Order was quick but it wasn’t exactly what we ordered and wasn’t hot. Everything is ala carte The chips and salsa was good

Update: Just received a charming message from someone with one review… 5 stars for this place! Gee… I wonder if its someone associated with this place? Thanks for the harassment Wasilla! I’ll make sure we avoid this establishment next time we’re up!

Good food, a little pricey. The only downside is the atmosphere. It’s a little dirty and the heat never works so it’s very cold inside(they do have space heaters, but it’s still unpleasantly chilly inside).

As a restaurant owner I am inclined to be more forgiving in my reviewing of restaurants. Here is my honest critique. 1.) do not expect fine dining from a hole in the wall establishment. The service isn’t going to be fantastic. For goodness sake it’s counter service. Those reviews expecting to be waited on hand an foot really don’t get it. Even that said, I’ve never had bad service here. 2.) while this place is a hole in the wall, all you have to do is look to see the level of excellence they operate at. The place is never dirty. The kitchen, dining room and floors are always clean. 3.) this is by far the best Mexican food in the Valley. Authentic and tons of free condiments including fresh limes, pico, salsa etc. Had a previous reviewer turned around she would have seen the condiment bar and perhaps would have appreciated not only the amount of food but also free stuff for her $ 11. 4.) I have never left this place feeling hungry. The amount of food for the price is the best value of all! All the naysayers, haters and self absorbed snobs need to realize that no one is as perfect as they are. Miserable people will always live miserable lives. Señor Taco, you keep doing what you do. We appreciate it.

The best Mexican in the valley for sure maybe even Alaska. Couldn’t believe all the bad reviews when I looked. This place is my go to anytime I’m hungry and in Wasilla. Get the chicken chipotle burrow you won’t be disappointed :)))))

The best Mexican food in the valley. Love the tortas. I have eaten here dozens of times over the years. Yes, some visits are better than others but, overall great food.

The food is hit or miss. There are some unique items you won’t find other places(e.g. chicharrone tacos, menudo). The adobada tacos and the pozole are worth a try for sure. But none of the other tacos I’ve tried here are that great. The nachos were just chips with WAY too much cheddar cheese … That said I haven’t found adobadas or pozole anywhere else in the valley, and those are pretty good.

I would normally give this place a good review but after the service we received today and the lack of customer service I need to edit my first review. We arrive here at 11:20 am, no one else here and placed our order –2 burritos and 1 taco. Now it’s 24 minutes later and 5 customers later we have still not received our food and everyone else has. I had given them 4 stars, then decided 3 but another customer that just ordered received his food and we are pretty sure that they have forgotten to make our order. No apology only excuses and an attitude that said deal with it. Now we’re down to 2 stars and I would take back the tip I had left if I could. Finally our food is done. We go get it from the counter and the cashier brings us a $ 2 off coupon that was torn out of a magazine or off the back of a receipt and gave it to us for our next visit. Talk about going out of the way for the customer. :(

Very good food. Always consistent. Great flavors. Maybe you’ve had better, but if you compare this to other Mexican restaurants in town, I’d say it’s the best! I’ve had«street tacos» from taco trucks in the lower 48 and this is the only place I’ve found as good of tacos. Only downside is its not like a sit down restaurant where you get served and get free chips and salsa. But the food is worth it! ;) you get a large portion and the prices are not outrageous!

First time here, used the northern light coupon book. Pretty much the best Mexican food I had in Alaska… I’m going to steal the hot verde sauce next time… Feeling — satisfied

Oh em gee! This is our favorite Mexican place to eat. It’s the closest to authentic we have had. I always get the chipotle chicken. I’m giving 4 stars because you don’t want to go when they are close to closing. I did get dried carnitas but if you go for lunch or early dinner, it’s amazing. Even their«plate fillers» of rice and beans are yummy. Try the menudo soup too. The dining area stinks though, so we always order take out. Great salsa bar too.

Good food, inexpensive, and fast service. They have no table service. It is the same recipes and mostly the same food as Chepo’s, only with a fast food approach. For about the cost of a Big Mac meal from McDonalds, you get a whole lot of delicious food. The salsa bar is good. I’ve been there many times and it never disappoints.

Got the courage to try this place — I like Chepo’s which is owned by the same people. I went at lunch and saw the place filled with Mexican construction workers and two old white women LOL! Figured it had to be good. The menu is on the wall but there is a menu at the counter that explains everything. I had the pork verde burro and it was filled with a dark, rich green sauce and thick, tender chunks of pork. I was blown away. It tasted really good and what I would think was authentic. There was also a salsa bar that looked fresh to me — I got the sour cream. I waited maybe 10 mins for my meal to be called out but it was noon and busy on a Friday(payday). The place quickly filled with construction workers of all race and I realized I was the lone woman amongst about 22 men. It was like a Mexican version of a truck stop but in a good way. I have to say within 24 hours I realized the pork verde burro might have been a little«too authentic» if you get my drift… I don’t think there was anything wrong with the food or that it was tainted, just a little strong for a wussie stomacho like mine! The food was delicious.

Similiar to the majority of my «foodie» experiences… quite mediocre. Ordered the carne asada plate, uhh… was«marinade» not included in the recipe? BLAND as can be. However, the rice & beans were tastey. Salsa bar looked slightly suspicious.(Hmmm… I wonder how fresh this is.?). Despite my skeptism, I tried both hot salsas & the onion/tomato/cilantro mix. Both salsas were ok. Unfortuately, the onion/tomato/cilantro mix was NOTOK. The taste was awkward; as if it festered into«something» sitting in that bucket for weeks.(Always trust your intuitions!) Last rant… the Horchata. Good flavor, but I noticed after a few sips it left a strange after taste. Still fathoms me… On a lighter side; the cashier was friendly & the cook prepared the meal quick.

Ever been to a Taco cart in Los Angels? That’s what this place is like, only not as yummy. If I were you, I’d go ahead and splurge on Jalapenos down the highway a bit. The staff was friendly and the food came quick, that’s why they are getting 3 stars instead of 1 or 2.

Skip the overpriced and mediocre«cantina» fair most of Alaska’s Mexican restaurants offer. Instead, head to Señor Taco in Wasilla. Yeah, it’s in a shopping center, but don’t let that fool you. This West-coast style Taqueria offers an OUTSTANDING salsa bar, and is the only place in Alaska i’ve ever found a Torta. Just about everything on the menu that i’ve tried is OUTSTANDING, and if you’re feeling adventurous, Try the TONGUE!
