Went for Sunday brunch and it was delicious! Great place to go with a group, but I would make a reservation before hand. They have bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s for $ 15, which most of my group got. I opted for the spiked iced coffee and wow, it was delicious. All of the food was great, no complaints from anyone at the table. The service wasn’t the best, but once we ordered the food came out relatively quickly. A great place to hang out and share good food with friends!

ASKFORLUIS. He’s a fantastic server and the brunch here is out of this world. The crab and eggs Benedict was fantastic and if you have a chance get the policy«hash browns!» Once again Luis is incredible!

I was unsure how the experience would be based on the reviews I read, but I came here with about 17 other people for my birthday brunch and we were all exceptionally pleased with every aspect of our experience. From the service to the food and drinks — everything was spectacular. The waitress overheard it was my birthday and brought out a free dessert at the end of our meal! They also were in no rush to kick us out in spite of the 2 hour bottomless drink limit, which I found to be incredibly nice. I got the pancakes with bananas and they were delicious. I gave the waitress a hug at the end because she was so sweet and all of us felt so bad giving her a stack of over 20 credit cards to charge from one bill. But she did it with not one complaint(in front of us, at least)!

Our first time experience won’t be the last. Policy is definitely on my to go brunch spots in the district. We happened to have come on a very full reserved day(Sunday) no walk ins available but the hostess made sure we had a spot at the bar and the bar gave full service! The place like I said was jammed packed but the service was excellent to my surprise. The spiked coffee and beer mimosa was just right to compliment our food. I had the policy breakfast with extra bacon and poached eggs(extra charge). But my most favorite was the Korean short rib bbq! Try it and it will Not disappoint! All in all this place is a hidden gem something I wasn’t expecting. I haven’t really explored the entire place but I’d love to try what else they have in store. Thumbs up on the dining experience ! A must for people visiting DC and for locals all together

Policy is my go-to spot for a night out in DC. Almost always guaranteed to have a big crowd, and good music. Bottle service is definitely affordable, and if you show up late and they have open tables they’ll make you a deal. Once in a while it gets a little too crowded, but the bouncers are pretty good at making sure no one is getting stupid.

Policy is a nice brunch spot. It’s chill and laid back. I will say it was pretty loud inside though, but they had pretty descent food. For some reason, policy was on my list of brunch places to try in DC. I’m glad I did. My husband and I had a great brunch date. You can also get a pretty good amount of food for a descent price. WIN! Sooo. I like tapas. This is not a tapas restaurant. However, the portions can be shared as tapas. I looked over to a table of four people and saw they were doing their brunch as a tapa style. It was suggested by he waiter, Luiz. He was also our waiter. Thanks, Luiz! I just thought that was GENUIS! I was all over it and told my husband I wanted to do the same, so he agreed. Luiz also gave good customer service. He’s cool ask for him! My husband initially wanted an Omelette and Pancakes, but they had ran out of pancakes and beignets. This was a bummer because my husband really wanted pancakes, and I really wanted beignets after my meal. Owell, things happen. He ended up getting the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sliders. I ordered the Crab and Egg Benedict with Breakfast Potatoes. Mind you this was before the tapas idea. Ha-ha. Then we ordered the Shrimp & Grits and Korean BBQ Hash. The sliders were pretty good but nothing amazing or super creative. It basically is exactly was its named. The Crab & Egg Benedict was ok. I have had better Benedict before. It lacked flavor and seasoning. The Korean BBQ Hash was really good. It was even better with the sunny side up egg. My husband doesn’t like runny egg, so he wasn’t a fan of that part. The Shrimp and Grits were good as well. They were different and interesting. Why interesting. Well because the sauce was sweet. I have never had Shrimp & Grits that leaned more to the sweet side of the sauce than a savory gravy like sauce. I have had tons of shrimp & grits and this was a first. It was good but a bit of a surprise to me when I had my first bite. The mimosas were also good. Now I can check Policy off my DC brunch list. It was a fun experience with descent food. It’s worth a try at some point. I wouldn’t necessarily rank it as one of my top 5 brunch spots, but it was descent. I have to give it to them though, they do have pretty reasonable brunch prices. I guess here is a give and take situation. «Descent» food(meaning ok but nothing to brag about) and loud, but good prices and good customer service. Now. I’ll let you decide. :p

We came here for a birthday party on Saturday night. Got a table with bottle service so can’t comment on their other drinks. We arrived around 10:30−11 and it wasn’t overly crowded but quickly filled up after we were there for a bit. They play great music and we danced until 2:30am! The service was good, but there was one annoying thing that happened. They ask for a credit card first if you’re getting bottle service and they ended up charging my friend whose birthday it was more than they charged his girlfriend. I’m not sure why they didn’t just split it down the middle and why they didn’t ask how my friends wanted to split it before charging so that was a bit annoying. Overall though, it’s a great place to dance and we had tons of fun!

