How does this place only have 6 reviews?! This is a perfectly little neighborhood coffee and pastry shop. Katy is making some amazing breakfast treats in the back including perfect biscuits and sticky buns. This place is worth going out of your way for.

Three times I’ve bought coffee here, and that’s three times too many. When I’m spending five bucks on espresso, it should be potable. I get it, this is fancy barista stuff; «they pull their own shots!» Ugh, no. Such a tragic waste of money, such a tragic waste of coffee.

The breakfast pastries are displayed out in the open on top of the bar — no packaging, no pastry display case, nothing. That means folks standing in front of the bar to order could potentially be breathing/​coughing/​sneezing all over the food. Eek!

This is such a neighborhood gem! The pastries change daily with the scones being the best I have tried in DC. Vigilante coffee is used here which is roasted in DC. They always make me a great café au lait. Great to eat in or take out.

I’ve found the hot coffee to be very good and the cold brew to be good, but probably a little worse than similar cafes. All the coffee is above average when compared to Starbucks or what most people make at home. The food is also quite good, but overpriced.
The space is very cute, but small and often crowded. There is no wifi, which is probably a good thing considering the crowding. I’m very glad that it opened in my neighborhood and I go there frequently.

No question the best coffee in the city. Get there before the brunches wake up and enjoy a relaxing morning with a French press. One of the few places in the city that plays great music. Normally a very friendly staff, though the tall white guy with the shaved head I had the last two weekday mornings I went was really rude. One of those types that seemed to be annoyed that I was ordering a coffee in his coffee shop. But that was an anomaly, and the coffee immediately made it ok.

I really loved this place. Cozy atmosphere with big windows and lots of natural light. The brunch and pastries are delicious and the staff was ultra friendly. One of my favorite new spots in 2012.
