Great spot to bring the kids for a casual burger and beer. Mac and cheese is outstanding, as are the fries. I don’t understand some of the poor reviews on here, I’ve had nothing but delicious food and found the place very clean. The lack of table service is a little annoying but the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating.

Ordered the Jefferson burger and the Moroccan BBQ wings. Very good! There wasn’t anyone in the restaurant as the lunch crowd was gone. Nice ambiance. I did carry out. Food made to order. I will be back to enjoy more items on the menu

I would have discovered this place earlier for weekday lunches had it been in a better location, but I enjoyed the food and can’t wait to go back. It’s kind of between neighborhoods(NoMa and H Street) so you likely wouldn’t notice it unless you were looking for it. The burgers and fries are reasonably priced, and the space inside is pretty big and even has a bar in the back. I got the ahi tuna burger and it was cooked perfectly rare. The sweet potato fries were also delicious, and $ 3 for an order is not bad at all. The only minor snafu was an order mix-up — you order at the counter, get a number, and sit and wait for the food to be brought to you, but we had a large group all under one number and were missing several items. It took a few tries for staff to bring out all of the correct orders.

Lived across the street this past summer and loved popping in after work. TD Burger occupies a large space in a neighborhood on the upswing. The food is pretty good – certainly for the HO prices – and the place has a nice vibe to it. It has a bar with TV’s and a large open patio. Timothy Dean, the chef and owner, works really hard for this place, and seems to be pretty good at burgers and Barbecue. I particualrly recommend the BBQ Chicken Pizza. This restaurant was a good neighbor and a great place to kick back. It’s not a super-trendy or energetic, but it was a nice place to have on the corner.

This place was horrible. For being a Food Network Top Chef former contestant, Timothy Dean makes pretty horrible burgers. I expected much better. I walked in at dinner time and the whole place was empty. The bartender was really friendly, and the burgers and beer was cheap, but honestly I would have rather had a chain burger like Five Guys or Shake Shack. Nothing special about it and very sub-par. There were dead gnats and flies in the vinegar bottles on the table and the table condiments were covered in dust — they hadn’t wiped down anything in so long. The beer was cheap, but they give you deceivingly tiny glasses that don’t feel like a full pint. The markup on the fries was horrendous — $ 3 for a la carte fries, you’d expect some delicious hand cut well-seasoned fries. No, we got frozen Costco fries. I’ve had better french fries in school cafeterias. TL;DR — don’t waste your time, go to Indigo across the street for authentic Indian food and a WAY better outdoor seating vibe.

Absolutely disgusting. I had, a turkey burger. I dunno what piece of cardboard he killed or what type of dirt they used to make, that, burger, but it, was the, worst, God awful thing i, ever had. It was so bad, it does not, deserve any, stars.

Visiting DC for business from Cali. This place should have way more stars … So I had to write a review. It’s pretty simple great menu, great food, good service and nice little bar with some good local options. I got to try Jack’s Hard cider a local out of PA, great choice not too sweet. I didn’t read too many other reviews but from an outsiders perspective this place is a must try! I had a burger forgot the name now … sorry, but I’ll post a pic.

I don’t know why this place isn’t better! A sports bar when DC is dying for sports bars, and a place that sells reasonably priced beer near a university. And yet. And yet… the food isn’t that good and the atmosphere isn’t that inviting. Start with the poster/advertisement of the«celebrity» chef and the«prestigious» awards he has won. It would be one thing if people raved about the place and it were always bustling. But a gloating sign outside an empty restaurant at dinnertime just makes things more sad. But, like I mentioned — they do have reasonably priced beers! And the jury is still out on whether they have the extended football networks. If they do, then this place will be a hidden gem to watch the Falcons games(burgers aren’t wonderful, but the food is way better than Buffalo Billiards). I had the Sonia from the Bronx burger, with avocado, cheddar cheese, thyme roasted mushrooms, and grilled romaine. Sounds awesome, but as soon as I finished I couldn’t even remember anything about it besides that it was messy. Only two other people were in the restaurant, and the staff only spoke when spoken to. Overall, I wouldn’t go back unless I needed to watch a football game that isn’t on elsewhere.

First thing I noticed was that all the TVs had the closed captions on. I love this… nothing irks me more than watching TVs in bars with no sound and no captions. :) Only giving 4 stars because the happy hour prices are great and the lady bartender we had was super friendly and helpful. Now that macaroni and cheese… stay away from that! Sonia from the Bronx is delicious and the sweet potato fries are great!

