This is the worst Subway I’ve been to in DC. Bread is stale, soda lacks carbonation, and generally dirty. When I mentioned to staff that soda lacked carbonation he did nothing.

Absolutely filthy. It has been closed for health violations, reopens, the becomes filthy in no time.

It’s a little haphazard and not very new looking or clean but at least this one unlike the one on M St. has a bathroom.

I was overcharged $ 1.50 and what should have been a simple 3 second transaction turned into a 7 minute argument about tax that included calculators and bad promises. All I wanted was my $ 5 black forest ham foot long combo and he charged me for a $ 6.50 roasted chicken foot long which was clearly printed on my receipt. Next time I’ll just go to the subway around the corner.

Up the hill in Georgetown there is another Subway, and it’s newer, cleaner, and roomier(with actual tables) than the M Street location. They seem to be trying to draw competition away from the older location, and they are doing it with friendliness, of all things. Immeasurably more friendly than the jerks at the Subway on the GU campus, the guys running this location actively and thoughtfully greeted me, asked if I’d been in there before(I had not), and were more-than-casually friendly with a couple of others who they seemed to recognize from prior visits. …at a Subway!!! Unbelievable!!!
