My friend and I went to brunch here and I felt our experience was just OK. It’s not exactly a great location for a «boozy brunch» although they do offer bottomless mimosas… they aren’t very quick to refill your glass. So, that’s something to keep in mind if you’re looking to get a nice buzz while dining. Nage is located in a hotel with ample street parking. Pretty easy to find. The place wasn’t crowded on a Sunday, but always make reservations just in case. We started off with their bottomless mimosas, which I did like that they offered a nice range of mimosas. I ended up just sticking with the original after a glass of the blood orange because it was fairly too sweet for my taste. The menu was pretty extensive for brunch and everything sounded great, so I had a hard time choosing. I ended up going with the Chesapeake Benedict and my friend opted for the Chicken & Waffles. The Chesapeake Benedict was executed well. There was chunks of lump crab and the hollandaise sauce was light and did not over power the taste of the crab. The side of potatoes were good, but nothing special. My friend didn’t say much about her dish, but she seemed to enjoy it! My main issue was the service. Our server wasn’t around much to check in on us or refill our glasses. Towards the end of our meal, we asked for another round of mimosas and he replied, «nope, we stop that at 2:30.» But then I saw him bring out glasses for other guests and take additional drink orders? Sure, we had been there for a while and I completely understand a time limit, but at least let us know that’s why you couldn’t serve us anymore. With so many brunch options in DC, there wasn’t much about Nage that really stood out. And with service like that, I could easily find another spot that handles brunch a lot better.

Average place with average food. Service poor to really bad. But it is worse than that. I went to dinner there in mid-December with two Brazilian business partners in DC on business. While the restaurant is supposed to stay open until 10 pm, at 9:30 pm it became apparent that the waiter wanted us to wrap it up and leave. He seemed clearly unhappy when we instead ordered dessert. While we were eating the dessert, he came back to inform us that«his manager» was warning us that soon they would start vacuuming around us. And they did start running the vacuum cleaner while were eating and talking… Pretty bad & disrespectful… But this was not all. I was paying using a Groupon certificate. When I received the bill I was a bit surprised by the total. Studying the bill, I realized 4 things, all bad, pointing to a possible scam: 1. they had charged me a 20% tip; 2. they had concealed the tip among the food items; 3. the tip was added into the total, of course, and thus I would pay tax on it(more $ in their pocket); 4. they had the audacity to still print a prominent TIP line below the total. No doubt some people not being attentive or not wanting to appear cheap in front of a date, for example, do not realize what is going on and tip on the already exorbitant 20% tip for poor service, poor food and being serenaded by a vacuum cleaner. It appears that the restaurant wants to recoup in devious ways whatever discount they supposedly give through Groupon to bring customers in. This smells like a scam operation. Stay away.

Delish brunch, everyone ordered the baked avocado egg dish and it was spot-on. Excellent service, really loved the waitress, and they even adjusted the temperature when we told them we were cold… Would definitely go back!

I am a platinum Marriott member, so I am in lots of Marriott hotel restaurants. this one looks really good… until you go in. I checked in around 3pm without having a chance to eat lunch, so I was pretty hungry. I walked in and found the waiters and their manager sitting in a booth BSing. The manager got up and explained that I missed lunch, was too early for dinner, but that happy hour at the bar was available… fair enough. I sat down and so did the manager, back in his booth. The bar was sticky and obviously needed wiped off, but the barmaid didn’t seem interested in it. I ordered some apps and a water and waited… she apparently didn’t hit enter because after yelling at the kitchen staff(who were actually working) she pushed a button and the check could be seen and heard coming out of the printer in the kitchen. Then, one of the waiters who just clocked out sat down next to me and ordered a drink. He was served(and not charged) long before my food arrived. The manager walked by a few times and said nothing. Apparently staff drinking at the bar is normal here. The first waiter was then joined by a waitress who also started drinking and talking way too loud about stuff that shouldn’t be discussed in a restaurant. In addition to lots of colorful language, she told everyone in earshot how her toilet had backed up, her landlord wouldn’t rush over to fix it, so she and her partner had to go to brunch so she could take a shit. Nice… went well with the wings I was having. The food was about a 3, but that’s the best thing I can say. This is a well appointed facility in a nice DC hotel, but is clearly poorly managed and full of lazy, inappropriate employees. Fail.

I skipped lunch today and was starving. So at 3:30pm I called and placed an order for their Sriracha Buffalo wings with buttermilk blue cheese dressing and an order of deviled eggs. I was slightly disappointed that I only got 5 wings for $ 10 and 4 deviled eggs(2 whole eggs) for $ 7 but the flavor of both was amazing. I liked that the deviled eggs did not have sugar in them(which most do) and the sauce for the wings were creamy and flavorful. I would definitely order again despite the small portions.

