Westmoreland Apts

I’ve lived here for the past 18 months and although the neighborhood is great, the neighbors (ahem) are not.
They treat this building like a geriatrics room and board with library voices to be observed at all times. The front desk staff (save about 2 who are always sweet/​helpful) is less than adequate (don’t get me started on the one who doesn’t know to dial 1 before calling out of area code and snoops through the mail), the co-​op board is a joke (made my roommate abandon his parking spot after a year of having it for no reason other than bullying), and I think the median age that lives there was around during the signing of the constitution (congrats?).
No one was ever welcoming or even cracked a smile. We had one neighbor that shrieked and yelled at vistors until they were chased out, and I’m pretty sure most of the apartments are now standing graves for those left.
I would not recommend this place to ANYONE under the age of 65. These people have nothing better to do but gossip about each other while peering out at the parking lot to see who is parked in their spot and at what times. (Why does that matter?)
Thin walls, voices that carry, but a beautiful roof deck that never gets used because no one that lives there truly appreciates the beauty that the District has to offer. Sad, but true.
