Had the Reuben breakfast. Shared with husband. Plenty food for two. Was good overall. A little greasy but I guess that was expected. Potatoes could have been crispy.

Came here for brunch this weekend and it was fabulous. What a beautiful historic dining room. Look straight out of some swanky 1930’s movie. Grand staircase. Huge windows overlooking a beautiful park. Went with the buffet and it was quite tasty and with a ton of options. My cousin needed gluten free options and was thrilled to see an entire section of the buffet dedicated to gluten free items. Will be going back!

Ate here for dinner with a group while attending a conference. The food was good and fresh — I had salmon and an order of asparagus — and my colleagues’ meals were fine. Just don’t eat here if you are in a hurry; service is slower than anything I’ve experienced in a long time. We had the time to spare. The décor is lovely old school too.

The food was good, but the service was agonisingly slow. We actually had to ask a busboy to find a waiter so we could order, and each step took forever. We are both lunch and dinner here on separate days and service was slow on both days. I don’t think it was a one off situation. If you do have a long time to wait, get the crab bisque! It was delicious.

This is one of the best hotel breakfast buffets anywhere! Lots of fresh fruit, giant sized-blackberries, delicious waffles, great omelet station, blueberry sausage, terrific breads, so much more. Service is good and the buffet comes with unlimited fresh squeezed juice, coffee, etc. Nice atmosphere.

This review is for the breakfast buffet. WOW. It was amazing. Pricey? Not for a buffet in a major city. Very high quality. Buffet included coffee, tea and juices. My dining companion said the omelet made for her was the best she’d ever had. The biscuits were amazing, oatmeal great, tons of fresh fruit, seasoned potato pancakes, tons of pastries, meats, yogurt and more. I only wish I had gone my first day there so I could have visited twice instead of just once!

We had the breakfast buffet heren, so far, during our stay at the Omni Shoreham Hotel here in D.C. The food was good. It was also fresh and the execution was nine. There wasn’t as many options as I expected though. Especially, if they charge thirty dollars per person, I feel like there should be more options of food not only the typical fruit, eggs, bacon and starchy options, and if you’re not a pork eater forget it then you have to be vegetarian for breakfast. The customer service was great actually, the staff was attentive, friendly, and pleasantly helpful! The restaurant itself is very nice and well kept which made it more pleasant and enjoyable to eat here. There’s also an outside patio with a beautiful view if you like to eat out for a change.

Food is Good. Service is SLOW! I had breakfast here with a business colleague. When my colleague indicated he’d like to order off the menu instead of select the breakfast buffet, our server strenuously pointed out all the merits of the buffet, including price. It was as though he really didn’t want to wait on us. We selected the buffet and then waited for the server to bring our beverages. The food on the buffet was good. The omelet station was well stocked and the omelets were well-prepared. Some of the other«hot» items could have been hotter like the breakfast potatoes and bacon which were tepid. When we were ready for our checks, it took forever to find our server and then get our checks. Thank goodness we were both guests at the hotel as I can only imagine how long it would have taken to get a credit card processed. Cost for breakfast buffet, including tax and tip came to about $ 30.

We ate here for dinner on a Wednesday in June. This restaurant is located inside the Omni Shoreham Hotel in the Woodley Park area of Washington, DC. At first glance it looks like a very upscale restaurant inside a very nice historic hotel in DC. Upon closer inspection and after dining you realize that is mostly for show. There is no dress code here. You’ll see diners in suits and ties and you’ll see diners in shorts and flip-flops. The menu is certainly priced high, but there is little justification for it outside of the décor. I ordered a Caesar Salad to start and then chose the Duck Confit for my entrée with Potato Purée and Charred Asparagus for my sides. Caesar Salad: This was good and very plentiful. Duck Confit: Not a fan. The duck came out very tender, but I didn’t detect any of the bacon vinaigrette it was supposed to come with. Consequently, there was no acid to cut the greasiness of the duck. So, every bite just tasted like duck fat. Not that duck fat isn’t awesome in its own glorious way, but it was just too much. Also, this had to be the most unimaginative and boring plating for a $ 22 entrée that I have ever seen. A leg of duck on some greens. Potato Purée: These are essentially garlic mashed potatoes, but they can’t call it that because that’s too provincial for a restaurant that sells its sides separate from its entrées. These were very tasty and creamy. Charred Asparagus: What’s not to love about this awesome vegetable that does so well on the grill and pairs so well with hollandaise? Very yummy. Entrées do not come with any sides. Sides have to be ordered separately at an additional cost, but each side can easily feed two diners. So, keep that in mind. Food was just okay overall. Plating was boring. Service was very inattentive. We had to wave our waiter down for everything. It got to be quite annoying. We had no desire to spend that much time dining, but with the service delays we didn’t have much choice. I hear their breakfast buffet targeted at hotel guests is pretty tasty. However, as a dinner choice I’d probably go elsewhere. There are so many places to eat in Woodley Park and the nearby Adams Morgan that you can definitely do better at this, or a lower, price point.

