A quirky cozy space, reminiscent of european pubs + a fantastic beer list + extremely funny comedians = a perfect night out. I was totally impressed by the quality of the comedians last night, you can probably hear me snort laughing in the video they took. The smaller space is excellent for comedy as it gives you an intimate feel and with the L in the seating, one of the comedians was even able to work in the«sides of the room» against each other. I highly recommend coming to a show here.

I went to the LYGO comedy show at Desperados and had the best time. Most of the comedians were great, the headliner was exceptional, and the host was hilarious. After the show, my face was sore from laughing so much. This is a perfect way to spend an evening with friends or possibly a third date. Highly recommended!

The LYGO show at Desperados was an impressive, high quality show at a small intimate venue. The scene reminded me of the type of stories you hear from your parents when they say things like«Yeah! I saw Robin Williams before he got big in a tiny little shack of a restaurant, he was hilarious!» LYGO has some really outstanding performers from who knows where(does it matter?), and Desperados has surprisingly good food. The ticket and experience were worth far more than the price of the ticket. I will be going again.

I saw a show at Desperados with Sampson McCormick as the headliner, and it was great! There are some hit-and-miss comics in the lineup, but by the end of the night my face hurt from laughing so much. If you like amateur comedy, you’ll definitely like these shows. If you’ve never been, this would be a good opportunity to try it. You will see much more honest, personal comedy in small venues like this than at big venues or on TV. For ten bucks, you can’t go wrong. The venue is good, too. Desperados transforms into a comedy club when the LYGO show comes, so there’s no noise to compete with and no distractions. The staff quietly handles drink and food orders without interrupting the show.

I’m usually pretty skeptical of stand-up comedy shows, and honestly have relatively little experience with them(aside from Louis CK and Aziz specials on Netflix instant watch), but I have to say this was a lot of fun! All the comedians were hilarious(especially the emcee and the headliner) and the audience was really enjoying themselves. It was the perfect way to spend a Sunday evening, and I’ll definitely be back soon! I highly recommend trying it out!

As an amateur local DC comedy show goer, I enjoyed adding LYGO’s Codmother show to my repertoire on Wednesday. A few girlfriends of mine went via the Living Social $ 10 for 2 special, and it was an unbeatable deal. There was a wide variety of comedians, the location was stellar, and the crowd was fantastic. Not to mention pretty quick service at the bar. Great comedy and great times! Definitely recommend checking out a LYGO show if you’re looking for a good laugh!

A few friends and I purchased tickets to a show at Codmother through the Living Social deal. With the deal, you got two tickets for $ 10. It ended up being a sold out show and this particular venue is a bit small, so you definitely need to get there early to get a good seat. For the most part, the comedians were funny. I liked some of them more than others. It just depends on your sense of humor. It was also nice that it was set up so that there were only a few comedians scheduled. Other comedy shows in DC seem to let in an unlimited number of acts so they go on forever. At this show each comedian was able to perform for a decent amount of time and it still ended at a reasonable hour. The bartender was also great. He was friendly and poured strong drinks. My only complaints are that the drinks might be a bit pricey for this type of bar and the hand dryer in the ladies room was broken. Other than that it was a great night!

I bought the living social with some friends and we went on a Wednesday night. It was very funny and well worth the $ 10 living social voucher. It was packed — so get there with plenty of time if you are with a large group. The comedy is a little raunchy, so if that’s not your thing — I’d skip this. Overall, great night out and very funny comedians and emcee.

I should preface this review by saying my friend is the host of this show so I already think it is amazingly funny. My biases aside, it is definitely still a great show! I bought my ticket(two for the price of one) through LivingSocial and got to pick a date over the course of a month. You have to pick your date early, though, because they fill up fast! It is also a really small venue so get there early if you’re going with a group like we did. The comedians were good, some better than others, but I think that all depends on your sense of humor and how they play off of the crowd. I like that it was only a few comedians because I’ve been to other shows where there were like 30 and I wasn’t a fan. In short, I would definitely go back again(even if my friend wasn’t hosting). Also, the bartender pours a good drink so that is always a plus! That could also be because he told me he was Russian so I said«Nostrovia!» when he gave me my drink and he instantly loved me. Feel free to give it a try and see if it works for you!
