Reminded me of New York! I will definitely go back when I have a craving for a lobster roll.

I stopped by this food truck for a quick lunch. I knew I wanted the chowder since it was a chilly day, perfect for chowder. I chose the half lobster roll with cup of chowder for $ 15.95 and was asked whether I wanted Maine or Connecticut style for the lobster roll. I honestly wasn’t sure of the difference, so I went with Maine. I should’ve just asked since the next person in line did and was promptly told that Maine is cold with mayo while Connecticut is warm with butter. The chowder was hot and chunky, with a good amount of clam and potato. The lobster roll was heavy on the lobster, light on the mayo, just the way I like it. My combo came with a drink, and they had a variety of organic sodas for personal dispensing on the outside of the truck. All in all a great, and thoroughly filling lunch.

The Lobster roll was filled to the brim with tender and buttery lobster meat. Roll was lightly toasted. Flavor was expected, lobster lemon wedge and dill pickle. Great combo! Pricey 15.00 but I wanted to try.

Stalked around Snallygasters looking for anything appetizing and landed at Maine Lobster Rolls. Ordered the Connecticut-style. They were out of shrimp(you snooze you lose) Despite the crowd, the meal was delivered quickly. All told, fantastic! Lobster tasty, bread was warm and fluffy and adding the lemon from the slice they gave me was perfect. Pickle was excellent addition. A bit pricy but its better than anything I’ve ever had from a truck!

mmmmm Had a Connecticut style roll yesterday at Food Truck Friday in Farragut Sq. I’m not a fan of the mayo so this was a great option for me. Meaty & juicy… cooked perfectly… just the right amount of butter too not sopping. Line went quickly & stayed filled.

Hard to believe these lobster rolls come from a food truck! Although I much prefer the warm buttery Connecticut style lobster roll, I ordered the Maine lobster roll from UberEATS because I was craving lobster, and I’m happy to say that it was very satisfying. For 16.50 after tax(chips included), I felt that the amount of lobster was very reasonable, plus it was fresh and delicious! Although the bread was just slightly soggy due to the fact that the roll had been made at least 30 min before I ordered, this is no fault of Red Hook. I would love to try the Connecticut lobster roll or the Lobster BLT from the truck whenever I get the chance!

I got a chance to try the truck during Crystal City’s Food Truck Thursday. I decided to try something different so I decided on the Lobster BLT. All the lobster rolls were a flat rate of $ 15.95 not including tax. And all the roll comes with is a pickle spear. The selections are between the Maine and the Connecticut preparation. They also had a deal with half a roll and chowder. Or you could pay $ 7 more for chowder and a drink. Hmm…not sure if it was the hunger or the bold flavors of my sandwich. But the bread was nicely toasted and buttery it was a difficult sandwich to eat in that the lobster topped the BLT. So pieces would fall out but once you go a taste of everything together it was delicious. Nice salt from the bacon the freshness of the lettuce and the sweet tomato with the sweetness of the lobster. So fresh I had a few pieces of that had Fallen off my sandwich into the container but those pieces were nicely seasoned with the mayo but not overly mayonnaisey. Overall a very flavorful and delicious lobster roll however the price was a bit steep for me considering it didn’t come with a side or a drink at least but I guess the lobster roll speaks for itself.

Amazing Amazing! I had the opportunity to eat this delicious Connecticut style Lobster roll and I must say it was warm and very tender. Flavor was just right with the amount of butter and the potato salad was aight not the best in flavor but it did the job to fill me up. I enjoyed the Arnold Palmer to wash it down with. Hands down 5 Stars.

I love this place! Had it for the first time at Nat Geo Nerd Night, most recently today(just got back to the office)!! The line looks long but moves super fast, and the roll… Heaven. I get the Connecticut and it is simply amazing. Also got a yummy Arnold Palmer today! Not too sweet, and very refreshing. The food isn’t cheap, but I do think it’s reasonable for the quality(and quick service). I recommend them for a special treat!

3.5 stars. I finally got a chance to try it at a beer festival at the fairgrounds! There was finally not a line that wrapped around 2 blocks– like at Truckeroo for all non DC workers that don’t have access to their lunch locations. I should’ve looked at the price though, $ 17 is a little OD. Each buttered bun came with probably 2 large claws. I like that the claws weren’t smothered in Mayo and you could actually taste the meatiness of the lobster. My friend got the shrimp tossed in some aioli, and I was expecting at least decent size shrimp pieces but they were the TINNYYYY cheap kind, the one that are like ½ an inch big at most. It was filled to the brim so she didn’t mind that much. The extra 0.5 stars were earned b/c of the fast service and no line. I def won’t be going back b/c that price is a few bucks too steep.

I can count on one hand how many time I have had lobster in my life, so I just had to try their food truck for lunch today while I’m in town. I got the Maine style lobster roll and it was delicious. The lobster meat was super fresh and tasty and together with that roll, it was a party in my mouth. Definitely recommended.

No news here: lobster is expensive, even when it’s dispensed on a bun from a truck. We had Red Hook during one of their visits to Truckeroo. The rolls were tasty, nothing really to write home about. They were pretty bland, and lacking in flavor despite their deceptive appearance. Normally I feel like I’d have more to say about a $ 15 sandwich, however it was truly unremarkable. The lobster was fresh: the meat was firm and bright white in color, odorless, and had that juicy bite to it. The whole experience was fairly bland, and made for a better photo than a meal.

