After spending 2 hours in the office getting measured for shirts and picking out all the options, I paid almost $ 300 for 4 shirts. I waited two months and never recieved the shirts, at which point I contacted the merchants to tell them I had not recieved what I paid for. After some struggle, we realized that they had shipped them to my billing address and not my shipping address. Finally, after much hassle, I recieved what I ordered, only to find that the shirts were completely generic in size and did not fit my body at all. While the options were nice, such as the collar, sleeves, and monograms, the fit was terrible. Merchant still has not remedied the problem, so I am filing a claim with my credit card to dispute the charge.

Not impressed with the customer support. I went to pick up my suit and the employee was a no show. I didn’t get a call or notification. Check my emails and we were set for the day and time. Still haven’t received my suit its been since June 2013, when I was measured. I had to call to inquire when the suit was ready. Then when I went to pick it up, and was left standing outside. I will update if I ever get my suit and if my time is compensated.

The rating is actually 4.5 stars. I saw VM Clothiers on a special from Gilt. The special was something like 1 suit, 2 shirts, and 2 ties $ 480. I’ve never had a suit or shirts custom made and the price for custom made stuff was *very* reasonable so I decided to give it a try. The experience: I called Vishal Mirpuri and set up an appointment. His office is in DC, across from the Hilton on 16th street. Parking is tough, and his office was a little hard to find. Not a big deal though. He took a lot of measurements and talked about fabric preferences, how I would wear the suit(4 season, just fall, etc.) and started making suggestions. We flipped through a few fabric styles together and decided on a pattern and color. Then we discussed things like lapel type, button type, sleeve finishing, back venting, lining, etc. We discussed every aspect of the suit. We then went on to the shirts, more of the same. The process did take some time, but I was convinced the end product would be worth it. It most certainly was. The end result: About 6 weeks later, I got my suit and shirts and tried everything on. The fit was as close to perfect as I could imagine. It was as if… the clothes were made specifically for me! Seriously, the shirts are versatile(1 barrel cuff, 1 french cuff, both with monograms) and the suit is fantastic. I just went in again yesterday and ordered 3 more shirts. The process was much faster this time because my measurements were in the system already. And the price for custom made shirts was LOWER than most of the off the rack stuff at department stores. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is that I am a instant gratification type of person, and waiting for 6 weeks is tough for me. Try VM Clothiers out, you won’t be sorry

I’m fairly new to made to measure clothing; VM is the third place that I’ve tried so far. of the 3, VM’s shirts are very good quality and by far the best value. his shirts are less expensive than off the rack shirts at places like Brooks Brothers. Vishal was very thorough and accurate in high measurements and took a good amount of time discussing how I wanted the shirts to fit. he has a wide selection of fabrics and styles. the shirts arrived on time and look and fit great. I’ll be going back for more shirts and at some point, I’ll try suits.

Bottom line: VM Clothiers makes very good suits and shirts at a very good price. Coming out of college, it can be hard to build a wardrobe that’s formal enough for the workplace, looks like something you’re proud to wear, costs reasonably enough that you don’t run out of clothes midweek. VM Clothiers rocks at that. Consulting with Vishal about ordering a new made-to-measure suit or shirt is an easy, quick, but thorough experience. I never feel like I’m being«sold» — it always feels like a conversation about how to create the new suits or shirts that build out your personal style or make you look cooler at work. So far, I’ve order four suits and four shirts from VM Clothiers. Vishal’s helped me to make each suit something special — whether by recommending a slightly different fabric than I first selected(so that it breathes better in DC’s climate), or tweaking the suit pattern to add vintage details(like ticket pockets or undarted coats), or finding just the right fabric to perfectly replace my favorite dying suit from college. The fit of the suits is also excellent; the closest I’ve ever come to an issue was when the button fell off my first suit’s trousers — an easy fix. The shirts are also fantastic — the only problem I ever have with them is that I wear them too much. The customer service is excellent, and VM Clothiers truly takes care of his customers. Their specials(such as discounts both for new customers, and those who recommend new customers to him), are stellar as well.