I am a fan of this place! I love their fried wings, pizza and the Loree Burger! I have no complaints about the food. It was fresh, full of flavor and I can’t wait until I’m done dieting so I can pig out here once more. Hoorah for great food! Now, once my tummy is full, I like to get my drink on. The bartenders couldn’t keep up and ran out of whiskey! My feeling were so hurt. Too bad I couldn’t drink more whiskey to feel better! Twas bad enough I had to wait too far in between for my next drink. At least the karaōke was on point. Great laughs and entertainment for sure! :) I enjoyed my time spent there! I recommend this place if you want good food and nice spot to hang out with friends. They could use more seating but the layout is sort of weird. When I return, I hope there have been some bartending improvements! :)

Best BBQ chicken I’ve had in years. Smoked outside by Timothy Dean. Onion rings were great. Staff was very friendly. A neighborhood jewel.

I was very disappointed in this TD Burger as I have been to the one in Largo several times and had a better experience. This one on K near New York Ave metro is bigger with a bar and I like that. But the food was not up to par. I ordered one of the specialty burgers(I forget the name — maybe Bronx) and the lettuce was not only wilted, it was brown and didn’t even resemble lettuce. See pics. I sincerely want TD to improve and hope they work on quality. I have never had an issue with the Largo location. I love the heart of palm salad there, the pizza and the cupcakes. I will go back to this location another day and see if I have a better experience. To be paying these prices for burgers with no sides — they should at least be good.

The rating is solely based on negative experience on my visit to this establishment. I would give them another try. Negatives: No ranch in the entire store for my wings. My coworker asked for a Well-Done burger, and it was still moo-ing when she got to her desk. The person taking orders or the cook(whoever messed up) needs to pay better attention. Ranch isnt a super huge issue BUT bleu cheese will never be a substitute for a ranch lover. I’ll call ahead next time. Positives:Sweet Chili wings were full of flavor, big and juicy and nice and crispy. Def worth the 10 bucks. I didnt taste it, but my coworker said the burger, bread and toppings were tasty.(she just prefers cooked meat). The burgers look pretty big and the bread looked better than the prev pics posted. We’ll be over for happy hour soon for another try. Theyre too expensive for me to try a third time, so we’ll see.

TD Burger is a solid lunch option. The layout inside is strange(it’s L-shaped and a bit awkward), but the food is usually pretty good and the prices are very reasonable. I usually get the veggie burger and they allow you to do any of their burger options with the veggie burger. Today I ordered the Obama, but meant to order the Sonia, and they were super nice and brought me some mushrooms and avocado on the side for no extra charge. The veggie burger is about a 3.5÷5 as far as veggie burgers go. The real highlight at TD Burger is the pizza(although I usually don’t order it because it gives me a food coma). They are just HUGE and delicious — especially the white pizza. Two people can share them and there is usually still some leftover. Other highlights I have tried are the mac n’ cheese side and the sweet potato fries.

TD Burger is an interesting little spot near NOMA. The burgers are great– try the Sonia w/roasted mushrooms, grilled romaine, and avocado. The happy hour offers cheap beers for this part of town($ 3.50 for HB and an IPA) and an early-start karaōke bar(like.6:00). While the place is fun and offers a lot, their service leaves a bit to be desired. The bartenders are often in their own world and require a lot of coaxing to keep up with the demand at happy hour, even when the bar is far from full. Once I came here around 3:00 for an early happy hour and the bartender had«stepped out» for close to 30 minutes! To make it worse, no one else in the restaurant could get us a beer while he was out. Once TD Burger has a handle on the operations side of the business, I think it will be a really great spot that I will frequent for happy hour often. Until then, I’ll pay a little more for the excellent service at other local bars.

Just went here on a quiet Sunday night – it was quiet even for a Sunday, even though the place has a lot of TVs in the bar area and was a great place to watch the end of the football game. I had the Loree Blue burger, named for a local neighborhood activist. It was good, but bacon-and-bleu is my favorite kind of burger and I was hoping for a stronger bleu cheese flavor from this one. I would definitely come back and try some of the others, though. The onion rings were even better than the burger. Just the right amounts of crispness and grease, and a pretty good portion size for the money. While I was there, I saw some of their happy hour specials listed. It looks like they’ve got some really good deals($ 6 pizzas during January ’15!), plus a nice assortment of brews on tap and in bottles. If I’m ever around the area on a weekday afternoon it’d be one of the first places I’d stop.

