Food was okay, don’t get the soup of the day. The menu offers veggies with your entre. However, the asparagus is supposed to come with the crab cakes. Instead I got some kind of weird succotash. Also service was slower than normal, but friendly nonetheless. This place way pricey though. Wouldn’t have minded paying for better quality food. But it just wasn’t there.

This place is located in the Holiday Inn on C Street near Capitol Hill. It’s a great buffet with many different food options as well it is reasonably priced. The salad bar was kept fully stocked and had a pleasant variety of items to choose from. I went with a large group of coworkers and we encountered no problems. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was very clean. It can get really busy during lunchtime so I’d suggest making a reservation or getting there before noon. It’s definitely worth trying and I will surely be back.

Located under the Holiday Inn at 550 C Street, one block from the North exit of L’Enfant Metro Stop, Smithsons is a good, wholesome purveyor of comfort hotel food. You’re not going to get Pheasant under Glass, Beef Wellington or Duck a l’orange, but instead will be treated to a great, reasonably priced lunch and dinner buffet and an a-la-carte selection that will suit all palates. Very popular with the DOE, FEMA and tourist crowds. Steady performer.