Nage is a very charming little spot. John was not our server, although I wish he was. He was very friendly and checked on us constantly. Our server was not so much. He seemed busy and uninterested. He did have school mustache though. My food was very well presented but everything was just okay. Nothing blew my mind or was Even what I would consider good. I had the French onion soup and the salmon. The salmon looked so pretty and had a nice crust on it but taste completely bland. Blah. At $ 30 a plate I at least want yummy.

We stayed at the Marriott and conveniently this restaurant was located downstairs to fill our hungry appetites. After a full day of walking around DC, I’m so glad decided to stop here for dinner. I was a bit worried at first if we were going to get any funny looks from pushing in a stroller, but the staff was nice and our 4-month-old baby wasn’t a big issue. We started off with fried calamari, which was tender and fried to a crisp perfection. Being from Texas, I really missed eating fresh seafood. I ordered the osso bucco with sweet potatoes, my husband had the braised short ribs and our friend had the duck leg; all of which were amazingly delicious! The meat fell off the bones and the sides were a great compliment. I had a margarita and it was okay; not the best I’ve had. The services was decent enough. It wasn’t top notch because I think our poor waiter had tons of tables to tend to. Overall I’m still going to give this place 5 stars because the food is excellent and I was very pleased that we decided to have dinner here considering it is DC after all and there’s tons of restaurants to choose from.

I think I have tried everything on the menu and yet to have find a dish I don’t enjoy. Their bottomless brunch is a great deal for bottomless mimosas with different fruit purées and juices that are very fresh. The kill it skillet is AMAZING and by far the best brunch offering. The happy hour is pretty good. Their craft cocktails are delicious and the charbroiled oysters are very reasonably priced and taste wonderfully. The wings are also very good, as is the cheese spread. I’ve always had great service. The only thing missing is a patio, but you can’t always get everything you want. Overall, a great place for brunch and happy hour. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

The experience at Nage was underwhelming, to say the least. I came in and it was quite busy but it didn’t seem like anyone was eating which was probably a bad sign. I got a wine flight(the interesting reds) and decided to forgo a main entrée to sample some small plates. I got the mushroom baklava and the Cajun Shrimp. The wine flight was pretty weak. The first wine was a tempranillo that was ridiculously sour. The second was a Syrah that was nice and the third I can’t even remember. The food came out quickly enough but the lady who brought out both my small plates and later my dessert was just plain mean. She didn’t smile, didn’t talk, nothing. My server was the bartender and she was relatively efficient given she had to cover the bar and myself plus a few other tables. The mushroom baklava was good. I enjoyed the flavors of the mushroom with pistachios and the berry compote. The problem was the phyllo dough was just that, doughy. It should be flaky and tender. So the dish lost a little favor from me because of that. Now for the shrimp. Ughhh! What a waste of money! DONOT get this item. The shrimp come completely shelled, heads on, all of that. I have a weird thing when it comes to shrimp, they sort of creep me out. So I was creeped out popping the heads of these little things. The flavor though, blech. Smoky, cloying, not good. I ate one shrimp and that was that. The staff didn’t seem to notice or care that I didn’t eat it. I got the apple caramel cake for dessert with buttermilk ice cream. It was good but didn’t really taste like apple or caramels. It just tasted like super sugary cake with plain ice cream on top. The sauce was pure sugar and was much too sweet. If the cake is already sweet and you put basically a pure sugar sauce under it, it’s kind of too much. Overall, would not return.

i came here for restaurant last week and was completely underwhelmed. the food was average, as was the service. my friend also found a hair in her food … and they only comped her $ 17(the price of the entrée) instead of the whole restaurant week meal price($ 35). i am happy to give this place another chance, but the portions were tiny and the food was dry and bland.

I was at this for dinner August 17. The food was fine and the service was good. I do not, however, know if I will return to this restaurant and am hesitant to recommend it because of the bullying and physically aggressive nature of a waiter named JP. I nearly walked out when I first got there but decided to give it a chance. I found the way he treated his colleague, a polite professional woman, to be especially derogatory. He thought nothing of screaming at her like she was a dog and flailing his arms, «What are you going to do??? Fire me???» All this right in the middle of the restaurant. Perhaps JP is friends with the owners and thereby has carte blanche to treat people like dirt but needless to say I was not impressed. At all. I requested not to have this waiter and the woman apologized for the scene. She had nothing to apologize for, and JP certainly didn’t apologize which speaks volumes about his character.

Great location, friendly staff, good food. Came on a Travelzoo deal and glad we did. We recommended to friends. Chilean Sea Bass and Lobster Mac & cheese were great. Portions slightly small but still worth it., recommended.

