Took two dresses in for alteration and they came back unaltered. They changed their name to 4U Tailor and Dry Cleaning but this is the same cleaners and location as Macdee. I simply asked for a refund since I didnt work near this location anymore– that was a month ago and 2 phone calls ago. Disputed the charge, promised them a bad review, will also contact the BBB and file a complaint.

I did not care for the service. desultory is the best word i can use to describe it. and the prices are considerably higher than other cleaners in the area. why bother?

THISPLACEISTHEWORST! A friend recommended it for altering. I brought in a bridesmaid dress three weeks before I needed it to be taken in on one side(it was a one shoulder deal and laying weird). They instead took it in two sides the day before I needed it mind you, making it too small then when forcing me into it and breaking the zipper after I insisted that they fix it by 10 am the next day, they told me it would cost extra for a new zipper. COSTEXTRA! I wasn’t having that and insisted that they fix it and not charge me for the zipper. They fixed the alteration(sort of) and said they fixed the zipper and didn’t need a new one. When I put the dress on the wedding day(no time to try it on there) the zipper broke and fell off the dress with barely a zip up. Long story shirt I had to be sewn into the dress. Did I also mention they didn’t fix the lining? To top it off they charge my credit card they had on file over $ 200 for this crap job. Needless to say I fought that UNAUTHORIZED charge and won.

So the owner of this place sent me a message stating that an employee must have left my shirt on the press too long and burned it up. Then they tell me that they can provide a store credit, but since I don’t live in DC that I can give it to a friend in DC. WTF?! Look I appreciate you trying to rectify the situation, but seriously how does this help me? Anyway, fellow Unilocalers, know that if this place destroys your clothes they will give you a store credit instead of taking responsibility for their mistake by offering to replace your clothing. I didn’t even get to wear this shirt before they ruined it.

THISPLACEWILLRIPYOUOFF! Never going back! The story: I needed a 25 lb. bag of clothing washed quickly and folded while I was at work so I dropped it off at Mac Dee Cleaners. It was a little odd that the desk attendant didn’t weigh the bag when I dropped off, but I was in hurry, so I left with just a receipt in my hand listing the time and date of my drop-off. When I returned the next day to pick up the laundry, the owner tried to charge me $ 125DOLLARS! I’ve taken this same bag full of laundry to other cleaners and it has never been more than $ 35/$ 40! Outrageous! I tried reasoning with the owner to have the price reduced, as I had no idea that it would be that pricey, but he ripped the clean bag of clothes out of my hands and stashed it behind the desk until I came up with the money. What a rip-off! I strongly urge you to avoid this place at all costs unless you have $ 125 to spend on two loads of laundry.