Their food truck was around my job the other day and I was excited to try it out. I kept it simple with a Connecticut style Lobster roll which means its pouched in butter and served warm on the roll with lime, and sprinkled with paprika. They had ran out the kettle chips so it’s all I ate. Although it cost me $ 18 including my bottled water, it tasted absolutely fresh and delicious. No complaints here.

I just finished the lobster roll. No, look at the time stamp. I just finished it and I am Unilocaling about it. I didn’t wait until I wiped my hands as now the A key has a piece of claw meat juice on it. Let’s talk about food trucks for a second. I used to think of food trucks as the ratty roach coaches that pull up to construction sites to serve up some greasy substitute for a breakfast or lunch. Red Hook Lobster Pound food truck has solidified the notion that the modern food trucks are now mini-bile(that’s mini and mobile… trademark) restaurant’s that provide quality food at base prices. A decent lobster roll shouldn’t cost more or less because it comes from a truck. The pricing was fair and the lobster roll was good. I am not a lobster aficionado but I can see why there were many people lined up to get a handful of what was being served up. The staff was prompt and was able to sell the food with descriptors like«It’s awesome» and«sweet paprika». If he said something like«The lobster roll will melt your face and make your momma go snorkeling for some claw meat just to get into our zone just to make you move back home» I wouldn’t have believed it. Well, that’s until I tasted it. It was yummy. I think I will now have to revisit the truck to taste the Lobster Mac & Cheese. I am a big fan of cheese so they might be able to lure me into the truck. «psst, hey man, I have cheese in the truck. Hop on in and let’s go for a drive» I think I just scared myself and peed a little.

After hearing so much about this infamous lobster roll, I decided to give it a try. While it is a fairly expensive dish at $ 15, you do get a surprisingly good amount of freshly prepared lobster. If u were at a restaurant and the lobster was provided as an entrée over rice/pasta, I could imagine a $ 20+ price tag. So u won’t buy this on a daily basis, but every now and then is perfectly acceptable and worth it.

I’m always looking for a good lobster roll(a bit hard to find in Seattle). I was in DC for business in March and found Red Hook Lobster Pound. Connecticut style is my jam and they serve it just the way I like it! The warm, toasted roll holds chucks of lobster bathed in butter. A bit of citrus and I’m in heaven! I read some reviews that indicated the roll was small. It was the perfect size for me and it was the only lunch I finished completely on my trip. Service was friendly and quick! Oh, and I’d never tried Maine Root soda before. They have a fountain where you can mix and match flavors. By far, blueberry is my favorite and I found myself buying bottles all over town for the rest of my trip!

So delicious! Lobster roll! Love it! If you can find this food truck definitely try something… when I was there so many of their things were sold out! So this is a food truck. No seating no frills, but takes credit cards! I had the Conn. Lobster roll. Warm. With dripping amounts of butter. Huge chunks of lobster… my fav. Maine lobster roll to is the mayo based kind. If you were wondering… I will be in search of this truck again. They ran out of the lobster mac and cheese…

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for Red Hook Lobster Pound! This was one of my very first truck experiences and after trying them again yesterday(it’s probably been at least a year) I remembered why I liked them so much. I’ve been on a macaroni and cheese kick recently so yesterday I ordered a half lobster roll(maine style) and lobster mac and cheese. The lobster roll was delicious — stuffed full of meat and just barely(love that they don’t overdo the mayo) It was my first time with their lobster mac and cheese. The mac and cheese could have been a tad creamier and more cheesy(just my personal preference) but the important thing was that it was stuffed chock-full of lobster meat. Other menu items I’ve tried include their whoopie pies and hot apple cider — both are delicious. One other change to their menu now is you can order half sandwiches with a chowder combo, which is awesome if you are trying to keep portions reasonable but still try different things on the menu. Sure, it’s pricey(I spent nearly $ 20 yesterday) but as a once-in-a-while treat for a lobster lover, I think it’s worth it. Well done!

Red Hook Lobster Truck paid a visit to Shirlington Village during lunch and I of course had to truck their lobster roll. Despite the size and price, the experience was worthwhile as its not everyday one can feast on a lobster roll ! The line was short and the customer service was prompt as my lobster roll was ready immediately. Given the nostalgia and short wait, I would order another lobster roll.

I don’t particularly like lobster rolls, never had a good one, but this place restored my faith in em! The Good: Loaded with big chunks of fresh lobster meat, satisfying buttery flavor(Connecticut style), fresh warm toasted bun with the perfect crunch that provided the backbone to the meat. The Bad: Very Small! But it makes me wonder if it were any bigger, maybe I’d get sick of it? Good thing I wasn’t too hungry though because it was perfect amount for my appetite, which leads me to… The Ugly!!!: $ 17+ of my hard earned buckaroos for this appetizer sized roll. Yea I get it, it’s lobster, it costs more, you’re lucky I enjoyed it! I can see the $ 10 range as reasonable however this was a little too much for too little. I mainly wanted to try this place out because I see it consistently as the top 3 – 5 rated food trucks in DC, and I can see why people enjoy it. But bottom line great food… bad prices.