Made a reservation the night before and was really disappointed when we had to wait an extra twenty minutes. It was out last day at the hotel and we were in a time crunch but we weren’t seated right away. When we first walked in, there were a bunch of empty tables that were filled with dirty dishes. When we finally got to sit down, our orders took forever and the service was slowwwwww. My friends and I were all really upset with the service and the food. I for the omelet and it just tasted like regular hotel food. Nothing special. I would’ve spent my last DC breakfast somewhere else if I had the chance to do it all again. And my friends second that.

(3.5 stars) I’ve always had an enjoyable experience at Nage. The service is always very friendly, they have awesome complimentary biscuits, and brunch is pretty solid. This most recent time I had the stuffed french toast and it was good but not great. It felt like there was just too much going on. The hazelnuts and raisins clashed against one another while the cinnamon butter and mascarpone cream made it super sweet and somewhat soggy. It was a very heavy meal of which I could only eat half the french toast. They threw some potatoes on there even though it doesn’t normally come with them and those were really tasty. If you don’t enjoy a heavy brunch, then the french toast definitely isn’t for you. On a separate note, their angus burger and its frites are actually really, really good. I kind of wish I had gotten that instead… Next time.

Greeted by the friendliest manager, I was provided a brief menu overview. While waiting the aroma from the kitchen had my mouth watering. The waiter recommended a FABULOUS Allan Scott Sauv Blanc to compliment the Lobster Mac & Cheese and truffle sweet potato fries, both of which were scrumptious. Highly recommend.

This is a fine place within the Marriott which we have used for both breakfast and lunch. Limited veggie choices for lunch but plenty for breakfast. Recommend their fruit platter with quinoa and greek yogurt(see pic). Place gets filled up for lunch so recommend making reservations. The service is good and friendly but the fare is for sure on the pricier side.

Our team at MAC Strategies have become somewhat of Nage regulars. Yes, it is close to our office, e but we also love their food which reminds us of southern comfort food with an upscale twist. Located in the Marriott Courtyard Embassy Row hotel, some people might brush this off as another restaurant hotel but it is much more than that. Dwayne Motley, Executive Chef at Nage, changes the menu constantly depending on the season, but thankfully keeps some favorites on the menu. The staff members are always enthusiastic and more than willing to offer recommendations for their favorite dishes or what wines to pair with the meal. What is our recommendation for the December holidays? I started with the French Onion Soup, which was delicious. For a main course, I recommend the Lobster Mac & Cheese or the Crab Cake Sandwich. For companies looking to do a business dinner, Nage also offers private dining rooms and business conference areas which is perfect for businesses located in downtown D.C.

Nage is a great place for brunch! I wandered here with four friends after a late night at the bars because it was literally a door down from where we were staying. It was fairly empty at noon which was worrisome to me, but by the end of the meal I concluded the lack of customers wasn’t indicative of the quality of brunch that Nage offers. We were greeted by a friendly waitress who seated us quickly. We were pleasantly surprised by the range of mimosa options which consisted of original, passionfruit, cranberry, and grapefruit. We all ordered different flavors and were surprised by the potency of the mimosas. They certainly don’t skimp on the amount of champagne and we were all definitely buzzed by our second glass. They offer them at $ 5 a glass or $ 15 for bottomless, which is a great deal for DC, especially since they were served in wine glasses, not champagne flutes. They only downside was that the juice in the mimosa didn’t seem like real fruit juice, but more of a concentrate-based juice. They claim they are made with fruit purees so who knows… For the entrée, I ordered lemon zest pancakes since the menu designated the dish as a «Nage classic». The dish was presented beautifully with three beautiful pancakes with a richly hued blueberry compote and granola flakes. They pancakes tasted superb with the touch of lemon in them and was a decent portion. My friends ordered the Belgian waffle entrée which was also presented very artistically with mixed berries and chantilly cream on the side. Overall, the brunch was relatively inexpensive. All the entrees are between $ 10 – 15 and consist of large portions and you can’t really beat $ 5 mimosas served in wine glasses. The ambiance is nice and it seems a little empty but I think it’s just because it’s in a hotel so DC natives usually opt for somewhere else.

Despite the mediocre reviews and the fact that it’s a small restaurant in a hotel, the food was quite good. I came here for dinner and also for breakfast. For dinner, I ordered the short rib with a celery purée. I loved the extra flavor the celery purée offered. The short rib was very tender and the portion was generous. Definitely exceeded my expectations. You can’t really go wrong with breakfast items. I ordered scrambled eggs with sausage, potatoes and toasts. It was pretty standard.
