Always fantastic service here! They remeber your name, even from just one visit! Been coming here for over a year now and never a bad experience! John is always great to us and the staff is always friendly!

I’m here from out of town so I was pleasantly surprised when I found this place! Atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing meal and a few beers! Great conversation from bartenders John and Kimmy! I highly recommend any of the Boxty meals and don’t bother with fries! Get the Guinness braised cabbage! Finally I have to say the price was great! I ate a filling meal and drank 4(or 5) micro brew premium beers for about $ 35!

Asked for a sample of their soup and the bartender said no will never order anything because of that terrible service

This place is awesome! Very clean inside and the servers are quick and very friendly. The food was hot, fresh and damn good. The fried pickles were awesome! I would come back here everyday for dinner if I could!!!

IT is definitely a local hole in the wall bar and you shouldn’t expect much when planning on going there. They have full menu but I have only even eaten the mozzarella sticks once. The bar is fully stocked with liquor and beer. But they only have 2 – 3 beer on tap, almost all beers come in either a bottle or a can. It is a little disappointing since I look forward to drinking draft beer when I go out, if I wanted to drink out of a bottle I would stay home.
Every Thursday night IT has trivia and karaōke. The place fills up for trivia and dies down a little for karaōke. The speakers a kind of loud for a place like this. It is a little hard to have a conversation over the terrible singing.
I have been here on a Sunday for open mic night before and the place was completely empty! I felt really bad for the performers. And when I say empty I mean me and my friend where the ONLY people in there.
The air conditioning unit dips a little bit and there have been nights where we had to more our table to avoid it. Overall this place is just a small little local bar filled with local people having a good time.

First time here, and the food is great served very hot and stays hot. The place is very clean from what I can see. Staff is friendly and looks professional.
Prices won’t clean your pockets out.

We met some friends here for lunch. The food was very bland. I had a chicken wrap and my husband had the reuban. The service was terrible. Granted part of the problem seemed that there was one cook and one waitress for the entire restaurant, but I still expect a waitress to check on the table. I had no silverware. I had to ask for a coke twice before I got it and all of our tables food came out at different times. This may be a good drink location but I would not recommend it for lunch or dinner.

I came here to grab a quick bite to eat. The Reuben was really disappointing, especially for the $ 9 price tag. I highly advise you do not order it. The quesadillas were actually really good. However, the service was poor at best. I told my waitress I needed one more minute to look at the menu, and she didn’t return for another 15 to ask for my order. I even made sure to put the closed menus far away from me so it was obvious I was not still deciding. She went to every other table multiple times, and even spent some time joking around with some friends that visited, before coming over. This occurred again when I received my bill and put my credit card out. Just really disappointed with the service. Also, I went during karaōke night, and the volume of the speakers was far too loud.
The only really good thing about this place, is that they serve food until 2am. A lot of bars stop serving food long before their last call, so it was nice that this place served food while anything else around was done doing so.

Meh… caution: «fish and chips all you can eat» special is comical. It’s good (Royal Diner on Dixie Hwy is better), but good luck getting a second helping. We paid extra for Walleye-​$ 14.99 — and after waiting 20 minutes for more (had 2 pieces each to start) she brought 2 more pieces… ummm, we have 3 people? And it turned out to be Cod, not Walleye. Waitress brought 2 more pieces (still not divisible by 3) my friend just took it home. Oh, and don’t ask for more tarter sauce. Even though they only give you a thimble full to start, extra thimbles cost 50 cents more! also, no, «chips» aren’t included in the all you can eat special. Don’t bother asking.

I think it’s important to stress that this is not a restaurant. This is a bar with a full menu. There is a difference and I think you’ll find that this bar is pretty good with that expectation in mind. I went on a Sunday around dinner time. It wasn’t too crowded or loud, but I can see that it could be. There is very good TV coverage for sports, and a Bose sound system that suggests they can make the building vibrate if they want to.
Everything was clean, though there was disappointing graffiti carved into our booth table. Stupid kids.
We waited a bit for service initially, but it seems there was just one server for the building. She was friendly and helpful explaining the menu. I got a Guinness and a burger. Note: I get all burgers without toppings or condiments for fair comparison. It was a pretty good, but dry burger. Nice and thick but overdone a bit. The fries were fries. The Guinness was great!
Overall this is a nice bar that serves OK food. But again, it’s a bar. People walking in there thinking it’s Appleby’s are bound to complain.

