It’s been years since I’ve eaten at Big Franks, we were in the area and hungry for lunch, so we stopped in. I ordered the BBQ Beef Brisket sandwich, my wife went with a cheeseburger. We shared a nacho chili fries. Everything was decent. I’ll admit I’ve had better beef brisket, but I’ve also had worse too. There was a good amount of sauce on the meat, it did mask the taste a bit. After living in the Deep South during 2014, I’m used to putting on the BBQ sauce myself, I would have preferred the opportunity to do that. Chili on fries had a bit of spice, but the amount of chili was sparse, I wish there was more. Overall though, we left satisfied, we would come back to Big Franks again in the future.

I love it here! The food is amazing. Their pastrami ruben is one of the best i’ve had. Also love their mac and cheese. Recently I came here with my son and realized they have kids meals for $ 4. It came with grilled cheese, fries, and a juice box. Service is quick and pretty friendly.

Impressive. The Décor and ambiance is that of a real bbq pit from when you pull into the parking lot. My first time here so I wanted to try the whole menu, obviously impossible. I figured on the basics; pulled pork sandwich combo. Turns out to be one of the best I’ve had in a while. A hardy portion of fries are tasty too. Coleslaw is right in the money. Side sauces are typical. Pickles might be hienz but also good. I will return and recommend!

I haven’t really had that many things from here, but the St. Louis ribs warrant the 5 stars on their own :)

DISGUSTING! I brought my children here last week expecting a decent meal… ughhh. The chicken strips had hard ring around them as if they’d been over fried. The pulled pork sandwich was disgusting. It was like a flat hockey puck that looked like a piece of dog poop! My poor daughter wouldn’t eat it! This place used to be good. But has gone down hill so bad!!! Would not recommend at all!!! The original Frankie’s is place to go. Very surprised at the quality of food at big franks!!!

Yum yummy food! They seem pretty organized here. Small menu but great food. A bit pricey but really well worth it. I have encountered a time or 2 that the food was served old and hard. But that was takeout so I didn’t come back to rectify that. When I have sat all the food seemed fresh. I have seen a few microwaves here. Makes you wonder??? But the cornbread is a tiny piece they give with the platter that I always like to order xtra for the family. The 6 rib ½ bird platter is enough to feed 3. They also serve soup burgers and hot dogs here! 4 stars minus one only bc it’s pricey.

Always get the St. Louis ribs here, with sweet potato fries and its NEVER disappoints! The mustards they have are really tasty. Enjoy some popcorn before your meal, and sit and relax til they call your number for your food. Only thing they should fix up is the ladies bathroom. The hand dryer needs updating, and maybe some nicer soap since the soap dispenser is off the wall and they have a Germ X container filled with I think soap??? Wasn’t sure… besides that… we’ll be there again!

NOT a BBQ place. Burgers and basics are ok, but if you consider just add BBQ sauce and it’s BBQ then you will like this place.

I ordered a beef brisket sandwich, onion rings and sweet potato fries. The brisket portion was skimpy, three slices, served in an over-toasted bun, the fries were soggy, and the onion rings were pre-made frozen crap. The beer selection was very limited. Pre-made onion rings? Jeez…

I had dinner at this establishment on 8÷19÷14. I ordered a brisket sandwich, cheese fries, and teriyaki wings. My fiancée ordered ribs and fried zucchini. Subsequently within the next 36 hours both of us came down with food poisoning. I emailed the establishment to inform them of this, and my message was completely disregarded. I will never set foot in there again. I also reported them to the board of health, who assigned the business to a friend of the owner, who subsequently performed no inspection and«took the owner at his word.»

I’ve been here a few times and been consistently happy. I’m not a stickler who says, «THISHASTOBELIKETEXASBBQBUTHEREINCTORTHISPLACEISNOTHINGTOME». If the food is good, then that’s the most important thing. The pulled pork and mac and cheese are tasty and filling. Would definitely come here again if I were in the area.

Decent, generic BBQ, for a region that doesn’t know what real BBQ tastes like. It’s a good thing we’re not in Texas.

I like Big Frank’s, I really do. Do I absolutely love it? No, but it’s your average easy go-to when you don’t feel like cookin’. I probably come here once every six months or so… must be the cool pig themed décor and neon lights that get me back in the door. It’s decent priced, and a fast, easy meal that’s not McDonald’s or the BK lounge. They have burgers, dogs, BBQ, and many varieties of fries. I always end up getting a BBQ pulled pork sandwich and sweet potato fries because I’m a creature of habit. This time my pulled pork was kinda blah… it needed more BBQ sauce. The cole slaw is so-so, but the cornbread that came with my meal was pretty delish. My stepdad got fried clam strips which he said were frozen and not very good. I’d stay away from those and stick with a burger or BBQ.

My favorite BBQ place of all around. There is something in that BBQ Sauce on the counter that just screams delicious. The patties are a bit thinner than other burger joints, but so is the price. The flavor is what makes these burgers my favorite. It cannot be beat. So far I have had their burgers, tater tots, fries, potato skins, and hot dogs. All supreme so far. The bathrooms are tombs, literally. Its one of those«step in the toilet to shut the door» bathrooms so make sure you go before you hit the road. Parking is a hassle during the day. It is connected to a plaza and there are plenty of spots, but this place is BUSY. I often have to park across the plaza and walk. Waiting isn’t bad considering they make the food fresh infront of you. I never wait in line more than 5 minutes and on average that is how long I wait for the food too. As mentioned, price is very fair. Better than some non-fresh fast food burger joints. It is noisy in there at times and I wouldn’t take my children there for the fact that it is big boy food and a big boy atmosphere, but I would mind bringing them home a doggy bag. There is plenty of seating both indoor and out, and if you want to take home, they package the food very well and make it easy to carry out without spilling sauce everywhere. I recommend this if you live in the area. If you are not from around here, it is worth a trip.

I LOVE this place ! The beef brisket sandwich is super satisfying. The portions are huge. We’re always left with leftovers which I don’t mind. I haven’t tried something I didn’t like. Some things you should try are: beef ribs, brisket sandwich, whole BBQ bird, fish sandwich, cole slaw, and Mac salad.

When I think of good BBQ, I think of delicious food with that special homemade taste. You will not find that here. This was my second visit and I will not being coming back for a third.

I’m a big fan of BIGFRANKS! It was a famous BBQ spot in Waterbury for many years operating under a different name/ownership, before being bought by Frankie’s hot dogs, which is a staple restaurant in the Waterbury area. They maintained the original quality and recipes for the the food and seem to being doing very well. The food is cooked to perfection, I. e the ribs fall off the bone and there is an assortment of yummy sauces(BBQ, Hot sauce, ketchup, ECT.) When the season is right you can sit outside and enjoy your food. This isn’t health food so don’t come here if you are counting calories. If you want some quick delicious BBQ, look no further. P.S– A 4pc rib combo is more than enough to fill up a grown man.

I went here with my wife for lunch on Saturday, 1÷7÷12. We both had the special, chicken salad sandwich. The portion size was good. The bread was borderline burned and the chicken salad was dry. My wife had 2 chicken bones in her sandwich, very dangerous. I would have given a 1 star but I have eaten here many times and find their hot dogs and burgers good.
