The delivery guy yelled at me and I do not appreciate that at all. And I was not offered a discount or anything for the poor service. So they WONT have my business anymore.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. Do not order from this restaurant unless you desire mediocre, bland food served with a side of rudeness, and hot, heaping unadulterated racism. I placed an order through GrubHub and the driver called me, muttering something unintelligible, which I assumed meant that he was outside. I went outside to my gate and saw the car in the middle of the street. I waited expectantly for him to get out of the car and hand me my food. I wasn’t expecting him to make the trip to the door, but he could have at least done the courtesy of bringing it to the gate. Eventually, I realized that he was not going to get out of his vehicle and I went down and took the food. He never thanked me neither did he explain what he was doing. I called the restaurant to complain, was subsequently put through to the manager who just asked where I lived and explained that the drivers do not get out in certain neighborhoods. My neighborhood is not especially dangerous, not to mention the fact that it was still daylight with tons of passersby around and that police officers patrol the area regularly. It seems that this restaurant just doesn’t like areas where large amounts of brown people reside, and considering that fact that they are based in D.C., means they made a poor choice when they choose to locate themselves here. If the neighborhood was so incredible unsafe, they should not deliver here at all, but they are greedy and still want to make money without any regard for customers. I wish that I had not tipped online and I will never order from this place again because they do not deserve any money. Do not frequent this establishment and let’s hope that their discriminatory practices put them out of business.

Ordered dinner tonight through GrubHub and it was pretty bad. –It took over an hour to get our meals –Food arrived soggy and nearly cold –the«chicken» was grey and tough, sauce was pretty runny(I ordered the Sesame Chicken). See photo. –Crab Rangoons had very little stuffing to them –Fried wontons were chewy Would not order from here again. At least we were able to use a coupon for two free sodas, and the fortune cookies were good. No leftovers for us, everything went straight into the garbage along with our $ 40.

Knowing that places sometimes have off nights, we tried them again even though the first time we ordered delivery it took an hour. We were rewarded with an hour and 45 minute wait and a driver who attempted to deliver our stone cold food to our neighbor. Never again.

I haven’t found many Chinese places in the DC area that are amazing, but this place is definitely one of my favorites. We ordered delivery from here at work once & I was so impressed with the quality of food, that it’s become my main Chinese place for lunch. My most recent trip here, I ordered pork lo mein and a steak & cheese egg roll. I’ve never seen steak and cheese egg rolls outside of the DMV, and this place nailed them more so than other places I’ve tried. Their pork lo mein was also delicious. Very flavorful and a perfect portion for a small order. I will say that you should be careful about ordering delivery during the winter. I ordered it for lunch at work last week and we ended up going to pick it up because they weren’t going to be able to deliver until an hour after the time I requested when I ordered on Eat24. When we got to the place they were so busy trying to get delivery orders out, that they had a a few people in line waiting to order carryout inside. As frustrating as that generally would be for anyone, especially when you only have but so long for a lunch break at work, I can’t say it stops me from giving them 4 stars. The food is delicious and it’s the only place I’ll order Chinese from when I’m at work. 3 of us ordered from there when this delivery issue took place, and none of us regretted our meal choice when we finally were able to pick it up.

I’m very picky with my American Chinese food and usually only go with regular now traditional Chinese places(Panda Gourmet on New York, for example). Basically I can count on feeling it go through my system for the next 24 hours. But I haven’t had a bad dish from here yet. It’s all very fresh, plus very fast delivery. Once we ordered at 12:15am and the food got here by 12:30, no joke, but the rest have taken longer.

Well, their chicken rice soup is no Progresso. It’s mostly rice with some chicken, broth and scallions. I ordered delivery because I am too sick to leave the house. When the driver got here, he called and did not leave his car, even after I opened the door and walked out onto my stoop. I had to call him back and tell him to come to the door. When I asked why he didn’t knock, he said nobody is going to knock in this neighborhood. I have ordered enough carry out to know, yes they do. Don’t insult my neighborhood then expect me to order from you again.

Totally workable Chinese delivery. Some of the reviews on here are really terrible, but the food’s not really that terrible. My order arrived about 20 minutes before Grubhub’s estimated delivery window(a definite plus on a late Sunday evening). The hot and sour soup was pretty good, with bits of pork and very fresh egg noodle chips. We ordered kung pao beef and got kung pao chicken(or kung pao mystery meat?) instead — that might bother some people but I can’t really fault Yeung Fong Carryout too much that kind of mix-up. Overall, the kung pao beef should have been spicer and some of the vegetables seemed slightly overcooked — there should have been more crunch in the water chestnuts. The cold sesame noodles were just okay — not quite cold enough and not quite enough kick in the peanut sauce, which wasn’t quite thick enough to adhere to the noodles and really coat them. Dinner for 2 with lots of leftovers was $ 26 including delivery and tip. We got two free egg rolls included(I think you get one free with a $!5 order)

I felt compelled to write a review for this place due to all the poor reviews listed. it almost swayed me from eating here. We ordered off grubhub and got $ 5.00 off using the mobile app. Hardy portions. the wonton/egg drop soup was amazing(big wontons), the steamed dumplings were actually steaming upon delivery! The egg rolls were cooked to perfection(and free with a coupon). the beef lo mein and sesame chicken was on point. Delivery took a little long. over an hour. and I have to wonder how busy they really are on Easter Sunday at 9pm… To anyone who ordered American food off the menu. what is wrong with you?. And to the reviewer who got diarrhea from the food… no diarrhea yet. so far so good. but if it comes I will be sure to update.

