Owners must be making a killing off of rich customers. Why is it $ 12 for a bowl of Phở? A bowl at a restaurant in the DC area costs $ 8 and includes water, a bathroom, a table and chair, heat, aircon, roof, and walls. I’d reason that a food trucks has not even half the expenses of a restaurant(unless there’s some huge permit or licensing fees), a bowl from a food truck should cost about $ 5.

Very good phở and summer rolls. Always a long line but worth the wait on a cold day. Very respectful staff. I am now on a food coma at work…

Excellent! You get a quart of soup, lime, and sauces for 10 bucks. The beef is always tender, the noodles are always plentiful, and the cashier is forever bowing

Best phở, phở truck in the DMV. The broth is clean and flavorful. It’s refreshing and addicting. Its not oily. The meat is tender and not dry. Noodles are great and not chewy. The broth is what stands out the most. Ive also tried their shrimp roll and egg roll which are both delicious. I would definitely recommend it. FYI, Its at north side of the metro center every tuesday.

Love Phở and always wondered would it have that same classic taste or care from a food truck, but I was pleasantly surprised. Ordered the #4(3 meats) Phở. Tasted just as good as Phở I get from Ba Le. The only minus is that they add in some of the herb and protein ingredients for you where you can control that yourself at most restaurants, but from a packaging standpoint I understand. Worth the money and will be back again.

Best phở in DC. Period. I make sure I don’t have Thursday lunch plans every week and I wait in line to order«all the meats» and spring rolls.

Heaven in a cardboard cylinder! I don’t know why it has taken me so long to review Phở Junkies but it is my go-to Friday lunch option. Perfect on those blustery winter days, or when your office AC is blasting. The broth is super flavorful and not oily, the noodles always cooked to perfection. I usually get the steak and it is always tender. I’m a fan of the crunchy sprouts in the broth, which add even more fresh flavor. The lime, jalapeño, hoisin and chili sauce are all great additions. Lastly, this review would be incompletely if I forgot to mention the service! The man at the«front of truck» is so courteous and kind. Despite having a super long line year-round, they have mastered efficient phở delivery from a truck. Bravo! Absolutely delicious food and perfect service: D

Phở Junkies is one of my favorite Phở trucks. The broth is not oily at all(not even when compared with other trucks, but even compared to phở restaurants) — one of the least oily broths I’ve had. They don’t skimp on the protein(I had chicken) and it wasn’t dry. They provide a good amount of fresh basil and other toppings. One interesting thing — their phở features bean sprouts in the actual phở, not on the side that you can add. I’m normally not a sprouts fan at all, but since they were all«brothed up» I barely noticed. It actually wasn’t until my co-worker pointed this out that I actually noticed. A solid 4 stars!

I’ve always been against getting phở from a food truck, it just doesn’t make sense to me. I’m not very traditional, but what I am traditional in is how you eat your bowl of noodle soup. You sit down, enjoy it with a big wide bowl, a big soup spoon, with your small dippings bowls of hoisin sauce + sriarcha, and carefully pick the basil leaves into small pieces and putting it into your broth with some bean sprouts. At Phở junkies, you get phở in a tall container, with a plastic shallow spoon. So for me, if there’s a sit down phở spot nearby, I really wouldn’t go here, but there’s no phở spot near Union Station so this is the only option. That being said, the phở is actually really good. The beef broth is hearty, tasty, and has the deep beef bone flavor. The noodles are of good consistency, and the meat is good quality. So while it’s tough to eat this properly with a shallow plastic spoon, digging into a deep container, it definitely fulfills the phở craving. Unfortunately, the two key things it’s missing here are basil and they only give a small amount of bean sprouts, but when it is the winter and cold, it’ll be perfect. I ate it on a warm summer day, and it had me sweating like crazy. So I won’t get this until it’s cold again, but I know when I do, it’ll hit the spot.

The very best Phở I have ever had. We wait in a long line each time but it is so worth it!

Heard the hype about Phở Junkies so I ditched my packed lunch and tried out the food truck! So glad I did. I got beef/steak phở. The broth is authentic and hearty, not oily like phở broth can sometimes be. The meat was tender and flavorful. Noodles cooked perfectly, and broth seasoned flawlessly. They also give you sprouts, lime, jalapeño, hoisin, and Siracha, though chili garlic sauce would also be good! I consider phở one of my favorite foods and have eaten at quite a few different restaurants, but phở junkies takes the cake by a long shot so far! $ 10 for a decent sized bowl, but probably about half the amount you would get in a restaurant. Worth it though. Come back to Friendship Heights soon!

The best Phở I have ever had not to mention the most respectful and polite people I have ever met. I used to work right outside of their Friday location but now walk over 2 miles round trip to enjoy Phở Friday’s! If you’re adventurous try the #1(all the meats). Everything is delicious so getting it all in one bowl is perfect.

Yum!!! Their phở is soooo good. Excellent meaty & delicious broth which I can drink it plain, seriously! The shrimp rolls are extremely tasty, too. I like that they put a big piece of sweet onion to each shrimp roll, adding both natural sweetness and combining different texture & flavor… crunchy, shrimpy, sweet & juicy… so good! The service is super friendly as well. BTW, they have the coolest zombie artpiece on the truck. Everything is great, so go get a bowl of phở and some shrimp roll whenever you catch their truck near your place.

