I had the Tonkatsu ramen and chicken skewer. The broth was very flavorful and there’s a good amount of scallion, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, and seaweed for extra crunch and flavor. I was disappointed to find one lone piece of chashu pork in my ramen though. The chicken skewer(2 skewers per order) has nice flavor but was a bit overcooked and dry.

I just had this again yesterday. The pork belly and broth is sooo good. If you haven’t tried this before you are missing out. I eat Phở all the time, at least twice a week and visiting Miso Honey is a special treat for me. The best Roman /Phở type of soup I have ever had.

Ordered the Pork Ramen which had two pieces of pork in it. While he was making it I could see that he grabbed a carton of pork broth that wasn’t fresh or homemade and poured it in because, well it’s not a tasty place. The noodles weren’t that great either. Also got the porn buns which were more like bun tacos and not an actual pork bun but at least they had meat in it unlike the ramen. So 14 bucks for both and definitely not worth it.

I had the tonkotsu ramen today, and it was really surprisingly good! I went just before the truck stop serving lunch for the day at 2pm. The ramen was really great, and very generous in terms of both portion and the amount of pork. I suspect the owners are reading the reviews here, and adjusting in response to constructive criticism. Really worth a try, again if you were previously disappointed.

I was very surprised by the food from this food truck. The ramen was flavorful and better than most of the ramen places in DC. The best though, has to be their bulgulgi buns. The kimchi slaw was a creative concept and the combination with bulgulgi and the buns was perfection. The prices were very reasonable. $ 9 for ramen and $ 4 for two buns. Now I know why my coworkers track them down weekly.

Keeping in mind this is a food truck… Had the tonkatsu ramen and honestly it wasn’t bad at all. Flavorful and good portion. I did add a little spicy sesame oil that they provide. Would I go back? Yes

I see a lot of negative criticism of the pork belly bao, but my beef bulgogi bao was awesome! A women actually stopped me at the H Street Festival to ask where I had gotten it. I also give this truck props just for providing a filling portion of anything for 5 bucks(though I’m small, so YMMV).

The tonkotsu ramen was pretty good here– the broth had plenty of pork flavor– nice and salty. Noodles were firm. Toppings included bean sprouts, bamboo, scallions, and seaweed. I wish they gave you the option of adding egg and other toppings like you can at Daikaya. Overall, the ramen was pretty good, so I’ll be back. Looks like a lot of the negative Unilocal reviews are about the pork buns, which I didn’t try, but may explain the low rating?

Kind of surprised by the bad reviews here. I tried this truck for the first time this week and found the Tonkotsu pork ramen to be excellent. Rich broth, lots of roasted pork, firm noodles. Won’t give it the five stars of Daikaya, but it’s only a step or two behind — especially considering they serve the stuff out of a truck. Service was a tad slow and a tad confusing — they call out numbers for orders but don’t give you a receipt, so you have to just memorize it. Things got mixed up a couple times for people in line ahead of me, though it was pretty quickly sorted out.

I just ordered the pork Ramen and they didn’t put the pork in the bowl. I wish I could find a number for them so I can call them and tell them thanks for not including my pork.

I’ve eaten at this truck 3 times, and I’m a bit baffled by some of the other reviews. I’m not a fan of ramen(anywhere) but I’ve had the bulgogi bowl(very good), the chicken bowl(better) and the rice buns(best of all). The rice buns are really just little sandwiches. You pretty much need two orders for lunch, but that comes to 8.80 with tax, which is what you’re going to spend at most trucks anyway. The pork belly ones were especially delicious, and unlike other reviewers mine had nice big pieces of pork belly on them.

I was disappointed. Got the pork ramen and it didn’t have any flavor. I had to add a ton of sriracha to make it edible. Even then I only had the broth because the noodles were too soggy. I think this truck is new, so I pray they get better.

I was so excited to finally see a ramen truck in DC and truly wanted to have a new go-to food truck during lunch. However, Miso Honey is a HUGE disappointment. My tonkotsu ramen was terribly unflavorful. While the portion was pretty generous, much of my ramen bowl went to waste — I just couldn’t eat this«ramen». I also ordered a pork belly and chicken steamed bao. The buns themselves were made very well, reminiscent of the ones my grandma makes. However, the buns had barely any meat, or anything else for that matter. I would like to see this truck succeed as I think it has a lot of potential being the first and only ramen truck that I know of in DC. Until they fix their recipes I won’t be coming back here.