Chose to eat in our hotel for our final night in DC, which was a mistake. I had roasted salmon, hubby has filet. Salmon was fine but his beef was cooked nowhere near«medium well». Our waiter rolled his eyes and snapped his order pad when we asked for more time to peruse the menu… and from then on, we didn’t want to bother him. The water/bread guy had more personality! The best thing about dinner was the focaccia that was served with olive oil and spices before dinner. Dinner was over-priced and under-delivered, IMHO. #badwaiterproblems #robertsrestaurant #omnishorehamhoteldc

Came here for dinner, started at the bar and made reservations for our group of 7. We sat in the couch area outside the lobby which was nice and cozy. Drinks were reasonably priced and the server was very nice. We made it over to our table, we definitely didn’t need reservations as there were only 3 other tables occupied on a Saturday night. Maybe it was just an off night, but it was not crowded at all. Later that evening, we went out to the garden in the back. I wish we had known they had outside tables because it was so nice and lush! The indoor seating area was very pretty though, a huge old room with lots of light and ornate decorations. We all ordered drinks and our food. Drinks came quickly, and they poured both the wine and the hard liquors very generously. Sadly, they were out of the corned beef hash, which we were excited to try. Salads and soup came 15 minutes after we ordered, and entrees came 15 minutes after salad. All the salads were solid! They were large and were dressed well. Everyone enjoyed their entrée, but it was somewhere we would eat at again for convenience when we stay at the hotel, but otherwise not be bothered. The service was alright. They didn’t take the salad plates when they were empty, and instead had to juggle plates when they brought the entrees. Also, the valet is free when you show them your receipt from the restaurant.

Sunken dining area, efficient service, great breakfast buffet all in a top tier hotel nestled in NWDC. Roberts is just slightly overpriced for some but the quality of food, location near a metro that’s out of the city’s center and the ambiance of it all including the hotel make it a pleasurable experience. Morning buffet runs around $ 20/person, not bad! Blueberry sausage patties=love

I generally avoid hotel restaurants unless I’m stranded, but my dinner companion had mobility issues, so we decided to try Roberts(no apostrophe). They had a few historic dishes on the menu to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Omni Shoreham hotel. I asked the waiter about the texture of the rockfish with grilled peaches, and was disappointed that he couldn’t describe it, but decided to order it anyway. He was, however, fully prepared to suggest a side since this was apparently also a 1930s portion. I learned later that rockfish refers to some 70 species of fish(fish are often renamed for marketing purposes, consider how dolphin fish became the more socially acceptable and exoticized mahi-mahi); so I could have been eating Pacific snapper, black bass, or a venomous fish from the Indo-Pacific. It had a medium firm texture with medium flakes, and a very mild, nutty flavor. There was half a stewed tomato and half a grilled peach on the plate, which complemented the fish quite nicely, and it took on a nice buttery flavor from a slab of pimento studded butter. My 21st century belly conceded to a side of roasted maitake mushrooms, which had a great, firm texture but would have benefitted from a bit more seasoning. There were very few people in the restaurant, but I noticed an army of about a dozen staff milling around by the entrance. Overall, a surprisingly good meal, but with all of the culinary adventures to be had in DC, more of a place of circumstance than a destination.

Breakfast! The bacon is just so crispy I cannot even describe it properly. SOGOOD. So, you can order a la carte or get the buffet. Get the buffet. Orange juice is $ 5 alone so it makes sense. There is a ton of food to choose from. Bacon, sausage, quiche, potatoes, yogurt, granola, fruit, waffles, scrambled eggs, breads, bagels etc. And an OMELET station! It was $ 22.50 with bottomless orange juice and coffee. The day my partner went back home he popped in for breakfast before his flight. Again, a winner. If you’re staying at the Shoreham definitely try out Roberts for breakfast. We were pretty full until 3pm and saved on not having to eat a huge lunch, because let’s be real — we stuffed our faces at breakfast.

Love, Love, Love Robert’s for breakfast while staying at the Omni!!! The bacon… what can I say to describe it? We come here every two years(live in Florida) and we can’t wait for the bacon!!! The servers are wonderful. They want to make you happy. If you are having the Buffet and there is something you want not on it they will make it for you. The pancakes are amazing. Ask to be seated in Syed’s section. He will take care of you! Enjoy.