I’ve been on the lookout for Phở Junkies so when they were stationed close to my office, I jumped for joy and ran out to get me some phở last week after I had conveniently left my lunch at home. It was meant to be folks! I went around 1pm, a bit later than I would have liked as they had run out of one of the meats so if I wanted the all meats phở(which I did, of course) they’d discount it(no problem) and yes, there was a line but the owner on the truck was so nice and polite in taking and giving orders to customers and with only two staff at work pumped out those phở bowls/cartons pretty efficiently and quickly. I ordered their shrimp spring rolls and all meats phở. $ 5 shrimp spring rolls were delicious– fresh shrimp, fresh veggies and crunchy and lovely sweet peanut sauce for dipping. Phở is prepped and packaged all ready to go for you! Lime, hoisin/sriracha mix with extra sriracha, chopsticks, napkins and spoon. Phở is good! Like can’t believe this came off a truck GOOD! I’m a big fan of Phở Junkies– Great phở all ready to go so no worries of those zombie gettin’ ya!

I was a little skeptical of the hype. I’ve tried most of the phở trucks at this point and haven’t had a bad experience with any of them. They all excel at putting out really good phở(easily four-star products, all of them) for freezing cold people crawling out of their office around noontime. With that said, they’re all roughly on par with each other. I’d struggle to tell you what distinguished the quality of Phở Wheels versus Phonation, for example. Despite the reviews, I expected to have a similar experience at Phở Junkies. As much as I love phở, I don’t really know much about it and I’d struggle to tell you what makes it «really good» or «really bad.» I just assumed my ignorance was why I never developed a strong preference with the other trucks. Well, I finally trekked over to 20th and L last Friday and discovered that these guys definitely stand out from the pack! It’s easily the best phở I’ve ever had in D.C. and I think it has everything to do with the meat. I got the«all the meat phở» and it had so many different types of extremely flavorful meat in the bowl. I noticed everything from meatballs, to brisket, to even some tendon. You definitely can’t get that at any of the other phở trucks and there was a lot of everything as well. I certainly didn’t finish anywhere close to hungry. I really have nothing more to add but would just like to use this space to make a plea for a day at Farragut! You guys could count on at least one weekly customer :)(and probably many more if these rave reviews are any indication).

You know something is wrong when at 1.00 pm there is no line of 20 people by the truck(gusting winds and negative temperatures can’t do anything to that crowd!) Racing heart. The window still open. Anything left? Just chicken and steak. I’ll take both! Yep, they will sell out. Yep, they will charm you with their nice service and politeness. Yep, you will enjoy the pleasant smell of broth and Thai basil in your office long time after the meal is gone. Can’t believe there was life before Phở.

Summer roll and chicken phở for lunch, both were great… The summer roll came with a peanut dipping sauce, which was excellent… The phở was very good, aromatic and filling… I didn’t know what the side sauces were with the phở, but I rarely eat this cuisine…

As far as phở trucks go, this is definitely the best one. The broth is tasty and they give you a lot of delicious meat with it. It’s like they gave me more meat than noodles but I’m def not complaining about that. I caught them at Metro Center and had to walk back to my office in McPherson Square and my phở was still hot and the noodles weren’t soggy at all. I’ll definitely be back here next time I have phở cravings for lunch while at work.

When I first moved to DC and was searching for a great phở place near my apartment i was like WHEREISTHISPLACE??? AM I ONCRAZYPILLS… and then i realized it’s a foodtruck that changes locations every weekday. It’s open during work hours near Union Station on Mondays and Thursdays. You can track their location on their twitter page: . Recently, their schedule has been: –Monday: Union Station(North Capitol St and Massachusetts Ave NW across from the post office) –Tuesday: Metro Center(12th St NW and H St NW) –Wednesday: L’Enfant Plaza(6th St and Maryland Ave SW) –Thursday: Union Station(North Capitol St and Massachusetts Ave NW across from the post office) –Friday: 20th St NW and L St NW(20th& L) 5 stars for the soup/noodles/meat. I was a bit skeptical at first that foodtruck phở could be this good because the deliciousness of phở depends upon texture and temperature, which are extremely time-sensitive! But as long as you plan to eat your phở within 10 minutes of ordering(like back at your office or inside the Union Station foodcourt or on a bench outside), I think you’ll be good to go. Most of all, I was impressed by the flavor and texture of the beef. I ordered the option that allows you to pick 3 types of meat. I went with the steak, the fatty brisket, and the flank and was not disappointed. mMmmMmmmm… so tender and delicious. One caveat: it took a bit of time(30 minutes?) from when i was waiting in line until when I actually got my phở… i guess they can’t help how successful they are! They definitely try to move along as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality or graciousness. Honestly, I felt like I was ordering phở from super patient, kind-hearted monks who happened to be phở experts.

Absolutely great! Phở soup was delicious, along with the spring rolls. I was nervous about how it would all be packaged and whether it would be messy or unwieldy to take back to my office. No reason to be nervous. Neat, effective packaging of the soup and all the«extras». I also found that the staff was super friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go back again!
