I’ve been clocking Roaming Rooster for awhile now. When I saw that they were at Metro Center I snatched my coat and ran straight there! Roaming Rooster is now one of my favorite food trucks. They probably got the best chicken sandwich & fries I’ve ever had! I can’t wait to go back!!!

Okay, so I really like this food truck! I don’t eat from food trucks a whole lot and when I do, I tend to visit the same ones. I check the food truck fiesta website randomly and yesterday, I came across Roaming Rooster. I’d never heard of it and it only had two reviews on Unilocal but I decided to give it a try since it was close to my office. By the time I got close by, it was 1:45 p.m. and I could see the guy sticking his head out. Then he grabbed the stack of napkins, so knew he was getting ready to leave. When I got there, I asked if they were still taking orders and he was. I got the honey butter fried chicken sandwich with jalapeño slaw. It took less than 5 minutes to get my order and I was a little concerned that it might have been cold and rubbery. Well, it was not! It was tender and flavorful without being too salty. The slaw was good, not spicy – I think they used pickled jalapenos. I like the fact that they use free range chicken (hence the name roaming rooster). I didn’t get to try their fries but I’ll have to order that next time. I guess I have to check the food truck fiesta website more often because I think I found my favorite food truck!

OMG…this was a delicious chicken sandwich!
I got the Honey Butter Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was fresh, hot, crispy outside and juicy inside. The sandwich does come with Jalapeño Cole Slaw, so if you don’t like slaw, ask them to leave it off. It is a dry, crispy slaw with only a hint of jalapeños, so you might like it… I did!

new truck, i had there fried chicken sandwich with jalapeño coleslaw. it was one of the best food i got from food truck! the chicken was done right not to dry. the fries also was great, please come to union station.
