This place is my go to! Walking distance from work, right on the waterfront for those nice days, and the food is solid. Their salads are HUGE and very fresh. Everything I have eaten here has been amazing. The owners are there every day, and the staff is wonderful.

I randomly walked into this wonderful place by chance with my team, and let me tell you, it really is the best sandwich place. I had the ham sandwich and it was DEEEEE-LICIOUS!

I can’t figure out how i feel about this place. I work in the building across the street and it’s a fine choice for a quick lunch. The salads are big, and sandwiches stuffed, so you know you won’t go hungry. It’s kind of expensive– around 8 dollars for a sandwich and around 10 for a salad. But that’s Georgetown, and DC for ya! Their cookies are super yummy with the big chunks. Some of the highlights i like are their asian rice salad, auper lite salad, and the burger. Alright breakfast sandwiches too– you just leave smelling like fried meat.

I’ve been here several times but haven’t been able to get around to review it. If I had reviewed it earlier it might’ve received better reviews but due to this last visit I have to give it a lower rating. While it is called the best sandwich shop, the best items to order are either a burger or a salad. The burgers are nice and juicy and come with two patties so they’re very filling and a bit messy to eat. I always go for the bacon cheese spicy burger. The salads are also just as great. I’m not a salad person ATALL and I’ve never seen the point in buying salads when you can easily make it at home, so when I say I actually have gone here several times to pick up a salad, it must be pretty good. It also comes in a giant portion that’ll leave you struggling to finish it. The pomegranate chicken salad and the super lite salad are must tries. Now where they fail is in the actual sandwiches. I’ve ordered both a melt sandwich and hot sub and both have fallen short. The taste just seemed off and all the ingredients didn’t seem to go together and ended up giving the sandwich a peculiar taste. I haven’t ordered a sandwich since. The other reason I had to give a lower rating was for the staffing. The ladies at the salad bar are wonderful but I can’t say the same for those working the sandwich line. After running out of an ingredient, at lunchtime, rather than allowing me to exchange it for another ingredient I was told I would be charged extra. It was difficult communicating to the staffer who was making my sandwich so when the manager, I assume, walked up I thought he’d be more helpful. However, he was very rude when I explained to him the issue and said nothing could be done but to pay more. Which I didn’t understand how at your prime time for consumers, and several hours away from closing, you run out of a key ingredient and fail to provide an alternative for the customer and rather expect them to pay more for it. The stinginess and rude attitude from the manager rubbed me the wrong way and I’ll definitely have to think twice before I go there again.

TBSP is a great place to grab something quick and go! I love love love the chipotle chicken melt and used to be a huge fan of their Caesar salads but I have to say the last couple of times I went and had the chicken Caesar the chicken taste like it was from a can it was not fresh at all which is unlike them but I have 3 bad salads out of at least 50! Now the steak they use for the salad is not steak at all UGH worst meat(I hope) I ever had n my life! The portions are big so I guess that’s the justification for $ 10 salads and $ 9 sandwiches! You will def be full after eating and the variety of sandwiches and salads they offer is amazing! Pricey but worth it! And the customer service isn’t bad either

I got the grilled chicken salad. Fast service, large portions for the price, nice seating inside and outside by the water, and high rollers all around! Can’t complain ;)

When you charge $ 8.99 for a Chicken Ceaser Salad that consists of lettuces, chicken and cheese, but want to charge $ 2 for ½ a cup tomatoes and cucumbers, you’ll end up w/an entirely wasted salad and no $ 8.99. There are plenty of other extras to charge for. taking advantage of me for wanting more whole foods in your over priced salad is a recipe for me to never go to your business and explicitly tell others to avoid you as well. Poor form.

Why can’t I order a salad with only Arugula? Please listen to your customers and let them order whatever they want. If Arugula is really that much more expensive than the ‘mixed greens’ which is from what I can tell, Romaine, then just allow us to upgrade.

A terrific place for sandwiches! Honestly, this is my most favorite sandwich place in all of Golden Triangle(and I’ve tried almost all of them). Delicious sandwiches with an enormous variety of options plus you can add chips and a drink for just $ 1. Don’t let yourself be so easily persuaded by the nearby food court. I walk 6 blocks to get to this place even though there are plenty of sandwich places that are more convenient because this one is the only one worth going to.

I normally only write bad reviews, because I have to be especially motivated to visit Unilocal and warn others about some bad experience. But, this review is different. This sandwich shop is a perfect place for lunch. Really. As anyone who works in Georgetown knows, getting a halfway-edible lunch under $ 20 is difficult. But you can eat at TbSP for $ 10. Yes — 10 bux. And, there are healthy options like large salads and vegetarian /vegan options. In addition to a decent value, I want to give a special shout-out to the owners who run this shop. They are both really, really nice guys – always friendly and greet everyone with a smile.(I know this cant’ be easy.) Most folks in Georgetown are rushed, stressed, and often rude. The owners, usually found up front at the checkout, erase that negative edge with smiles. Finally, you can’t beat the nice setting – a sidewalk café right near the Potomac. Pick a nice Spring day to visit this shop and enjoy the outdoor seating.