I have lived around the corner from this place for about 3.5 years and never went, so I decided to check it out on a snowday. what was good — the range of options and the portion size, especially for the price. what could be better — all of the chinese food(at least the 3 dishes we got) seems to come slathered in sauce. It’s way too saucy and not very good. I was disappointed by the spring rolls as well and wouldn’t order them again.

DONOT waste your time with Yeung Fong. Their customer service is laughable and completely aloof to resolving issues. Case study: Order placed at 9 p.m. Yeung Fong calls at 9:30 to say they need to reconfirm the order. Order reconfirmed and YF says they’ll finish and deliver the order soon. Call YF at 10pm to check on status. Apologies abound and they offer 50% off the meal. Will get the food over«very soon.» Call YF at 10:25 pm: «Order is with driver» Call YF at 10:45 pm: «Oh, sorry! Give us another 20 minutes and we will get it over right away.»

Bland, average chinese take-out. Merits 3 stars for food – I’m being generous because I’m only comparing this place to other chinese take-out places. But it gets reduced a star for delivery service. They screwed up my order in a fairly benign way – substituting one item for another that they didn’t have. But then they lied about having tried to reach me first. Management was busted by its own driver. Shame on you people.

They were 30 minutes late and there was hair in my food order. Not just on top of the food, nope — cooked into the General Tso Chicken. I will never order there again. Wish I had the option to give ZERO stars.

Good carry out/delivery Chinese Food must admit Americanized Chinese but still tasty! Delivered fast and hot with all the side items Utensils, condiments, napkins and well packed for delivery. Not fancy but still taste good and hits the spot when you’re hungry and too tired to go out and search for a restaurant.

I have been here 5 times now and have never been disappointed. Sure by no means is it gourmet, but the portions are good, and the food has always been tasty. Don’t be put off by it’s appearance(bullet proof glass and all) and try it for take-away. One of the better low-key chinese places I have been to.

Not really feeling this place. Ordered 4 dishes for delivery. Sesame Chicken — batter was mushy, and the sauce too sweet. Triple Delight — average Shrimp with Broccoli — average, but got more oil than then the Gulf has crude… or shrimp for that matter. ;) Beef Mei Fun — we actually wanted Beef Chow Fun but this is all they had, and it did the job. This dish is as about as much«fun»(i.e.-exciting) as fried rice… so if you’re looking for something with a little more«wow» in it, then this dish probably won’t do it for you. Order came out close to $ 40 and they included 2 free sodas… and not your average soda choices, but the no-name-brand kind you find at the dollar store. Very much appreciated though. I actually liked the peach flavor soda.

My office has been ordering from Yeung Fong for over a year now. With over 50 employees on our floor we have probably had everything at least once! Their food is absolutely delicious and fresh. Personally I haven’t had anything I didn’t like. Arguably they have the best General Tso’s Chicken in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. Yeung Fong is also known for their delicious Mumble Sauce(Some spell it Mambo or Mumbo). It’s hard to find a carryout that excels in both American & Chinese food. Yeung Fong has achieved that! The prices are fair and they aren’t stingy with the portions. I strongly recommend this carryout.

Weird selection. Prices are never the same(and not the same on menu). Chicken fried rice(which is my litmus dish) was yellow rice with some chicken and frozen veggies thrown in. Go somewhere else!

*edit* I went back on 12÷19÷08 and got a pet dish of mine: Double-Cooked Pork. The portion was ENORMOUS — I still have a full meal’s worth after two days of eating it — and the food was very good. Good quality pork, lots of crisp cabbage, etc. I continue to recommend this as a quality Chinese carryout in an area underfunded in food options. This little chinese carryout isn’t exactly hidden — it’s right on the corner of North Capital, in between Florida and Rhode Island — and seems fairly well trafficked, but hasn’t been reviewed here yet. I’ve only eaten there once, but I found the food plentiful, pretty decently flavorful, and cheap. I ate the leftovers for almost a week. I would say it’s standard Chinese fare, along with the usual concessions to local taste — rib sandwiches, chicken wings, subs, etc. Nothing I ordered was spicy at all, but I didn’t ask for anything above and beyond what the menu stated either. I would say the food has been dumbed down a little bit due to the clientele, but there is always the possibility that they’d ramp it up if you asked. I’ll have to try it. The place seems clean and orderly, and the food is prepared at the average pace of a Chinese carryout. Although it has to compete with several other similar establishments, Yeung Fong seems to have quite a following, and has small crowds inside even on a week night. The North Capital area is notoriously sparse as far as dining options go, which might explain some of the popularity, but the food itself also keeps people coming back. I’ll be returning and ordering from them again. Worth a try if you’re in the neighborhood.
