This is a small jewel located in the Georgetown area. The price is attractive and the portion size is ample. We ordered lamb and minced chicken kabobs and both were very juicy and delicious. The rice they offer as side was pretty good too. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area which would not make you wait like some of the over priced options nearby that serve mediocre food.

Don’t let the address fool you, I’ve walked up to Connecticut Ave and shook the locked doors before finding out that the entrance is around the corner on N street. Now that that’s been said I think the food here is okay. I’ve had the combo 1 and 2 and they’re good but nothing spectacular. The joojeh and kubideh are pretty good, not much seasoning and the chicken and beef are pretty unseasoned so it’s just kind of there. The green sauce is interesting, but feel like there’s a little something missing here.

ASHGHAAL. Way too pricey for what they give you along with the horrible service. The«manager» is just yelling at every customer, not bothering to put at least a fake smile. Come to California and taste a real koobideh to scale. Their food was not only dry but with a bizarre flavor. The only thing good I say was the bread they made.

What an awesome experience at a genuinely ethnic restaurant. Food was so amazing as was the experience.

I’m from California and of course there are a lot of Persian/Iranian restaurants there, but even though this place is setup like a fast food, the food quality and taste tops the restaurants I’ve been to in LA, San Francisco, San Jose and Sacramento. I was there today with my cousin, and we are going back again tomorrow before we leave DC.

Always reliable. Chicken or lamb kabobs with rice or salad all delicious. The bread is always freshly baked, warm and fresh. All locations have the same high quality of food and service.

GETTHEKUBIDEH! that is all … Well it’s all you need to know. The button scolded me for trying to post such a short review, so I am going to say that while its address is on connecticut ave, the entrance is technically on the cross street. You’re welcome

This was my first time here. I got the spicy chicken place. The chicken wasn’t really spicy, but the quality and tenderness of the chicken was great. This a good spot for a quick lunch.

I wasn’t terribly hungry and perhaps that is why I was terribly picky about this meal… I have had various kabobs in my day… Afghan, Persian, Paki etc. so I have experience. Here goes: Rice — Loose, dry not greasy. I prefer raisins in my rice when I eat Mediterranean Chicken– fresh, big portions, seasoned well– I added salt-which is rare Yogurt Sauce– funky after taste(not the mint, something else) Salad– fresh The green sauce– lacking the normal punch of cilantro/vinegar I’m accustomed to. Perhaps this is because it was really supposed to just be salad dressing, but in other kabob places it’s a side condiment that is so good and versatile you’d put it on everything. Overall, I’d try it again. The service was great… Came in early, so I saw the lunch crowd pour in– be aware.

This place was awful. I ordered the beef shawerma and the meat tasted fake. The pita bread was hard, tasted old & retoasted. Not happy eating here. The rice was good though.

This was our last meal on our DC trip! The ladies working spoke to us for a long time. Food was great! Prices were low! Service was friendly! I’m definitely coming back when I visit the city again.

The lamb and chicken kabobs were some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Succulent, juicy, tender, flavorful. The shirazi salad however was ver underwhelming would not recommend it.

5 stars no questions asked. Amazing service, friendly staff, great portion sizes. Chicken and lamb are so tender and juicy it melts in your mouth. Pita is freshly made there and is perfectly soft and crunchy! You must get the«garlic sauce» it is so good with the meats and rice! Would come back anytime!

I eat here about once a month(office is nearby). It is highly advised to call in your order ahead of time as the line can be long at times(and once you order it is about a 6 – 10 minutes, depending on how busy they are etc.). I usually go with combo platter number two with salad(combination of one ground beef kabob and one chicken kabob with your choice of salad or rice). I am a huge kabob fan in general and Moby Dicks is consistently good(I have eaten at their various locations for years). They have fresh salad and the kabobs are cooked in a greek style(not as spiced up at some places). I enjoy Moby Dicks and plan on going every month or so, this is a solid Kabob place. I might say the prices are touch on the high side(maybe 1 – 3 $ above market rate for kabobs places).

So, I just love Moby Dick. I’ve suggested it to some who love it and others who think it’s OK, but I think it’s great and I could probably eat the chicken joojeh salad without feta, with a side of their flatbread and tzatziki just about every day.

Not sure everyone else is eating but this places makes meat… seasoned… and then over cooked. They put some rice and salad on the side and give you bread. I either don’t know what to order or I am just super critical. The meat was tough and I ordered the chicken and lamb. Nothing spectacular. Also… it was a cool summer night and they closed the patio. Which made no sense since they had people who were sitting outside and customers who obviously wanted to sit outside. This place is good for lunch but outside of that it’s not a memorable. I don’t know what other people are eating that I am not but this is another case where I wish I had what they had.

An excellent place to grab a plate of rice, vegetables, a small salad, and meat kebabs. Tucked into an unassuming small building, the restaurant has excellent juicy kebabs, touched with a slightly smokey flavor. The platters themselves are not at all small, so it’s best to show up either ready to share with a friend, or with an empty belly.

Four of us gorged on family-style kabobs for dinner with Platter 1. You get a giant foil dish filled with skewers of ground beef, chicken breast and lamb(or beef tenderloin) with rice, pita bread and yogurt sauce. Oh, and you get your choice of two appetizers(we did hummus and grape leaves). Needless to say, we were STUFFED. The lamb was the best. The ground beef, not so much maybe because of the seasoning and it was a tad dry, but overall we were happily satisfied. They also treated us very nicely. It’s an ‘order at the counter and pick up your food’ type of place. When we mentioned that one of us was celebrating a birthday, they gave us extra yogurt sauce, which was totally not necessary but very much appreciated.
