My stay at Cornerstone Inn was magical. Christine had a warm, kind, generous energy, beginning when she returned my call to make arrangements until now – were friends in Facebook. :-) She gave me an interesting history of the beautifully restored 19th century bank building as she checked me in. I stayed in the room, called God’s World, which is thoughtfully decorated with cultural artifacts from the original owners’ travels around the world. Christine indulged my curiosity and showed me the rest of the rooms – they’re all very well done. Everything is meticulously clean. There’s a laundry room. There’s even a restaurant affiliated with the Cornerstone Inn, where Christine gave me $ 10 credit each day I stayed and that covered my meals, which were both very good. There’s a well-curated grocery nearby, too, called Lindy’s – it’s like a small, locally-owned Whole Foods Market. I got my dinners there and warmed things in the microwave back at the inn. I felt Christine’s care in everything about my stay. It was excellent.

Fantastic experience. Stayed for one night and everything was great. Quiet and more private feeling than some B&B’s. The innkeeper was wonderful and accommodating. She left us a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room since it was our anniversary! Breakfast was delicious and it was clear that time and thought had been spent in planning and preparation. Definitely recommend if you need a place to stay in central IL and you are tired of hotels.
