Ridiculous. Who charges 50 $ to try on a dress? They do, dumbest thing I have EVER heard in my life! If you don’t buy a dress from them you lose 50 $. Do NOT waste your time unless your willing to throw away 50 $ for nothing!

Alvin is quite simply amazing. I ordered bridesmaid dresses from him by chance because he was the only store in the area to carry a certain designer I wanted. He was responsive and so helpful in advice about colors and fabric.
I didn’t know how lucky I was to know him until I realized, three months before my wedding, that the seamstress I was using to alter my wedding dress wasn’t capable of making the alterations I needed. That’s putting it kindly — the dress was a mess.
Not knowing where to turn, I emailed Alvin on a Sunday night. A ball of anxiety, nerves and tears, I was stunned when Alvin called me immediately, told me to take a deep breath and scheduled time for me to come in so he could see the dress.
He immediately knew what was wrong with the dress and took every single piece apart. Alvin actually had to totally reconstruct the dress with a muslin mock-​up. I’ve never had a garment fit me so beautifully. My wedding dress was saved — and I will be forever grateful to Alvin for it. Plus he’s a fascinating and fun person to know.
I’ll never be able to thank you enough!

I have never been so appalled by a store. The store charges a $ 50 booking fee to schedule an appointment. If you buy the dress, they will put the $ 50 towards the total. Otherwise, you paid $ 50 to shop at their store. I have never heard of such a horrible business model. The wedding industry is growing into one of the biggest scams and examples like this store add to the problem. My advice is to go to a respectable store that values it’s customers and doesn’t try to scam every person that is stupid enough to pay $ 50 to possibly spend money.

I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful my experience was with Alvin and New Couture. Alvin and I worked together to come of with the perfect design for my wedding dress. We met for multiple appointments and fitting across several months. I enjoyed the time with Alvin because he was professional, a great listener, and really masterfully created what I wanted for my wedding dress. I had a very private, intimate wedding with only my husband and myself. As strangers looked on to our ceremony on the beach and as our loved ones received our wedding announcement, everyone was raving about the dress. It was not the «typical wedding dress» and the fit was beyond amazing. Alvin is super talented and beyond professionally. If I could afford it, he would make almost all my clothes! If you want a custom dress, there is no place and NO ONE that will do a better job than Alvin at New Couture… period! RUN TO HIM. He is amazing! He is also helping with my attire for my wedding celebration. I’m not sure what the previous reviewer was talking about and I am so glad that I didn’t listen to her review because I would have missed out on the dress of my dreams.

UPDATE:
So…after purchasing my MOH’s dress from Alvin, I decided to have him do my alterations. As a diva bride, I have two dresses. Alvin’s input during this entire process has been INVALUABLE! He made a suggestion that I hadn’t even considered, and now my reception dress is turning out to be so much more than I ever imagined it could be. My final fitting is this Saturday. After the wedding, I’ll post pics of his work.