Nice spot for a bite to eat(tapas, of course) and a drink. The lamb sliders are excellent and I highly recommend them, but skip the order of hand cut fries(ours were kind of soggy… no good!). Good wine(hubs loved his Malbec) and cocktails are on point. I forget what I had but I asked our waiter for a recommendation and it was perfection. Outdoor seating on a warm night is a MUST.

Great place to share small plates with friends/family. If you’re in the mood for a different style of tapas that aren’t spanish-based, definitely check this place out. I’d highly recommend the Greek Lamb nachos, Korean Short Ribs, Argentinean Sliders, and Pan Seared Scallops. Wine selection and drink menu is also good. Update: 1÷11÷2016: attended brunch this past weekend with a group of friends and had an incredible experience. $ 15 all-you-can-drink mimosas/bloodys and ordering a la carte off the menu was perfect since it prevented over-indulging. I would recommend the breakfast skillet and will most definitely be returning here again for brunch!

I’ve been to Policy’s brunch 3 times now since moving to DC. I wouldn’t say it’s anything flashy or crazy, but it’s been incredibly consistent. My most recent experience was probably the best I’ve had to date. I had a party of 6 for brunch and we were going to be a little bit late so I called and let the hostess know. She happily moved the reservation back a half hour to accommodate our tardiness. When we arrived, they let us pick the table we wanted to sit at which was nice. I noticed after glancing at the menu that it seems that they’ve upgraded their dishes for brunch. There were more options than I remembered and they covered a nice array of cuisines. I went with the Korean BBQ short rib hash and it was delicious. Our server, Brittany, killed it all afternoon. She kept the mimosas coming out constantly so no one literally ever had an empty glass. And what’s better? Brunch ends at 3 and she served us until 4 which was great. If you’re looking for a place in DC to come brunch with a group of friends, Policy is a solid choice that will keep your entire group happy.

Policy no longer provides you with their complementary tasty«breakfast breads» prior to brunch. That is fine, however, I wish they were on the menu, as they were lovely. We ordered beignets but they didn’t arrive. Our polite server was busy so it was hard to get her attention to notify her. I lived with out. I had the crab cakes benedict. The crab cakes were really salty and I would not order them again in any form(as sliders). The dish came with home fries which were excellent and I am not a huge fan of fries. The place can be a bit loud, as it gets crowded for brunch.

This is my 100th review! And what better way to mark this milestone moment than with a brunch review(my favorite meal of the week)! I went to Policy for brunch with a friend this past Sunday after another friend suggested it as a great spot for yummy food and unlimited boozy brunch drinks. So I decided to give it a try! I made a 11:45 reservation. I’m glad we reserved a table because shortly after arriving the place got packed! But despite the crowd, the service was great! Our waiter was quite attentive and the mimosas kept coming! The French pressed coffee was strong and flavorful. The beignets came out warm and lightly dusted with powdered sugar… They were quite tasty(and came with two dipping sauces). For my main entrée I got the breakfast skillet(chorizo, breakfast potatoes, veggies, topped with egg and avocado). Even though my dish had melted cheese it came out not quite warm enough. Also, I expected an over easy egg with runny yolk, however the egg was a bit over cooked for me and not runny at all. In hind site I could have been more specific when ordering and could have asked to send it back… but I was too hungry. Our waiter was so nice so I’m sure he would have been fine with any request… But I didn’t complain. Despite the food temp issue I had a great time sipping on my delicious mimosas and munching away on my meal. I am likely to return for another brunch, however I might order more carefully next time.

*****5 Stars for Brunch***** Policy is my favorite go-to brunch place in DC. The food, service, and affordability are great! We always get a seat even when last minute and I typically order the breakfast skillet with scrambled eggs and bottomless mimosas. For happy hour, I go with the house wine for $ 5 and munch on the braised short rib and stir fried green beans. They’re delicious! As for the dance area upstairs on weekend nights, I’m not a fan. I want to like it, but time and time again I leave disappointed.

Stood in line for a half hour to walk into a near empty bar area. Then I was expected to stand in another line to go upstairs to where the dance floor and dj were. Not exactly how I would like to spend my Saturday night. After you make it into the dance floor area, be prepared to have sweaty bodies rub against you and elbow you the entire time. It is so packed and there is absolutely no room to move. I hope you don’t like your shoes because with the amount of times your foot will be stepped on, those shoes are goners! I’m positive that the amount of people let into the SMALL dance area is a fire code violation. The real bonus of the night is there is 1 bathroom stall for women and 1 for men. Be prepared to spend yet another 45 minutes of your night in line! Also, the drinks were extremely weak!

