warming up the cup, but were still happy to do so when I asked.

We recently dined here while visiting DC last weekend. I was in the mood for breakfast food and it was within walking distance from our hotel. The diner was busy and tiny, so we had a bit of a wait before being seated at the bar. The food came out fast and fresh and our waitress was very attentive throughout our visit, especially considering how busy it was. The food was good and reasonably priced. I had a couple pancakes, scrambled eggs, home fries and a side of grits, all of which satisfied my craving. My boyfriend enjoyed his chicken and waffles very much and my sister seemed happy with her meal as well.

I’m a huge Waffle House fan so I decided to give licolns a try. After waiting with the line out the door me and girlfriend were seated and placed our order. The food was ok and the service was ok. It’s not bad but its not great. If you’re hungry for breakfast and your original option is unavailable this is a cool alternative. Not a 1st choice.

The wait was well worth it! These people work hard and fast to make us happy! Our chicken and Waffles tasted so amazing! Not as greasy as you would expect for fried chicken and the waffle a bit crunchy on the outside but fluffy on the inside! So good! We will be back next time we are in DC.

This dive diner is a good place to go for fast service and OK food. It was at a convenient location for my boss and I so we stopped by here yesterday. I got the western omelette and dry toast. The toast was a bit soggy and my omelette was mediocre. Smaller portions than most other breakfast places, almost ordered another two eggs.

Highly recommend ! Friendly and quick made fresh! Try the waffle chicken wings! This place is a short walk to White House and right across from the ford theatre.

Good food, not really worth the 45 min wait on a Saturday morning however. The atmosphere is typical diner style — service was good — food decent.

4 of us came here for some hungover pancakes on a Saturday morning and were able to sit right away and were served quickly. We had a really nice and friendly server, and the food came out fast. A nice hole in the wall kinda feel to it. We all had the pancakes and we all enjoyed them but from looking at what everyone else got-the fried chicken looked like the go-to move. The only thing that wasn’t great about this place is that it is a bit crammed in and when I went downstairs to use the bathroom it smelled pretty funky. Having been already hungover that didn’t help a lot… but hey you’re paying for the food here-not the atmosphere. Will definitely be back for more!

I just ordered food from here today and was left completely satisfied! First of all, the banana pancakes are amazing! I cannot stop raving about these amazing pancakes! I also ordered home fries(which are slightly smashed potatoes) and scrambled eggs! They weren’t as tasty but once I added some pepper and salt, it did the trick! All for around $ 12, I mean what else could I ask for! Especially since these are well sized portions! The place itself may be somewhat small and not so nice looking but the customer service was great! I ordered my food around 6am for pickup and when I arrived a few minutes later, it was ready! I was greeted by a very nice woman at the register which definitely made my morning since I was getting off of work and most people aren’t so friendly that early. But not here, it was just a friendly environment-loved it! As for parking, I would recommend people to park on E street! Closes strip of parking is located between 10th and 12th street! It’s paid parking starting at 7am. But it’s worth it, I definitely recommend this place!

Heard mixed reviews about this place«good food, brusque staff», but the server who would have taken our«to go» order happily seated us when we decided to eat in. And we are SO glad we did. We finished tour of Ford’s Theater and walked a few steps and enjoyed a late breakfast. Yummy waffle, hot coffee, cold milk, tasty sausage, and perfectly cooked«over medium» eggs. Food was out in 5 minutes straight from griddle, plated, and to our spot at the counter. Forgot to take photo of food and an empty plate would not have showed anything but some yolk that the fork did not pick up. We did get a photo of our smiling server.

This place is a DC landmark! It’s not super big and is generally filled with tourists(regardless of the season). I usually just grab a breakfast sandwich to go, but I’ve found it’s helpful to call ahead the order. I’ve had lunch from here once and wasn’t keen to do lunch again. I’ll stick to breakfast.

What a great little busy place! I came in on a Saturday afternoon and was seated immediately. The server took my drink orderror and allowed me to make my choices. I settled on the chicken and waffles with egg. It was served fast and was absolutely delish. You may be taken aback because its a hole in the wall. if you’re looking for intimacy… this ain’t the place. It’s fast paced but you still get to enjoy your meal. All kinds of folk come into the spot so come as you are clothing wise. You’ll enjoy a great meal. SN: there are no alcoholic beverages, aka mimosas.

«I am on a chicken and waffle adventure» — Lincoln’s Waffle Shop. No. Just No. It was like a Buttermilk Eggo waffle and some KFC chicken. Don’t get me wrong, I like Eggos and KFC, but expectations can do something to your mind, and«underwhelmed» is what happened to my stomach. Seriously, what’s the hype about? Did they pay people to talk this place up at every metro station? Because that’s what I felt happened. It’s not disgusting. Just nothing special.

