Subway Liquors II

Don’t let the location of Subway Liquors II prevent you from patronizing this nice little package store. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful always seem delighted to see the «new neighbors» drop in.
This very clean store has a decent selection of liquors, as well as wine and beer. If there’s something they don’t carry, let them know and they’re happy to see if they can get it for you!
I hope Subway Liquors II won’t be bought out by developers and stick around well after the new condos open (City Vista, Dumont, Madrigal Lofts). It will supplement the neighborhood well and definitely drive up their business.
For now, I recommend not walking there alone, especially after dark. Nonetheless, they beat out any of the stores on H St NW for service, selection and friendliness.
UPDATE: I believe Subway Liquors II is still open, however, tragic events happened at the store on August 14^th, 2007. The owner and co-​owner were shot and sadly neither one survived more than a couple weeks. What are people thinking?! My thoughts go out to their families.
I sure hope the city does something to help this newly developed area feel a bit safer.
