Max Major – Mind Reading and Magic Show

We recently had Max invited for our company’s winter event. He had every one mesmerized and hypnotized for over an hour. Even the most extremely non-​believers were impressed! He is a must watch!

I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to ruin the show for everyone else, but when my card was put down on the chair in front of Max Major, it was right side up, so he saw what he supposedly «guessed» was what I drew. While he is entertaining, that did it for me.

My first «magic show» experience exceeded my very high expectations. Max is extremely entertaining, charming, and easy on the eyes. The Bull Run Winery venue was awesome, making the show feel very intimate. I have already recommended the show and venue to several friends. If you’re on the fence about going, don’t hesitate!

Saw this show in July in a small vineyard setting. How does he do it? Fun, entertaining and not your common magic show. Lots of audience participation which made for some good laughts.

We went out to one of the shows out at the Winery at Bull Run. The show had a high potential to be lame, but because it got good reviews online, we decided to give it a shot! So glad we did. The show was very entertaining and we are still left wondering how he was able to pull off some of his «illusions.» (Not tricks, that’s something a whore does for money).
Max Major is a great performer and takes the stage with confidence. For being a local performer, I was impressed by his level of skill. I only wished that the show was longer! Would definitely go to another show. Why only 4 out of 5 stars? I think 5 star reviews are usually fake. As other reviewers have said, this is a great venue to take friends, significant others or family/​friends from out of town.

A friend and I saw Max’s show at the Winery at Bull Run on Friday the 18^th and it was great! I was a little skeptical that I’d be entertained for 90 minutes but Max was funny and as another Unilocaler mentioned, the skinny jeans were a plus. I digress…
The show was thoroughly entertaining from the start. He didn’t come across as a schmoozy magical dork but he explained the science behind his performance which made it even more interesting. He also picked from all over the audience for participation and kept things random to demonstrate his skills.
This was a a fun night (the wine helped too) — we’ll definitely be catching another show :)

For the Unilocaler who mentioned that there was no hypnosis in the show, I have to politely disagree. I was absolutely hypnotized by how tight Max Major’s skinny jeans are. Hipsters beware, he will put you to shame!
Back before I was Community Manager or even Unilocal Elite I used to enviously read other Unilocalers reviews when they got exclusive access to Max Major shows in the city. My cousins and I used to geek out on magician shows as a kid so when the opportunity came for me to check out one of Max’s show I jumped on it!
I bought one of my besties who is not as easily amused as I am but I sneaked a few peeks at her during the show and definitely saw some O faces of wonderment.
The show has the elements of a good time:
Gore — Russian Roulette with a staple gun? Your night immediately got more exciting.
Celebrity — I won’t spoil it for you but be prepared for a celebrity guest appearance.
Laughs — Max is super funny and down to earth. Even my ADD was kept in check for two hours!
Education — Get schooled on the art of psychology by the mentalist himself
Surprise — So… many…surprises…
and if all else fails…
Alcohol — If you are lucky enough to get pulled on stage, you can partake in whiskey shots with the dashing host.
It’s no wonder he was voted Best Performance Artist in the Washington City Paper several years in a row!

My sis and I enjoyed this 90-​minute show at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. We were hoping to see a bit of hypnosis. No such luck, and you won’t walk so amazed that you’ll be thinking or talking about it afterwards. But, Max Major is an entertaining guy. And his show makes for a good change of pace.

So I randomly had a night off and saw a Unilocal ticket giveaway for a mind reader. MIND READER!!! Do you want to read my mind? I don’t even like listening to the voices in my mind!
Kimberly S. Hooked us up with second row seats! Me being the heckler that I am, I had to tone it down because this guy was also a magician /​hypnotist. Nothing good could come from that. I mean who wants to have a subliminal message put into their head to be triggered by a random word or phrase like… «Hey let’s do a shot»! I would be screwed!
I sat silently as the show began. Max Major was well seasoned as he has been doing this for 18 uears! (The guy looked like he was 30). He scanned the crowd and really interacted with everyone. And then it hit me. Facial recognition. Body language. This guy picked the «Happy and Smiling faces» for specific «Mind Reading» tricks. If you smile a lot, more than likely you will not have a Poker Face. The body language tricks /​mannerisms that he used were pretty good.
What I will never get over was the illusion of Max Major shredding the first section of the USA Today and magically putting it together! Sounds hard but I am sure there is a logical answer. On that note… I need to get another newspaper before my roommate wakes up!

Really terrific evening. Max was easygoing and awesome all at once! Venue was too warm but the show was great.

We just saw Max’s show at the Winery at Bull Run (a beautiful venue & great wine!). It was truly fantastic, very entertaining and an exciting show. Max is very engaging with his audience and the individual guests, who had the chance to «help» him onstage during a few of his acts. The evening was a real highlight.

This was an unforgettable night. I was mystified by all of Max’s «tricks.» He was gregarious from start to finish, and I did not want the performance to end!!! Thankful for The Winery at Bull Run as it is a great venue. (Quite warm, though.) I shared my experience with friends who are eager to see him, and I can’t wait to share the Max Major THINK show with them.

After seeing Max perform a few teaser magic tricks at a party I attended, I decided to go see his full length show at The Winery at Bull Run. I’m so glad I did because it was truly a unique and entertaining experience. Max is so charismatic and engaging and the magic tricks he does are unbelievable!
I highly recommend Max’s show for anyone planning a fun outing with a significant other, friends, and/​or family. I definitely plan to attend his show again in the near future, as I’ve heard he is scheming new material:)

I first saw Max doing some roaming magic tricks at an expo and knew I wanted to see his whole show so I took some friends and family to his recent performance at *The Winery at Bull Run.
EVERYONE loved it! He is so charismatic the whole audience is included and engaged. His easygoing banter makes the show fresh and spontaneous while keeping him friendly and approachable. (It doesn’t hurt that his deep v-​necks remind me that he was voted DC’s hottest bachelor.)
I find myself still thinking about the different tricks and talking to new people about it. I keep wondering «How did he do it?» This is not your average magic show. He uses psychology and mind reading so the show is always unique. I can definitely understand why he has been named DC’s Best Performing Artist for three years in a row. I can’t wait until his next show!
*The Winery at Bull Run is a great venue and well worth the drive from DC.

Had family in town and bought tickets to see Max Major perform his Mind Reading and Magic Show at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. Awesome performance and venue! Max did an excellent job engaging his audience and transitioning from trick to trick.
Definitely well worth the ticket price and there’s nothing like his show in the Washington DC area. Highly recommended!

«Max Major» kindly volunteered his services to emcee a reception with over 200 guests at the American Red Cross’s headquarters. It was a wonderful evening, where Max captivated the guests with a few well timed tricks that got everyone talking. We had a tight schedule for remarks and presentations, and Max stuck to that timeline and quickly adapted to last-​minute changes. He made it all look smooth and polished. He charmed our guests and put them at ease, while keeping the tone dignified. I really appreciated how much preparation and work he volunteered into making this event a great success in supporting the work of the Red Cross. Thank you, Max Major!
