Destined to go out of business due to over charging. If you hate your money or you’re mad at your money and want to get rid of it, this is your place! Otherwise go to one of the many other places to spend your money. I get it that businesses have light bills, employee salaries and other expenses… They have to make money… But charging $ 3.70 for a 20 oz. soda! That’s unreasonable bordering on unethical. Dear Sugar Factory, Sorry, that extra $ 1.70 that you got off of me for soda has offended me. I generally avoid speaking in absolutes but I can, with confidence, say that I will never be your customer again… I will never speak well of your company.

Large unique drinks! Went here with two friends and we shared multiple drinks. I enjoyed the drinks, but this place is way over crowded! There’s really no where to sit, but it is just a small space inside of Union Station. I’m looking forward to the visiting the Sugar Factory location coming to Pentagon City!

Since when did a candy store become the slummy bar while waiting for a train/taxi/metro/whatever? Seriously, the clientele is what you’d expect of a bar with bars in the windows, not a candy store. And the candy they do sell is wayyyy overpriced! I can get the same candy for a buck at dollar tree. STAYAWAY!

If no star was an option I would’ve chosen that! The place has to be about 175SQFT. So not what I expected. Huge let down. Bottom line this place is RACHET and ghetto!

The clientele of this place brings it down. My friends and I went on a Friday night. They have music playing and security at the door. There is maybe 10 chairs in the whole place(not kidding), so we had to stand at the entrance and order our drinks. My friend ordered the big drink(which I think is like $ 30) and she says it was watered down. I ordered a smaller a «goblet» I believe which was ok, minus the fact I had to stand and drink while ppl with no drinks at all sat down… seriously! Bottom line save your money and go have a REAL drink this place isn’t worth it.

Its a small space so I wouldn’t recommend staying here to long. I went in and the one of the employees asked if I needed help. I told her I was fine and then she was back again and it felt like she was trying to rush me however she did give me tips on the refillable candy jar that they have there. So I just got gumballs instead. The gumballs were fresh and didn’t taste stale.

I was able to convince the Happy Hour crew to leave the other place we were at & try out Sugar Factory. I was slightly surprised none of them knew of the SF, as much as they gulp down mid day & after work drinks at Union Station… someone has to be the Leader. I forewarned them of the concept as they clearly didn’t believe me & as soon as we walked in, these grown adults became little kids in a candy store, literally. I have a specific sweet tooth for Bleep Blips aka Mega Bytes, Hot Tamales & Sweet/Sour Jawbreakers/Gum Balls & of course Vegan Chocolate — not an item, yet. I was positively disappointed that they were out of stock of my Bleep Blips, yet Jason was on my heels to his heels to speak with the Manager to inquire. In a flash, he was back to let me know that she was going to place an order that night & they would be in stock next Wednesday, I’ll be back for my BB. While everyone was doing their oohing & aahings, I presented the cocktail menu to them & witness more facial expressions as they went through it almost 3x’s. The signature cocktail seems to be the Goblets, the 60 oz Signature Drink, that can also be made without alcohol as many of the customers were sipping them down. They offer speciality names such as the Berry Bliss & Ocean Blue to name a few. Two out of three ordered Long Island Ice Teas… really, at a place of sweet uniqueness? SMH. one must step out of the cocktail box. My Sis expanded her imagination & opted for the Peace, Love & Harmonie, a pretty in pink(I thought of Molly Ringwald for some odd reason) hue type of Margarita with Hpnotiq Harmonie and natural fruits & a hint of rose. She ENJOYED it to say the least. Konfectionary Kudos to the Bartender Kristin, how was amazing not only with her contagious spirit & customer service skills, yet mixing abilities was amazing. Aside from the candy hat is present in over 50 + dispensing containers, their ‘couture’ pops, ice cream bar, they also retail fashion. I do hope they decide to open another location in the DMV for the eatery aspect as I viewed the menus from NY, MIA, ORL&CHI. It offers a rare culinary tying into sweets creations/recipes. & talk about vision & capitalizing on an international spectrum, they opened their first retail store inBahrain last summer and plan on opening more locations in Manila, Philippines & Dubai… the mile high candy club. The entire staff was beyond awesome, it’s a quaint atmosphere with Satellite radio(my guess) blasting the top hits of Hip Hop/Pop/R&B, in a very immaculate & organized space. If you haven’t tried this candyland of confectionary concoctions of both candy & cocktails, it’s a must you that do.

