Navy Mess & Ward Room

First off, the staff of this fine West Wing establishment is ultra-​polite and well groomed. «Sir» and «Ma’am» are bandied about freely. The menu is diverse with classic American standards and some non-​American cuisines as well. For my visit, the Tandoori Shrimp was my selection. The vegetables were smoky and well spiced. The shrimp were a perfect al dente. If ever during the meal you forget where you are, the Presidential Seal is on each and every plate, each cup, and each sugar — sweet n’ low — sugar in the raw packet. The dining experience was exceptional: tasty, satisfying, fun, and altogether goose bump inducing. Thank you to the outstanding Navy and Coast Guard sailors for their great dedication and skill. It does not get any better. Bravo Zulu!!!
