Wonderful Place, top of line in food standards, owners are very friendly and helpful, it’s nice to see places like this expand outside of the city to influence people’s eating habits in a positive light. I a 100% Fan!

This place is amazing. Food is delicious, servers are happy, restaurant is clean. Try the baclava for desert; perhaps the best I’ve ever had.

The food was delicious. Had the chicken platter and a bowl of lentil soup bit was wonderful. The pita bread was perfect. The owners were very attentive and took great pride in assuring you had everything you need. I am visiting from out of town on business and I will make at least 2 more visits here before I leave on Friday. Yummy!!!

Very, Very Fresh food. The flavors were A-Mazing! I highly recommend this place. Friendly staff and courteous. Hommous was out of this world and the fresh pita was a nice touch.

Well done middle eastern food. Staff was great and friendly. A little expensive for the portion size, but I’ll blame that on its close proximity to the casino.

We went here today for lunch with my sister, her young children, and my mother. Excellent food and even better service. The owner was extremely attentive, stopping by the table to ensure that we were satisfied with our meals. The hummus appetizer was fantastic, as was the shawarma. I’m looking forward to going back!

The family and I took our first trip here tonight and what a great experience. First I’m the only one in my family that is even remotely familiar with Mediterranean cuisine. So it was really great that they took the time to walk my wife and 2 kids through the whole menu and let them sample a few thing to see if it was to their liking. Everything was great. And they allowed me to leave my ticket open if we wanted to add a few things on we could like oh some more Hummus with piping hot fresh out of the oven pita bread and at the end the baklava was amazing. So go already will not disappoint.

What a great surprise. While making a(rare) trip down to the outlets, we can upon this gem of a restaurant just down the street. I had a falafel wrap and tabbouleh, my wife had chicken schwarma salad, and my kids had a chicken kebob and vegetable soup. All amazing and highly recommended. Incredibly fresh ingredients, authentic tabbouleh, fresh warm pita baked right in front of you. You order up at the front and they guide you through the options then bring the food to your table. It feels entirely authentic/handmade food but also feels like it could be a higher-end chain(in all the best of ways) because things are done so professionally and quickly.

My husband and I were at Tanger Outlets and were looking to grab a bite nearby so we searched on Unilocal.Lo and behold, Markook came up and it was perfect because I was in the mood for something fresh. Walking in here, it reminded me of a Chipotle of Mediterranean food. The place was very clean and inviting. It’s a very casual, order at the counter type place. You order on the right and the menu also reads from right to left. Your choice of wraps, salads or platters. Wraps are made with Markook bread and platters come with two items from their«starter» menu and fresh homemade pita bread(which you get 4)! My husband ordered the chicken kebab wrap and I ordered the vegetarian ghallaba with hummus and tabulee. We also got baklava for dessert, which we ordered both the triangle and rolled versions. I must say the owners are soooooooooooo friendly and inviting! They were incredibly helpful with our questions of the menu. The owners were just the best, truly. All business owners should model after this family and their extraordinary customer service. The food was very fresh and delicious, all seasoned to perfection. A thing to note, all their grill items are made to order so you might have a bit of a wait but it’s so worth it! This will continually be our food stop when we are at the outlets!

Enjoyed lunch yesterday, 1÷5÷16 at Markook. I had the steak schwarma, tabouli and of course the fresh baked bread. Accompaniment’s included a lemon, tahini(delicious), dressed tomato and sweet onion and a pickle. Lets start with… the pickle. I don’t eat pickles. I will eat other pickled products, peppers, etc. However, this thing was delicious. Lets talk about the steak schwarma. It was a bit on the dry side for my liking, however, the portion was of a nice size and the seasoning was great. Looking forward to trying their chicken kebab and the chicken schwarma. Their tabouli is good as well and I consider myself quite a connoisseur of tabouli. The first time I had sampled it at Markook, it was flat. Little to no lemon. I waited about a month between trips, this time, greatly improved. However, I like my tabouli wet. Markook’s is a bit on the dry side. However, a very good tabouli. The breads. Lets just say, if they only offered bread for sale, they would be an incredible success. The environment is awesome. Dig the brick oven they have. Everything is exceptionally clean. I work two minutes away over the hill from them so I fully expect it to be a regular stop for lunch.

We stopped here as a midpoint on our trip home. This place is awesome! We didn’t want to eat anything too heavy and opted for Mediterranean. Seems to be fairly new and tucked in a small condo/commercial complex. The service is great. The chicken and steak shawarmas were generously seasoned. Pitas are hot and fresh. The crushed lentil soup was phenomenal. Hot and comforting. The chicken vegetable soup was also very good. If I ever pass by this town again, I’ll be sure to visit Markook again!