Drinks are decent, but not worth the high price. The place is way too small and it is impossible to get service. The Sugar Factory attracts a very ghetto crowd.

I went to the sugar factory for the first time when I saw it taking the metro at the union station. Conveniently located(for me since I was in transit) waiting for the train. I am in love with this store, the atmosphere, and everything about this store. However, the reason it only gets 4 stars is because service was very slow when I went. It was during happy hour, and in my opinion it was way too slow. The place was also PACKED, so go early if you’re wanting to go during happy hour. The choices during happy hour were okay, honestly wasn’t worth it to me. I ended up ordering the lollipop passion, and it wasn’t on the happy hour menu, so if your wanting to get a goblet, skip happy hour and go when it’s less packed. Overall, this was definitely a great experience. One of my favorite places in DC that i visited, and definitely worth the hype.

It was pretty cool! Wish they had food. The drink Bae and I got was great. We were lit! I also purchased the peace, love, and harmonie margarita. That was delicious! We’re going back tonight.

The three ladies working were superb with their customer service. They were friendly and knowledgable when I had questions about the drinks. I ordered a frozen hot chocolate and it was delicious, creamy with the perfect amount of sweetness. It’s a cute little store and I was surprised to see they sell a lot of drinks and small sweet bites, including ice cream. I didn’t have issues with wait time, could be that I’m here at 1PM on a Thursday.

Let’s start out with the place being to small, the service was slow and the bartender was not to pleasant. Its was my Birthday and the first drink was delicious, the second drink wasn’t to tastey and I wanted to send it back. The Bartender suggested that I couldn’t return for whatever reason. She was less than kind about it, I didn’t understand her communication as to why I couldn’t return the drink that I just spent $ 32.00 on, but needlesstosay I won’t be returning because of her attitude and lack of caring trying to accommodate me because I was not pleased with my drink. Not kool Sugar Factory not kool at all.

Hyper youth appeal and yes! They do offer a television… I missed this when I first checked in. But saw it perched above the glitzy wall offering a dizzying deletion of sweet treats to accompany your too sweet drink. I wasn’t brave enough to taste(nor foolish enough to spend $$) on one of the drinks which seemed to have smoke/Steam coming off the top. One of the few places open at late hour in Union Station, this place seems to be selling bar concept to the underage crowd. I swore the 8 yo(?) little girl across from me sitting on a bar stool chewing on gum drops & sipping a drink half her size was wearing eye shadow and liner! Definitely a place to let your wanna-be-grown roam … If you don’t mind the consequences down the road… Dangerous! Pics of the Kardashians adorn the walls… Is this a business experiment for them?

They have great servers with excellent customer service. But the location is very small and tight. If you go on the weekend it’s likely that there will be no room. It’s first come first serve so I you don’t want a wait this is not the place to go. Over all had a great time. Milkshakes are awesome

The customer service was terrible. I sat at the bar for 10 minutes and was never approached by a bartender. It sucks having to get someone else’s attention just to spend your money. I won’t be coming back to this spot.

