Smoothie King

Fast friendly service and a delicious product. I tried the the Pumpkin Smoothie which was out special for fall, and it was delicious.

Paid this place a visit during my vacation to DC. Awesome smoothie at a good price (considering that the portion was huge for a small).

I only get the Banana Boat Smoothie and it tasted ok most of the time I got it. Its just too expensive for a smoothie.

I’ve been to this location several times I like to frequent them at least twice a month this place fall short of 5 stars only because of an experience I had with one cashier
whom upon me asking her if she could separate my large smoothie which cost around $ 11 into two separate cups I was told no I couldn’t do that even though it had been done before
it put a bad taste in my mouth
I will continue to frequent this location I will just avoid going there when this particular cashier is there
she was rude and her delivery and not very personable

This is my last smoothie king smoothie. They’ve never been good but I thought I would give it one last try since I wasn’t near a tropical smoothie café. I ordered the mocha almond smoothie skinny with no protein. All I taste is protein. They always taste full of protein. So disappointing.

Horrible customer service. Clearly poor management. Let’s say you had a coupon and left it in the office or at home. They will not make a courtesy for you. It’s obvious you are aware of it, and if you’re not a repeat offended a little relationship goes a long way.

It was my first time visiting and having a smoothie from smoothie king. I wasn’t impressed. I’ll stick with my smoothies from tropical smoothie or robeks. There is a difference in taste. I thought it was way over priced for a small pineapple passion, almost $ 9! I added two supplements, but this is way more than what I’m charged for at tropical smoothie.

The smoothies here are satisfying however the customer service could use a little work. Unfortunately, I bought a strawberry banana smoothie and within 5 minutes of having it, dropped it all over the floor. I returned to the store with the busted cup in hand explaining my situation but they insisted they could do nothing for me. This was a bit frustrating because the smoothie was delicious but, not tasty enough to pay twice. Other than that, the experience was quick and efficient. I was in and out. It is also fairly healthy which serves as very beneficial.

Blehghkh. That’s the sound I made when I re-​tried Smoothie King. Everything tastes like very, very ripe bananas. I think banana is the only real fruit they use, everything else seems to be syrups.
Cleanliness also seems to be a potential issue here. Take a look around. Also, Brittney K. reports a form of food poisoning here. Yikes!!!
Not recommended for someone on any sort of diet or someone trying to avoid bad foods. Also not recommended for someone that believes in value for the price paid.

It is located just south of the Chinatown metro in the alley by Chipolte. $ 5.87 for a small which is at least 16 oz in my est. They have an array of healthy drink smoothies. I couldn’t see if they use fresh or frozen fruits. The Goji kiwi skinny was good and light and half the carbs.

I’m definitely being very gracious with the two star rating, I’m giving this Particular location after I got food poisoning from here. The strawberry kiwi smoothie that I had there definitely made me sick. It’s no fun having food poisoning, it’s one of the most uncomfortable things you can experience. I know someone out there feels my pain.
The only reason why I went to this over priced smoothie place was because of a coupon I had. $ 1.99 for a 20oz smoothie. Needless to say I won’t be back here. If I feel the desire to ever go back I’ll go to the Arlington (Pentagon Row) or Connecticut Ave one, which are more professional, and not to mention I never got food poisoning either! SMH

My «Angel Food» smoothie tasted heavy on the sugar and light on the strawberries and bananas. Way too sweet!
So much for trying the liquid diet for lunch!

I knew the drinks would be overpriced at this place– any smoothie to be found in Chinatown/​Penn Quarter is overpriced as far as I am concerned… but the quality of the «food» and «service» was much worse than I anticipated.
On the food– What the franchise bills as a «nutritional lifestyle» beverage is just sugar juice, ice, and powder– as another reviewer mentioned. From the name, I thought there would be different «natural» options, such as real fruit ingredients. And so much for variety. Practically everything on the menu has strawberry and banana flavors in it. There is also no mention of what vitamins or minerals are in the drinks… likely because the ingredients are nutrient-​poor.
On the service– gah! I used an entire lunch break to pick up a smoothie from this place because the service was so darn slow. I also got my drink way before somebody that ordered before me. It seemed like the people behind the counter did not have their process together. The nail in the coffin on this place is that it serves beverages in styrofoam cups with the slogan, «chewing is overrated.» Really? For billing itself as a «nutritional lifestyle center,» the place sure is tacky. Gross.
Never again, Smoothie King!

This place sucks.
The smoothies are sub par. The service is terrible. That should be enough to merit 1 star.
I’d give 0 if I could perhaps even –1.
For 5.49 for a small (which is rather high for a piece of crap drink) they didn’t even fill up my smoothie to the top. It was probably ⁵⁄₆ full. I asked the cashier why they didn’t fill it up all the way, he shrugged, looked at me, then said, «next…» and went to attend the next customer.
I shall never return. Smoothie Crap would be a more accurate name honestly.

This place is terrible! There is nothing «smoothie» about this place. It is literally the worst smoothie I’ve ever had. For example: FRUIT at this place is EXTRA. What kind of smoothie place has fruit as extra?! It’s absolutely ridiculous. Their basic smoothies are all made out of ice, powdered fruit flavoring, and protein powder or wheat germ. Who wants to eat a smoothie like that? When you drink your smoothie all you can taste is the powder sliding across your tongue, it’s disgusting. There were no raspberries in my raspberry sunrise which was supposed to be made of rasberries and protein powder. Yea right. And my friend that went with me literally threw his away after walking 2 blocks.
By the way, they charge $ 5 for a small for this lovely experience. $ 6.50 for a medium and $ 8 for a large.
Another great thing about this place is their customer service. Because they don’t hire people who speak english, it’s hard to communicate. On top of that, they don’t let you create your own fruit combinations because they have pre-​set smoothies you have to pick from their list (probably because they don’t mix real fruit together, but powdered fruit flavoring, it’s harder to change the recipe). So when I wanted a raspberry-​peach smoothie I was told they didn’t have that and I could pick from their mango, pineapple, banana, raspeberry, or some other crazy combo. Or of course I could pay the 99 cents extra to add peaches to my ice/​powder smoothie. Ughhhh. DO NOT go here.

Not another addiction close to work! I have been a fan of Smoothie King since they started popping up in the burbs of Maryland. I am a huge fan of the Green Tea Tango. Although the service at the 7^th street location could improve i am willing to accept it because you can not go wrong with their Smoothies.
If you think you are a true Smoothie connoisseur I suggest trying Smoothie King.