A friend and I we planning a trip to the Tanger Outlets today, but weren’t sure what our lunch options would be – generally, pickings have been mighty slim in this area. I found the Unilocal reviews of Markook, and we decided to give it a try. She’s from Detroit, and my sister and I regularly eat at the Tiger Bakery in Toledo when I’m visiting her(or travel up to Dearborn to the Cedarlands, if we have time). So, the bar was set pretty high. Markook is WONDERFUL. Delicious, fresh, food – the chicken kabobs I had were beautifully seasoned, and served with carrots and peppers grilled in the same spice mixture. We both had the platter, which lets you choose two sides, so we sampled the hummus, baba ganoujh, fattoush, and rice pilaf – all a amazing. We also got a side of falafel, which were made fresh. The owners are delightful – friendly and helpful, happy to help people who are new to this cuisine navigate the menu. My only complaint is that it isn’t in Morgantown, where I live – but it will definitely be a destination restaurant for me. Well worth the drive!

My family and I decided to try something new on New Years Eve. I am so glad we decided to go to Markook. The food was very good and very fresh. Even my son who usually refuses to try anything other than a burger enjoyed his food. The owner was very helpful in helping us to decide which meals to eat. Very good all around. We will most definitely return.

This place is awesome! So glad that there is now a solid Mediterranean option in the Canonsburg/Washington area. My only complaint(I’ll get it out of the way early) is that they have Pepsi and not Coke products. Minor thing, but some people — like me! — have issues with this :) Otherwise, this place is so good that I may go back on a weekly basis. The chef/owner(?) asked if I had been there before, and when I said No, he told me I would be back. He’s right! It was clean, the staff was friendly, and the menu was super easy to understand. Pick if you want a salad, wrap, or platter. Then pick your meat/protein, and your sides. Great, simple food. I had the salmon platter with hummus and a side salad. The salmon was not overcooked and perfectly seasoned. The hummus was phenomenal, and the side salad was a great compliment to the meal. The meal came with 2 freshly baked pitas that were OUTSTANDING. At the end of lunch, I literally scraped the plate with my fork to get every last bit. For $ 13, this was a great value for lunch — and I didn’t even feel guilty about the delicious food that I was eating. The staff came to check on us a few times to make sure everything was great(it was!). It’s obvious that they care about their customers and the quality of the food they are serving. I cannot wait to go back!

I reserve my 5-star reviews and don’t just hand them out willy-nilly. However, Markook is worthy of each star! The restaurant is a walk-up and order style atmosphere. The full menu is displayed and most of the items have a description shown. The staff was incredibly friendly as soon as we walked in the door. They asked if we had any questions about the menu and were patient while we decided what to order. Our food was brought to our table accompanied by piping hot, fresh pita bread. I had the falafel platter which included four falafel patties, homemade hummus, fresh tabbouleh, and a side of tahini. The falafel were crisp on the outside but tender and moist on the inside. The hummus and tabbouleh were probably some of the best I’ve had. Both were fresh and full of flavor. The hummus was silky smooth. After assembling a couple of pita with the falafel, hummus, and tabbouleh, I scooped up the remaining hummus with my fork! I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other items on the menu. This will definitely be a regular lunchtime spot!

Fresh food, wonderfully nice employees… it’s a fantastic place. The chicken shawarma is incredible, but you really can’t go wrong with anything else you’d pick from the menu. Fun to watch the bread rise too! I’m so happy there’s a new and different restaurant in the Washington area.

If you are looking for fresh and original food, Markook will fill your craving. «Life is too short for ordinary food!» is on the sign at Markook. Couldn’t agree more.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. Was only looking for a simple quick lunch and received it in a tasty Chicken Shawarma. If you are in the mood for some good food and friendly service and authentic Mediterranean food, this is the place.

Finally there is some culture in the somewhat bland Washington food scene! I tried this place for dinner and was very impressed. It looks a bit like a typical chain restaurant, but is actually family owned and very well maintained. The couple who owns it was a pleasure to talk to. The food is very fresh, light, and well prepared. We had the salmon platter and chicken kabob platter. The salmon was delicious, as were the tabouleh and hummus. The chicken was good and well flavored, although a little overcooked. The warm oven-baked pita was a great idea and definitely made the meal better. Great restaurant and I look forward being back and to trying other dishes soon!