It was my first time taking the metro from the airport into Union Station– not bad! I’m from LA, and heard about Sugar Factory in Hollywood but never got a chance to check it out. So, I was excited to see what it was about. The first time I stopped by was about a month ago, and it was so crowded, I couldn’t really get serviced, but I was told that it’s only like that on Friday and Saturday nights. So, I decided to check back another time. I went back last night with some friends even though I warned them it would be packed. To my surprise, we were greeted and serviced the moment we stepped in. Although it was packed, I felt comfortable that we would be taken care of. Our server was amazing. We watched her tend to a ton of customers, squeezing her way through the store to make sure everyone was okay, and still made sure to check on us every few minutes. The service was so great and it was filled with people having a good time that we didn’t mind standing at all, but to our luck, some counter space and seating opened up not too long after we got our drinks :) Ps. I had no idea this bar had such fancy drinks. So cute and sweet! They come with candy and those goblets really do smoke and bubble. So fun! My suggestions for a busy night, if you can’t make it in early: — Don’t be intimidated by the crowd! They truly do their best to accommodate you. Just get in there and work with the flow of it ;) — Put your order in as you’re standing, and keep an eye out for people getting ready to leave. It’s first come, first serve for seating and it sure is limited! — Make sure you have someone to share a goblet with– they’re huge! — It’s not a restaurant, so eat first. There’s some pretty good restaurants in Union Station. Uno’s was open when we were there :) — It’s not a spot for large parties to hang out for long periods, unfortunately. You’ve got to be in and out here. Maybe during the slower weekdays? I heard it’s a totally different setting on off-peak days. Perfect spot to pre-game ;) Good luck guys! And Kudos to a hard working staff! 5 stars, hands down– You all were fantastic!

So excited to see this brand in Washington DC. The drinks are delicious! My friend and I split the Mai Tai Goblet. This was a pleasant surprise coming off the Amtrak in Union Station. It was smaller than their other locations; however, they had a full bar menu which is all I cared about!

I came by on a Friday, another week, and it was crawling with people… so much so that I left. Today is a Monday and much less crowded. I sat at the bar and the rude, poorly dressed store attendant didn’t say one word to me and stayed at a nearby table with friends. I have no idea if they work here or not. She glanced over a couple of times but did not make any moves to go behind the counter nor ask if I needed anything. Now that I’ve been standing outside for 5 more minutes I see another worker emerge from the back of the store. This place is seriously lacking management and professional skills. I see new visitors in the store and they also have not been addressed. Now that I’ve been outside more minutes I see the friends at the table actually DO work here as well, LMAO, WTF? I decided to not spend my hard earned money at this over priced spot. Coincidentally I visited the one in Miami a couple of days ago… so this is a miniature replica without food. Good luck when and if you visit. Union Station is a pretty shitty location for this establishment.

Stopped in. Loud, bright, uncomfortable seating. Over-priced, crappy(artificial) candy and drinks. No reason to go back unless I want to get fat or diabetes and waste money. Meeting the owner sealed the decision to not go back.

Surprised this business wasn’t added to Unilocal yet but I went ahead and did the deed. I’ve heard a lot of hype about Sugar Factory over the years and now DC has one in Union Station! Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed. It is important to note that this Sugar Factory location is a store with a bar and not a restaurant like the locations many may be familiar with. This means that you only have the choice of getting a goblet, specialty or regular cocktail, dessert, or, of course, candy. The store is pretty small but I can’t see anyone spending any longer than 30 minutes at the bar or table so it seems to work out. The good — there are a lot of candy options so if if you’re a candy lover, you’ll enjoy this place. I’m not sure of the prices since I didn’t purchase any. The employees are really nice. Not sure of the gentleman’s name that helped me but he was very friendly and funny, I enjoyed his service. The bad — The bar is quite uncomfortable as it is basically like sitting at a wall, you have to either sit far back or turn your legs to the side so that your knees don’t bump against the bar. Not sure who came up with this construction but my boyfriend and I quickly moved to a table. Also, the drinks are too sweet! We shared a goblet and could barely taste the alcohol. I know this is sugar factory but if I’m paying $ 30 for an alcoholic beverage, I expect to taste alcohol. This probably wouldn’t have been so bad if I could have had fries or something salty to balance it out but considering that everything on the menu is sweet, it was a little much. You’re really paying for the 10 second dry ice show when the bartender pours the drink into the goblet. Would I go back? Definitely not for the drinks but maybe if I’m in the area and want candy.
