Meant to update my review based on the subsequent visit paid to this establishment. I didn’t wait nearly as long in between oil changes and declined the extra oil cleaner treatment offered up during my 1st visit. This time around the attendant was annoyingly insistent about it. Declined again and he offered up a slight discount on it and I was finally like, whatever, go ahead, but just did not like the tone of the whole transaction. It seems to me that one should not offer an oil change price you can’t afford against your bottom line and then try to shove an upsell down a customer’s throat. And, truly, in retrospect how do I know if they really did add anything for what they are charging/offering? I mean you can’t see all of what is really going on when you sit trapped in your car. Or is there a sales or commission quota to where the attendant can’t make a decent living without harrassing you to do the buy? I dunno, that last visit was just overall unpleasant. I go elsewhere for my oil changes now and just pay a fair/standard price.

Just got ripped off at Al’s Quick Lube on Dixie Hwy and I am trying to file a complaint with the owner. I called the shop back to get information on how to file a complaint with the owner and Matt«the area manager» told me to file it with the BBB. We’ve been a customer for many years but not anymore. We are on their mailing list and get oil change coupons for $ 12.99 or $ 14.99 and never had a problem before. Today I pulled in and explained that I am on their mailing list but didn’t have my coupon with me and asked if I could still get the coupon price. The attendant said yes and I asked how much the oil change would cost. He said $ 14.99 and $ 16.99 out the door. I said ok. Then when Matt came with the bill he said it was $ 29.99 — $ 5.00 so it would be $ 24.99. I asked him how it got to $ 29.99 and he said that was the price. I told him I was quoted«$ 16.99 out the door» before I agreed to the service. He confirmed this with the employee and then said«oh that was for a different location». I told him we have never been charged $ 29.99 before and I would«not have agreed to the oil change for that price». He said I gave you $ 5 off and I didn’t have to. Bottom line is I was quoted one price and charged a higher price. Matt had the opportunity to take care a long time customer but he chose not to. Only after calling back to file a complaint did Matt say I could come back and«get the $ 3 difference». I told him I wasn’t driving back up there and it was more than a $ 3 difference. He then said ok we will mail you a check for the $ 8 difference. If the owner Jim reads this, please have a talk with your employees about honesty and customer service. Obviously, they don’t value their customers.

I’m rather picky when it comes to servicing my car, after all I used to change oil and wrench at local Auto Repair Shop for 5 years. I’m here to tell you that Al’s Quick Lube is an outstanding local business in Waterford. I found a coupon on on for a really great price on an oil change — I think it was $ 14.99, so that’s what drew me in. A lot of times, you’ll go to these little quick lubes and be pestered with questions — do you want this oil, do you want a fuel injector cleaning service, do you want this, do you want that?!? Well, that was not the case here. The two gentlemen respected the fact that I brought in a coupon, and knew that I came in for a purpose — to get an oil change. One of the two gentlemen did ask me if I’d be interested in a transmission service, which I actually was, my car recently hit the 100k mark, and it has been something I have been meaning to do, and these guys were running a special for $ 89.99. I had the time, and that price really can’t be beat(otherwise, they’re going to be losing some money, and hey, I’m all about supporting local business). Bottom line — if you want quick, great service and are all about supporting local businesses(that are not franchises) — I“d strongly recommend using the services provided by Al’s Quick Lube. I for one will be taking my car back here for sure. As they finished, the one tech gave me a frequent oil change punch card — $ 5 off per oil change AND your 8th oil change is free! Thanks guys — I will be back!