The food was just ok. The view was Spectacular if you seat outside on the patio. We had a bad experience for my kids dish. There was only one dish with pasta and«tomato sauce“and, when we were ordering I specifically asked if it was spicy for my kids. The waiter said«not spicy». The pasta arrived, we tried it and of course my kids could not eat it. I thought they were exagerating, so I tried and indeed was very spicy and no flavor of tomato sauce. My kids did not eat anything and we did not even got a discount on the check or remove it! Overpriced for what they offer.

I am giving them two stars just because of the terrible service. Based on food alone it would be a 4⁄5. It was very irritating that our waitress could barely speak English and couldn’t tell my ten year old daughter what was on a salad that she wanted to order. Waited forever for drinks that we ordered, had to ask twice and then get up and ask a buser for ketchup for the kids fries that the manager forgot. It’s to bad because the corned beef and stuffed cabbage was great but I don’t think id go back. When there’s 3 tables in a restaurant the staff should be tripping over themselves to make sure you have everything you need and that just doesn’t happen here.

Wow… from 5 stars to 1 star just like that. As I explained below, we started a new tradition a couple of years ago of going to the Omni for the Christmas Dinner buffet. We went this year as well, except for some reason, the buffet was gone and all we were left with was a really poor menu of unappetizing sounding food. We reserved our table through Open Table. I had the choice of a 3:30pm or 6:00pm reservation. Neither time was ideal, but we went with the 6:00pm. Now nowhere on Open Table, nor the Roberts Restaurant/Omni web site, nor any of the correspondence we received about the reservation did it ever say that by choosing the later time, we would be forgoing the buffet entirely, which apparently was shut down at 3:30 this year. This is just a terrible lack of communication on the restaurants part, which quite literally ruined our Christmas dinner. Instead of a buffet, they just had a menu where not a single item sounded good enough to stay there and eat. And giving there was not a single other person at the restaurant at that time, I don’t think we were alone in thinking that. So we just left, and lucky the Irish Pub across the street was open, so we had an ‘Irish’ Christmas dinner there instead. Roberts will be forever known as the Grinch that stole Christmas Dinner.

This is a review for the breakfast buffet in case anyone wants to know if it is worth booking a room at the Omni Shoreham with the breakfast included package. I could not find any information on the Internet about the breakfast buffet. It is normally $ 10 more than the room charge. They also have a Zoo Package for about $ 20 more where you can get breakfast and some kind of zoo souvenier. News flash, the zoo is free, so why would you pay extra to get into the zoo?! Yes, it is worth getting for an additional $ 10 because the breakfast is normally $ 20. There is a lack of other breakfast options in the neighborhood(two block radius for me, I did not have time to walk far), and the hotel’s quick breakfast options are pricey and limited. When we had breakfast there, the restaurant was mostly empty, with a lot of waitstaff. I guess it’s a combination of the prices and intimidating ambiance. However, once you sit down, the waiters are so helpful and attentive, coming back over and over to see if you need anything. For breakfast, there are several stations. There is the hot food station with such breakfast items(varying daily) as eggs Benedict with crab meat(fabulous), scrambled eggs with salsa(the salsa was not good and strong on weird spices for my taste), bacon, etc. Then there are the cold items such as lox, capers, onions, prosciutto, salami, etc. There is a chef who can make you an omelete with different ingredients of your choice. You can also get Belgian waffles, pancakes, bagels, muffins, croissants, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, etc. A wide variety of fresh fruit is also available, such as cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapples, bananas, etc. So, you can get just about anything you want for breakfast there. The waiter brought coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice to our table. I highly recommend getting the breakfast package.

I had to cancel my reservation at Obelisk because my work party grew to more than six folks… ten to be exact. Roberts Restaurant was able to accommodate us with no problem. I read the reviews and was a little apprehensive. When we showed up, the place was largely empty which I thought to be a bad omen. All I have to say is that they pulled out the stops and really made our function very pleasant. The food was terrific as well. I agree with other Unilocalers when they describe the concrete-like bread, but the olive oil dip was tasty. If there was one thing to improve, the bread is definitely that thing. We had a couple bottles of wine, which satisfied the table.(We were working, remember) I had the coffee/cocoa fillet. It was cooked perfectly and the crusting on the steak was fantastic. Hints of chocolate in the crust really made the meat taste wonderful. It was a new experience for me. I had mine with the garlic mashed potatoes which were served in a martini glass. Interesting choice of delivery medium. Not out of this world, but come on. Garlic mashed potatoes? Mmmmmm. I had the mango sorbet for dessert. Two HUGE scoops. I thought this was a bit too much for dessert. I only ate a little of my dessert. Others skipped dessert. Maybe cutting down on the portion size would be in order here. The sorbet was OK. Again, the wait staff was wonderful. I have no complaints about my experience here. Four stars.
