Really nice place. Fresh salsa. I had the carnitas platter. The pork was crispy. A little dry but nothing a little lime couldn’t improve. The owner was very nice and the local kid working what I imagine was his first job was great. Very attentive. Fresh Pico de Gallo was nice. I’m not a huge fan of soupy refried beans but what are you going to do? This part of Stanislaus county is 102% white.

Food is good as it gets but costs to much to go very often. Service is by dad or daughter very friendly but needs more experience.

Now called La Herradura, nice little family run place. Both the food and the service were excellent. Delicious salsa, bottled CocaCola and tender beef.

We just had a really yummy lunch there. Great carnitas, hand made corn tortillas, rice, beans, guacamole and salsa. And great service too!

All around it was decent. Chile Relleno was pretty good. Burritos lack salsa, guacamole, or sour cream. The chips and salsa were cold and watery. Street taco was good, but watery as well. The server was very friendly, but clearly overwhelmed. The effort is there, they just need to dot some Is and cross the Ts.

Tried the New Mexican restaurant in Waterford. The dining area has been redone and looks nice. The restrooms are really, really, bad. The food was hit and mostly miss. The prices are high, and the portions are small. My three item combination consisted of one taco truck taco that was very tasty but barely had any meat, a chili relleno that was small but was about the best I’ve ever had, and an enchilada that was poor to say the least. The enchilada had the same amount of meat you would find in a taquito, no cheese inside, and covered with grocery store sauce. I’ve never been to a Mexican restaurant that does not make their own sauce. Then, there was the chips and salsa. Really crappy, cold, store bought chips, and, the best way to describe the salsa is one tablespoon of pace picante and three tablespoons of water. Anyway, by the look of the restrooms, I would guess they ran out of money and had to cut corners on the food. With all the problems listed above, this restaurant is destined to fail. Such a shame.