Outstanding happy hour 4 – 7 weekdays at TD Burger: $ 3.50 IPAs and $ 5 burgers, you can’t beat that with a hot crisp French fry, especially not for just $ 3 more! And in Jan 2015 pizzas are half off 4 – 6 pm. The bottom line is, come early and you’ll drink & eat dirt cheap lol. No table service here, order when you walk in or at the bar, and they’ll run the food out to you. Yeah you Unilocalers who called it a five guys crossed with a bar, you’re right on the money. Friendly people behind the bar, let me try most of the beers, thanks ladies! At least 5 TVs so you can watch some serious game here. What are you drinking? How about these six craft taps: Hofbrau Muenchener Hefeweizen, Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald porter, Delirium Tremens, Port City Downright Pilsner, Champion Missile IPA and Bell’s Golden Rye ale. A supremely respectable list of fine brews. My $ 5 margarita was perfectly drinkable, not short on the tequila. That pizza? Just $ 12 for basically a large pie, it’s standard brick-oven pizza with a very nice char on the bottom, pretty boring sauce and lots of cheese. Just fine, not memorable, a huge amount of food. The burger? Just $ 7.50 for a very tall burger that must sell for $ 15 everywhere else, my dining companion was very very happy. Not overwhelming like the pizza, generously topped too, a proper bun(not squishy), solid. The fries? Great! $ 3 for a basket of sweet potato fries that had been made properly crispy and salty, very much recommend. Vegetarian rating: uh, well, 2.5 stars. Salads, French fries and onion rings, a veggie burger with cucumber and slaw, and several pizzas. You’ll be ok. Our bill for 2 with alcohol and tip was all of $ 50, so bring your cheap date here and you’ll both be happy!

After a few months of not having TD, I decided to go back with a coworker because it is one of the few places with a bar nearby. I ordered a Sonia from the Bronx Burger which was ok. Cooked well but really greasy. By the time I got my burger the bottom bun was soaked. Fries tasted good but the quantity is always less than I would like. My bigger issue was with the drinks we had. We each ordered a margarita. It was not good, sour mix to tequila ratio was totally off and it was $ 19 total. FORTWO! It seems a little ridiculous that it would be so expensive for a place that had no direct competition and isn’t in a crazy trendy neighborhood that would allow for such high prices. Unfortunately I didn’t know how much they cost when I ordered the second round(since my co-worker paid for the first round). The margaritas were a completely different color and had some kind of fruit juice… maybe pineapple… which we didn’t ask for. 4 margaritas for over $ 40… It’s just sad because I really want to like TD but every experience is lackluster at best. Maybe I’ll try it again in a few months when I forget how bad the experience is.

This review is closer to 3.5 stars but I’m going to average up since I think some people might be a little harsh on this place. I went here during the week for lunch and it was pretty quiet, which was actually nice. The service to me was very good and friendly. This might be due to there not being a lot of customers around. Also, they have a lot of seating both inside and outside. However, there’s more seating outside which is ok when the weather is nice but not so good when it’s cold or too hot. Anyway, I had the Sonia from the Bronx Burger and sweet potato fries. The fries were really good but a little over priced at $ 3 for the amount you get. The burger was average. I had medium and it was definitely over cooked. Also, the toppings didn’t seem very fresh but it wasn’t bad overall. I would say the burger and fries are a solid 3 stars and I’m bumping it up half a star for good service.

I had a very excellent burger here recently! I’d go so far as to say that it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had in DC. And I’ve been to a good number of burger places in DC so that is saying a lot. I ordered the Abe Lincoln burger, which came with the rub, coleslaw, smoked gouda, asian bbq sauce, and kosher pickle. It was a very unique and tasty combination. It was also quite filling. I was very happy with my portion. They have a number of burgers with interesting/historical names, such as the«Thomas Jefferson Burger,» the«Obama Burger,» the«Sonia from the Bronx Burger,» and the«George Washington Classic Burger.» The onion rings and sweet potato fries served as great sides. It wasn’t packed on a weekday at lunch, but it could have been emptier than usual because of the rainy weather when we visited. They seem to have a great happy hour — just $ 5 for burgers and $ 3 /$ 3.50 for beer and rail drinks. For an all-around great burger restaurant with great service and tasty food, definitely check out TD Burger. Oh, and some fun trivia — the main chef of this restaurant, Timothy Dean, was a contestant on Top Chef.