Miso Honey stood out from the usual lineup of food trucks this afternoon. It’s a great concept, but you shouldn’t expect high quality ramen or bao from here. The pork belly bao(2 for $ 4) needs a lot of improvement. It was a mouthful of green onion/cucumber garnish atop a thin slice of flavorless pork belly. The bun split at the fold so it was more like a green onion slider on two steamed buns and pretty messy.

I ordered the«pork belly» bao buns. But after searching under the like of scallions I found a tiny little piece of meat that was supposedly the pork belly. Even for how cheap it was(2 for $ 4) I wouldn’t have ordered from this truck again. It was basically all bao bun and scallions. Might want to rethink your menu or stop being so stingy with your main components.

I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this ramen given some of the previous reviews. I’ve been to all the ramen places in DC, including Toki, Daikaya, Sakuramen, OkiBowl, etc., and while Miso Honey doesn’t quite compare to Toki(which I consider the best in the area), it can definitely hold its own. The Tonkotsu Hot Miso Ramen had good flavor and was a decent portion as well. It came with what you would typically expect in ramen, pieces of tonkotsu, bamboo, bean spouts, and seaweed. I can’t speak to the«Baos» Miso Honey serves, but if I’m looking for my ramen fix, I will definitely be back.

I’m not sure what deserves a 1 star since I don’t use Unilocal as much as most people but today I just had to leave a review. I’ve been wanting to try Miso Honey ever since the first day I saw the truck in D.C. I now regret eating there. I only tried the pork belly bao but I’ve seen enough to not want to even bother again. I’d like to think that I know good ramen and Asian cuisine but this is far from that. There was not even the smallest attempt at a good presentation and the bao was not even that warm. It tastes like something you’d warm up in the microwave. I wouldn’t recommend this truck. Even $ 4 for the quality was asking too much. From the looks of the other reviews you should probably redo the entire menu or bring someone aboard who actually has experience cooking these dishes. I give it two stars since I didn’t try the entire menu.

I ordered the chicken ramen. My noodles were overcooked and the broth seriously lacked seasoning. That’s pretty disappointing for a truck that pushes ramen as its«thing.» I wish more food trucks would focus on authenticity and flavor. I feel like this is just another overpriced gimmick. I also disliked having to say the name Miso Honeyand getting a weird look from the person who asked me where my soup came from.

I will give Miso Honey some credit. The name is creative. I don’t see any menu items that use honey here, but miso is covered. Granted, the«me so horny» line, taken from Stanley Kubrick’s epic Vietnam War era movie«Full Metal Jacket», involves a Vietnamese prostitute distracting American troops while her partner in crime robs them of a camera. For those of us who grew up in the 90s, we might remember the line as one that was constantly used to denigrate Asian women(particularly those of Vietnamese descent) by a host of misogynist men who apparently found the distasteful phrase to be humorous. Eventually, the line found its way into a 2 Live Crew song by the same name and the rest is history. Or at least it was until it was brought back by this team for their decidedly non-Vietnamese cuisine. If only the misplaced racial slur was the only criticism one could find for Miso Honey. Like many places, Miso Honey realizes that American tastes have evolved to enjoy pork belly, a previously cheap product that tastes like a bacon upgrade. Pork belly is best when it’s delectably soft, but here, it is unfortunately a bit chewy. The pork belly tacos have a somewhat tropical taste to them which is unexpected and somewhat clashing with the pork belly itself. For all the people who hate on Toki Underground, do I have a place for you for your tonkatsu ramen! The version here uses precious little salt, and there are a mere handful of options to flavor your ramen. The broth itself has no discernible flavor so perhaps this is a wise choice for those who find fault with flavorful preparations. In sum, aside from the creative yet potentially offensive name, I didn’t really enjoy this truck. If you hate Toki Underground, this might be a good selection for you. This is not how I like my ramen, but I’ll afford that reasonable minds can differ.