Came to DC for the weekend and researched the best brunch spots in the area of Logan Circle. There was a long list of options but this one stood out and I’m here to say it lived up to the hype. We showed up when it opened(11AM) and were able to get a seat in the window for people watching. We set ourselves up with the ‘bottomless mimosa’ option(a ‘must have’ for brunch) and they came around with pitchers topping people off which was awesome. The food was great, there were several options that were appealing so we dialed them all up and set ourselves up with a cornucopia of breakfast options. To top it all off, they were pumping 90s music into the speakers the entire time. We could not have asked for more, what an awesome morning! The only con is that the windows don’t open — there were a lot of other places in the area that had outdoor seating or open windows to get some fresh air and enjoy a beautiful day. That said, it makes up for it in many other ways.

This place was very underwhelming. Sad to say but it was. Usually when I eat at brunch I order at least 5 plates and I want to try everything and anything. After getting my first plate, I didn’t order anymore food. I didn’t care for my crab eggs benedict — the crab was off. The home fries that came with the crab were delicious, they had parmesan cheese on them and were extremely flavorful. The breakfast skillet was better than the crab but the home fries in that dish needed SALT. We got the bottomless mimosas for $ 15. They were not my favorite. First, I seen the orange juice they were using and it was not oj — it was some kind of neon orange sugary drink. The glasses were still hot from the steam and had a musty smell that I could not bear. We wanted to say something but the bartender seemed annoyed with us as soon as we sat down so I just thought it was pointless. The place wasn’t packed for a Sunday brunch but you would have thought it was by the way we were being made to feel like we were a bother. All in all, the food was not up to par, the service was even lower and the cleanliness could be better. With so many other choices to choose from for brunch — we won’t have trouble finding another.

I had an excellent experience at Policy. I ordered the steak and eggs which were perfect. The steak was cooked exactly as I asked and so were the eggs. The potatoes were crispy and delicious. The waitress was attentive and friendly. I didn’t order any cocktails, but my friends did enjoy theirs.

***4.5*** Came here for a birthday celebration and the place began to get super crowded by the time it was midnight. I really liked the music they played, kept it to music you could actually dance to and the DJ even threw in a good amount of old school jams. Their bartenders also made amazing drinks! Being super sensitive to alcohol, I’m always cautious about ordering drinks but I had the Fuzzy Navel and it was delicious! I couldn’t even tell that there was alcohol in it. My friends had a couple of other drinks that were pretty good as well but the cranberry and vodka was super strong, almost felt like there wasn’t any cranberry juice in it. I guess on the bright side, you know they’re not jibbing you of alcohol. We left around 1:30AM and the line waiting to get through the doors was still ridiculously long. Overall a really good place to go to if you’re looking for a fun lounge to party it up on a weekend. I gave it a 4.5 because the place felt almost too crowded by the time we were ready to leave. You couldn’t even dance at that point!

Policy gets 5 stars for exceeding my expectations in(almost) every way. In terms of DC brunch, Policy has great food at great prices and great service. I’ll admit I was surprised to hear that we were going to Policy for brunch rather than 11pm on a Saturday night, but I’m so glad we did! Our server Jimmie did a great job managing a hangry group of girls fresh from the Cherry Blossom 10-Mile run, since most of us ordered 2 – 3 dishes each and had bottomless mimosas and bloody mary’s. The bloodys are pretty spicy but reeeeeally good. Everything we tried was delicious: Started by sharing the bacon, egg, and cheese sliders on warm flaky biscuits. I enjoyed the short rib hash(tangy sauce on pulled ribs with potatoes and fried eggs — can’t go wrong), but also snagged a couple bites from my friend’s breakfast skillet and that was good too if you’re in the mood for more rounded flavor, though the pico was a little heavy handed on the cilantro for my taste. I also had to try their version of the hash brown side, which is reminiscent of a galette — thinly sliced potatoes with parmesan cheese and cream. Yum! A few of the girls got the beignets to finish, but I was too full to try even a bite! They looked more like powdered donut holes(denser than most beignets) but everyone said they were tasty with the cream anglaise on the side. It seems you can’t go wrong here! I was bummed their gnocchi was not available, but we were more in the mood for heavy/greasy food after the workout we had. And for the borderline embarrassing amount of food and drinks, I only paid $ 35 before tip. The only issue from our visit was that we had reserved our table for the upstairs patio, but got bumped from an apparently hard-partying baby shower who took more tables than they were supposed to. Oh well. SO great, don’t let the late-night partying fool you — Policy has brunch down, too. :)

I’m a fan. Brunch was very affordable for a DC brunch, and everyone in my group of 11 liked what they ordered. Beth, our waitress, was absolutely fantastic, and laid back. And when we ordered bottomless mimosas, she left the pitchers at the table. No annoying waiting for a refill. This place is pretty loud, but the atmosphere is great and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I’ll probably be back.