Honestly I don’t even know where to start. I love waffles more than basically anything. Everyone in DC told me about this place so I felt obligated to come check out the«legendary waffles» and see what the fuss was about. My boyfriend and I came on a Friday morning, about 11AM. The only redeeming thing about this place was the waffle. So that much didn’t disappoint. The waffle was on the thinner side, but nice and hot, crispy, buttery– so good. The waffle itself was excellent. I ordered chicken & waffles, and the chicken was also really good. It was very hot, fresh, just the right amount of breading, great fried chicken. The food was good, the service was not. But literally every other thing about our experience was awful. We waited for seats which was fine, but we were seated at a large table that had not yet been cleaned. I don’t mean wiped down– there were half drank cups, stacks of dirty plates, used napkins, crumbs, sticky spots– everything. Somewhat grossed out but giving them the benefit of the doubt(they were busy!) I waited for it to be cleaned. The plates and mess sat in front of us for nearly five minutes before it was bussed. Yikes. The wait for the food was a little long, but understandable due to how busy it was. However, the chicken came out a full 5 minutes before the waffle. I appreciate wanting to serve food while it’s hot– but the timing was so off, especially as chicken & waffles are meant to be eaten together. Finally,(the nail in the coffin for me) it took a full 20 minutes for us to get our bill. We asked our server five different times for the bill, which he heard and acknowledged, and then continued seating new customers, bringing out food, taking orders– completely ignoring us. We were all understanding smiles(‘Minnesota Nice’ at work) and trying to be polite as we waited but man, it was tough. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you’re ordering to go.

Sadly, I think the best words to describe Lincoln’s Waffle Shop is ‘hot mess’. Located across the street from Ford’s Theatre, this tiny diner has survived on years of tourists passing by and word of mouth by locals, but in reality, it’s unfortunately nothing special. Arriving just prior to the lunchtime rush, my boyfriend and I got seats in the far corner of the restaurant. The dishes and utensils from the previous customers were still cluttered on the bar but were quickly cleaned off by our waitress. She handed us menus and then disappeared — which we later found out was so that she could make a personal phone call in the basement. In the meantime, a few more parties were seated in her section, and we all ended up waiting. The presumed manager quickly noticed the absence of service and came over to see if we had communicated our order. Even after explaining that no one had ordered or seen the waitress for about 10 minutes, the manager just walked away and avoided our end of the diner. When our waitress did come back upstairs, she quickly took the orders of everyone who had arrived, but nearly missed us until we caught her attention. In the rush of taking orders and delivering food, however, she ended up grabbing a man’s recently delivered, untouched waffle and tossed it in the trash. When our food did arrive, it was just ordinary. Named as a waffle shop, the waffles were light and airy, with nothing notably special or different about them. All in all, it was a pretty disappointing meal after requiring such an effort to get. If you are looking for a hole in the wall, DC original, this may fit the bill, but their food is just the same as anything you could find in diners across DC or the US.

I never knew this place existed! Lincoln’s Waffle Shop is a great spot for a very affordable breakfast, lunch, or brunch right in downtown DC. Based on all the photos of Hanoi and Northern Vietnam around the restaurant, I guess this place is being run by a Vietnamese family? The staff all have a really fun and lovely attitude making this place a true pleasure to stop in for a quick or relaxed meal. The food is solid, nothing super special, but solid breakfast food as well as some lunch food, like burgers, if you don’t want to eat breakfast for lunch. We got there right when they were closing but they let us get some take-away. We figured trying the waffle would be good. It came with chicken wings/legs, eggs, and bacon. The waffle was more of a thin waffle than a thick one. It was actually really good! Definitely recommended! I’ve never had chicken with waffles before, but it was very good. The eggs and bacon were pretty normal. Overall, a great place for brunch on a budget right in downtown DC!

A staff member at the Marriot recommended this spot as a good casual place to try. This is a legitimate diner. On the wall next to our table was a Chinese calendar and post it notes stuck up from previous guests. The waffles were great, warm, crispy and golden brown. The home fries were just a bunch of mashed potatoes reheated in a frying pan. I wasn’t expecting a fancy place, but I kind of question the cleanliness. There was a slight bad smell to this restaurant.

This was a brunch move with my homie Kendra W. Washington mag featured a plethora of brunch spots that offered extended hours due to the MLK holiday. None of them peaked our interest, desired budget, or matched how much we wanted to spend compared to how much food we would get. Lincoln Waffle shop came up in my trusty Unilocal search. Ken heard of the place but it was my first time. We made the trek from Brandywine to downtown dc for waffles. Ever since going to Cali and visiting Roscoes, no place has been able to scratch my waffle fix until this place. I don’t even like waffles lol but Roscoes turned me into one. Steven was our server. He was very personable, fun, attentive and accurate. The waffle wasn’t roscoes but it was definitely what I needed. The chicken wings were good too. Just add hot sauce. The hot chocolate was very delish with free refills! The places is set up like a diner. I will be back.

Très bonne adresse de ce «diner» à la déco vintage. Très bon accueil, petits prix et waffles au top! Parfait pour un déjeuner rapide mais de qualité.
