I absolutely love this shop. Everyone is very professional, the shop is clean and there is a comfortable atmosphere. No fussing, cussing or unsavory conversations. The barbers are dressed to impress(you may see Mr. Ray in a bowtie!) and they take the time to not only speak to the youth, they show them how they should be presenting themselves. I feel at home and often greet them with«Hey family». Although Ray and Nicky own the shop you know that the foundation is all God. If you don’t stop by, you are doing yourself a disservice. Don’t miss out!

I’m a frequent visitor to DC usually doing work in SE. I tried a few barbershops on MLK Ave. but didn’t get the classy feel I got from Tybee and Ray. Tybee cut my hair and did a great job. A little more expensive than I’m accustomed to for a bald head with clippers(not razor), but not an unreasonable cost at all. I highly recommend this shop over the others in this area. You definitely want to give them a try.

We took our 17month son to get his first haircut. It was a really good experience the barber Ray was very patient before cutting our sons hair he even shook his hand to build a relationship as well as let our son hold the clippers. This will definitely be the shop we take our son to for now on

Had Ray do my hair. Great haircut and wonderful atmosphere. Some shops rush you. You won’t get that here. Ray even told me about another barber shop closer to me. That itself speaks a lot about My 3 Sons

I was looking for a shop for my boyfriend’s 3 son’s that was family orientated and reasonably priced. What a great find to locate My 3 Sons Unisex Shop right in SE! Master Barber, Mr. Ray, did such a great job cutting the 7 year and 12 year old brothers, I plan to bring the 10 year old brother back very soon!!!

The establishment is always clean and professional. Both Ray and Tybee are Masters of their trade. Unlike some shops where I’ve only been interested in a sole barber and adamant about waiting for that one barber even when other booths were open, I wouldn’t hesitate to let either of the barbers at My 3 Sons cut my or my son’s hair. They’re both very capable. Everything from the basics to designs… with a very steady hand. And though the atmosphere is complemented by a welcoming camaraderie where everyone speaks and the conversation is never lacking, this doesn’t inhibit their ability to work quickly and effectively. They laugh and joke like any other barber shop staff but they don’t allow, or participate in, disrespectful or inflammatory exchanges… maintaining a perfect balance so I don’t leave the shop feeling like I was in the chair too long. For me, that’s a huge plus. Oh, before I forget, I have to add that THISSHOPISGREATFORMENANDWOMEN, not just because Nikki is there catering to all the salon aspects the clientele might need(relaxers, semi and permanent color, deep conditioning, roller wraps, eyebrow shaping, etc) but also because Tybee and Ray know how to give a clean, sharp edge to a man’s cut while finishing the female cuts with a softer feminine look. I could go on forever about all the attributes of this My 3 Sons location but I’ll finish by saying that I’ve been patronizing this business for almost 2 decades now and they’re always consistent. Professional atmosphere. Competent staff. Reasonable prices. Exceptional customer service. And they definitely know hair.

I moved here from Seattle a month ago. Finding a good barber is always a top priority when moving to the area(1. House, 2. Pizza, 3. Barber). So it’s pretty high up there for me. Like most, I turn to the internet to read reviews. Honestly, I found a few more barber shops within the area that had more reviews then this BS but what they didn’t seem to have the professional atmosphere I was looking for. Yeah, there are alot of good barbers out there but would you take your mother or grandmother to that barbershop??? Probably not! Ray’s is clean(bathroom spotless!!), NO cursing, NO loud music, NO routy bickering BETWEEN barbers regarding sports or politics and ABSOLUTELYNO talking on a cellphone while cutting my hair. This is the New Old School done right. Single mom’s, seasoned dads, Professional Brotha’s & Sista’s…this is your shop.

I just moved back into the area and I was looking for a barber for my son… I walked in and was able to be helped right away… Tybee asked me what I was looking for and I had no idea… My son sat down and got up looking like a different kid… I loved it… Everyone was so kind and the experience was amazing… I have found a new home for my kid to get his hair cut… I love it