For years I’ve patronized TBSP. The food is good and the location is within a close proximity to my job. When the location was under its former owner, I often experienced bad service. NOTE: The service on the sandwich line is great!!! Zero complaints. However, if you’re getting something from the soup or salad line, don’t expect excellent service. Recently I decided to patronize the location more because of a change in ownership. The new owners are extremely friendly! With the prior owners I experienced being overcharged many times and had several back and forth conversations with the person working the register(I assume she was the owner) as to whether or not I was being charged correctly. I have not had this issue under the new ownership. However, today as I waited in the salad line to make my order, not only was I not acknowledged, but the attendant continued with what she was doing as if I were invisible. At that point I was the only person in line. Shortly after another gentleman walked in and neither was he acknowledged. Eventually I walked out and grabbed food elsewhere. I was really disappointed because I actually like the food. Guess I’ll just stick to the sandwich line — it never disappoints.

I ate the turkey rueben sandwich :) It was amazing!!! Especially the dressing !! It was really good! I absolutely need to come back again !!! Also, the people that work there were very kind. I think they’re a little shy, but I like their smiles! so cute :)

Never had a sandwich but their salads are GREAT! Fresh ingredients, friendly staff and a huge chunk of change out your pocket. You will not spend any less than 10.00 but let me say it is worth every penny — the salads are HUGE! I also like that the location is right near the Farragut West stop, a parking garage and not off the block where I work — for those cold winter days when I need to run out. If you are in the area and want a refreshing salad fast — this is the spot.

Glad I discovered this little sandwich shop since it’s very close to work for me. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the menu has a wide variety of sandwiches. I’ve tried a couple of them, and both were good– the crispy chicken sandwich on sourdough is delicious with a sun-dried tomato pesto. One complaint would be that I think for the quality, the sandwiches may be just a touch overpriced. They’re good, but again, fairly standard, and they are priced at $ 10+. Not way overpriced by any means, but they could be a better bargain. A second complaint would be that I ordered a Muenster Melt, and they didn’t warm the sandwich to make it a melt at all… doesn’t a melt automatically mean at least melted cheese? So that was a bit irritating. Overall, a quick, tasty lunch. Looking forward to trying the salads which seem to garner better reviews than the sandwiches here on Unilocal

I get a salad here once a week. It’s a huge, delicious salad. They don’t skimp on toppings, though they also don’t go overboard. It’s a Goldilocks situation. Wish it were cheaper. $ 10 for a salad weighs heavily on the wallet. The seating is fine, the service is fine. One day I’ll try a sandwich. I can’t stop ordering the Thai chicken salad, though – too good! And an update: I took a star off(and debated rating them a 1-star overall). Too many times now there’s been a problem with how my salad is priced. I order the same salad every single time I go in. It shouldn’t be $ 9 one week, $ 11 the next week, $ 10 the next week, $ 9 the next week, $ 11 the next week, etc. etc. I’ve been so frustrated by their inconsistent pricing that last time I went in I specifically asked them to go over how make-your-own salads are priced. I had their system down finally so I knew I was ordering the way they wanted me to and the way that didn’t overcharge me! So imagine my surprise when, today, I ordered the same exact salad I always order and it was priced differently! Their answer to why an extra dollar was tacked on: I got lettuce. In my salad.(!) When I started to question why I was being charged an extra dollar for the lettuce in my salad this week when that’s never happened before, I was met with some pretty strong resistance. But one of the guys working there handled it well and was reasonable, so I’ll go back. Otherwise this would have been it for me, however much I love the salads.

I’ve never actually had a sandwich here, so this review is actually about their salads. TbSP has awesome salads and they are huge! I don’t know what they make their croutons out of but they are absolutely delicious. Their salads are absolutely better than the sweetgreen down the street or any other to-go salad in Georgetown. I will say they are a bit on the expensive side. Don’t expect to walk out spending less than $ 10. I wish they offered a smaller version of their salad because I never finish and end up wasting the other half. Maybe one day I’ll actually try a sandwich.

The 3 star is for the quantity. For someone with a healthy appetite, the sandwich is really tiny! I mentally calculated and the calorie count was not even close to 500 which is too less for an entire meal. But the sandwich tasted really good. I would have to eat two. S, I would giver this place a double $.

Review in a nut shell: Most disappointing and mediocre $ 10.44 sandwich ever. The Best Sandwich Company, more like Mediocrely Average at Best Sandwich Company. After two times here I’ve decided I WILL never journey back to this establishment and I will take my business elsewhere. My order always winds up wrong and they put on «extras» and they add things on that I specifically state I do not want, ie mayo, pickles etc. For the quality and service I am getting at this establishment, I feel that I can get better from a chain restaurant. Nice knowing you TbSP The«Best» Sandwich Place

I’ve heard people badmouth this place(maybe it’s the presumptuous name) but I really like it. Their sandwiches are very good, especially the ones that feature fresh sliced roasted turkey. There’s a whole bird sitting right there on the sandwich prep counter! They slice it to order! A lot of people like the turkey Reuben. It’s good, but my favorite by far is the Muenster Club. Fresh-sliced roasted turkey, Muenster cheese, pesto mayo and bacon. It’s to die for. The enormous salads are also quite good. Those large plastic takeaway containers have become iconic around the Georgetown waterfront.
