We heard the phrase that Costumer is a King. And people usually buy from the people they like. A good sales person need to always have a bright smile and greeting politely to each costumer that step in to the store, a pleasant attitude is a must and a way to go. Not the case at this place unfortunately. Today during my lunch hour, I decided to stroll down 18th street and step in to this seemingly interesting store at first. I was greeted rudely by a woman who was obviously on the phone and start yelling at me, excuse me! Did you not see the sign at the door? And she was continue yelling at me the second time without putting down the phone, mam! did you not see the sign? Put your coffee cup on the counter, I put a big sign, you didn’t read it? Wooww! I thought to my self, chill out lady, I just step in, she can at least say welcome? Or ask me politely to put my empty coffee on the counter? That’s right, my cup is actually empty since I finish drinking my coffee. Well, my excitement to shop at this store turn off right away, it doesn’t matter how many shoes they carry and perhaps could be some potential items I can buy, but since the service is sucks, unfriendly and rude, I loose my appetite to shop. Instead I walked away from this store and stroll down to other store not too far from there, and get my goodies from there. :)

With an office just around the corner, I’ve spent many a lunch hour at Lara’s. You can score some incredible deals on high-end brands. Perfect for a bargain hunter like me that loves the quality and craftsmanship but is far too sensible with my bank account to pay full price. I’ve picked up everything from cute casual sneaker type shoes to sandals to wonderful ankle boots. I’ve even run in for something suitable for a last minute business meeting on a day I was caught unprepared wearing my Merrell mocs. Macys down the street might have a wider selection, but Lara’s gives them a run for their money and hands down beats them on price time after time.

Lots of shoes in here from every brand you can think of. This place is awesome when they have a 70% off sale, or their 2 for $ 70 or one pair for $ 39 deal(even though I didn’t find most of the shoes in this deal to be cute, more so the 70% off ones). And on the 70% off racks, they have everything from Fendi, Prada, Giuseppi Zanotti, Pour la Victorie, Elizabeth and James… basically so many awesome high-end brands. I scored $ 250 pumps(which get lots of compliments) for $ 75. I have a few pairs of shoes from this store, actually. But you’re not likely to get them in their original box. I never have shopping here(I agree with the other poster about them possibly being reruns). It’s only worth going when there’s a sale. Too pricey otherwise, IMO. But I’m also frugal and want a great deal when it comes to shopping, so…

Let’s say you find everything and nothing in this store. There are great label as Marc by Marc Jacobs, BCBG, etc… and when the sales are on, you can find some at 70% off! I have to say that I went there this morning, and I found a great pairs of open toed in purple by BCBG at $ 54.00!($ 180,00 minus 70%) !! There are also lots of ugly shoes, it has to be said…

I must be a frequent shopper here, because when I walked in the door during my recent trip last week the saleswoman said«Hello, long time, no see!» with a huge smile on her face. I guess I keep her business afloat. She was too occupied with a personal call the rest of the time, but as usual I got cute shoes for a decent price(two pairs for $ 70). I wasn’t tempted by the earring rack like I normally am, the watches called to me instead.

Plenty of pricey shoes, but you can find some great bargains in the back 2 rows/shelves. I’ve probably bought 3 pairs there. They have fun bracelets, too. The main shopkeeper(owner?) is a little standoffish, but nice once you talk to her(she is usually on the phone). Keep in mind: sometimes the shoes look like they might be «reruns»(used). Generally not an issue, but be aware if that gives you the creeps.
