My Philly cheese steak was absolutely delicious. It was loaded with onions, peppers, tomatoes, and lettuce. The steak fries were great. You can tell that the restaurant uses fresh oil. Plenty of parking. Large dining facility. Modern looking and clean. Waitresses brought the food quickly. Food was fairly priced. I will definitely come back. You have made another long term customer.

This place is close to home for me so I would often order take out breakfast from here and I have also been here for the dinner specials a few times. The service is good, the food is a great value. However, the last time I came in and got myself a takeout breakfast, I witnessed a very hissy fit outburst from the cook in the kitchen. He was yelling at a server about an order from a picky customer. For the customers to witness that was not good for your business and just based on what I saw that day, I will not be back. He may be the manager or owner, but you are not supposed to speak to people that way in the work place, it makes for an uncomfortable environment for your customers.

I only go for breakfast and I get the strawberry waffles. They make the topping with fresh strawberries. You can taste the difference, I highly recommend.

The breakfast here cannot be beat! The breakfast sandwiches ROCK! If you ask for crispy bacon, you get crispy bacon! Also, the fruit cup in the morning is so fresh and delicious.

The eggs Benedict are the go to here! Fresh poached egg over a flavorful Canadian bacon slice and hidden under a golden butter curtain of hollandaise sauce. Stacked on a toasty English muffin. Me and hubby treat ourselves to breakfast on the weekends, and we only come here for this dish.

I just read the negative reviews for Jimmy’s Family Restaurant. I am amazed! Are you people alive? I’m from Astoria Queens, NY, where food, restaurants etc are beyond amazing, no question! My son lives in Waterbury and I come up every two weeks to visit. Rule #1 we have lunch at Jimmy’s, where I order 4 pies at least to take home-they are beyond great! Meals are ample, delicious and absurdly inexpensive. When I leave a tip, my son comments that it is too much. Not even close. Every waitress has been a pleasure and instantaneous in care. What a great place. I am going tomorrow, friday, and already called ahead for two peach pies, a chocolate banana cream pie and maybe a couple more, I’ll decide when I get a look at them. If this place was in New York, there would be lines to get in. Retro décor, old school aura, friendly, inviting staff, inexpensive, what a wonderful experience! Run, don’t walk! Is there anybody alive up here?

We enjoy Jimmys 2 for its diner atmosphere, reasonable prices, and nice waitresses. Mostly there for Sunday morning breakfast. One of the reviews did not like the ‘gritty’ pancakes — but the pancakes are my favorite item on the menu, reminiscent of griddle cakes served along the shoreline. If you are a foodie looking for gourmet, try Leo’s instead. If you want the basics at a good price, you ought to try Jimmys 2.

I have been here four times. Three for breakfast once for lunch. The lunch was OK turkey sandwich and Fries. The breakfast is TERRIBLE!!! Awful pancakes they taste gritty. Watered down coffee and home fries that were not cooked enough. Sorry but never will I spend my $ here its not worth it.

I went to breakfast at Jimmy’s this morning, 2÷27÷14. They have a breakfast special for $ 2.99, which includes 2 eggs, home fries, toast and coffee. I had my eggs over easy with Italian toast, which I highly recommend. The eggs were cooked perfectly as was the toast. The home fries were tasty and the coffee was good. We had great service and the restaurant was in good shape as they had recently opened and probably renovated. I can’t personally comment on lunch but a friend has gone here several times and said it was very good. The waitress also told us that they have a dinner special for $ 10.99, which includes an entrée, vegetable, soup and salad. For $ 2.99 why get breakfast at a fast food chain when you can sit and eat with service.

that was the worst lunch I have had in a long time. I first was served a tossed salad… lettuce and onion were limp as if it was sitting out a long time. my son ordered two footlong hot dogs… the waitress brought his plate out and said they were out of foot longs so they gave him 2 buns with 4 reg sized hot dogs? weird and the hot dogs tasted nasty…, fries were barely warm… my other son ordered pancakes… they apparently didn’t wipe off the grill because they tasted like burgers and onions. will never go back there again, would not recommend.