The wait staff (Angela) was wonderful. She explained everything thoroughly. Now the issue?
What Irish pub that touts its food doesn’t have corned beef? They had the corned beef for sandwiches but not for the dinner. Being our first time there, and the only reason we went to this Irish pub, that was very disappointing. We settled for a sandwich Box T I think and salads. I treated myself to a dressing I don’t usually get. I pour my dressing on to find it’s the wrong dressing. My partner says he will eat it, I will wait for a new salad. Dinner comes before the salad. The great server offered to hold our dinners, but I pictured our sandwiches frying under a hot lamp, so we took them.
Angela offered to give us coupons upon our return, was so very very friendly and very sorry about the incidents and lack of food. which is highly appreciated, especially under those circumstances. I don’t know if we will return. We drove 40 miles round trip each to meet in the middle specifically for corned beef, so you can understand my disappointment.
Thanks, Angela, for making us feel better, but no food on a Tuesday night? Not good.

Probably the worst wait staff I’ve ever encountered… Almost everyone at our table had their drinks spilled on them or in their food and we had three servers and every time they would come by they’d take one persons order and rush off leaving the rest of us sitting with empty glasses…
Might I add that everyone in the place got the buffet that was catered in. Meaning that all the waitresses had to do was bring drinks…
Oh, and one more thing. I’m pretty sure their glasses have holes in them and/​or the booze evaporates quickly in their environment. Hence the need for better servers.

Great food, great customer service. I’ve never had a disappointing experience here.

Stopped in here last night, just a bit too late for trivia but it looked fun. Karaōke followed. They have various events pretty much nightly. Food was very good, excellent beer selection with deals on all Michigan craft beers, and the bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about them. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. I’d have gone 5 stars if they had a pool table. But otherwise this place is great. (Didn’t sample the shepherd’s pie to see just how Irish they really are) but Jemeson and Guinness were there, good enough for me.

We decided to try this place again after several months of avoiding it based on our previous experiences. Sorry to say that it should still be avoided at all costs! Overpriced and terrible. They are ALWAYS out of something. Our dishes were awful. 2 stars because at least they have some MI beers in bottles and I believe 2 on draught. But still, never again.

Visited this fun spot last Friday with friends for a bit of dinner and a couple of pints. Ordered the all you can eat Walleye. When it arrived there were 2 pieces of «fish» on the plate with the promised sides. We asked the waiter to have the kitchen drop some more fish for us as these pieces would not last long. Didn’t happen, in addition upon a further look our Walleye was 70% batter with a sliver of fish inside.
Now I’ve had the fried Cod dinner here in the past and it was just the opposite, big chunks of fish nestled inside of a light crunchy batter. When our extra piece of all you can eat Walleye arrived it was even worse… a hunk of fried batter with almost no fish inside… and it took almost 30 min. for that to arrive. I then went to the kitchen staff and shared my disappointment. They didn’t seem to care, it was then that we decided to call it quits, finish our pints, pay our tab and head for the door.
Reminder to ownership… if you are planning to offer an all you can eat fish fry on Friday don’t cheapen your offering by replacing quality fish with batter and don’t train your staff on the floor and in the kitchen to ignore the guests.
Maybe next visit will be better. I hope so because we do enjoy this little neighborhood pub.

I love coming to IT! This is our default Friday night spot. Great food and awesome service! You gotta have a Reuben here. I like IT’s Reuben better than Zingerman’s in Ann Arbor. The only semi complaint I have about IT is the live entertainment that they sometimes have on week nights. It’s just not my thing, and I think that the venue is kind of small for that. But every time that I come here and they have live entertainment they have huge crowds, so others like it. Anyway, to sum it up, I give IT 5 stars. Waterford’s best!

Felt the need to update my review. I still REALLY wish the Irish Tavern would add sweet potato fries to the menu! (Note to owner… when I asked for them the waitress told me they get a lot of requests for them!)
But likely if you are reading this review you aren’t going just for sweet potato fries. You are wondering how the food is. And let me tell you, this has become my favorite place in Waterford food wise. Everything is just great… you really can’t go wrong. The fish is the best I’ve found, the fried chicken was absolutely great, a friend of mine who is very picky on reuben’s loved the reuben here, another friend loved the burger, and I also tried a little bit of a quesadilla appetizer which wasn’t bad. I haven’t found a bad meal at the Irish Tavern… and for many menu options they are easily the best option in Waterford.

This place was up and down for me. I may be spoiled after eating so much in Ypsi and A2, but I really expected more beer on tap.
The food we had was decent. We both had the corned beef boxty. It was decent, but came with plain boiled cabbage, which was disappointing. (To be fair, my husband loved it) I’m not sure I’d come back for the food.
Ambiance is lacking a bit, as well. We came on a friday evening and were seated under a very loud bass speaker, and there were very noisy children running around unsupervised. We might try again and see if this was a fluke.

Was only able to stay for some drinks, however this place is a gem with a sweet selection of beers and spirits! Great atmosphere and friendly waitstaff… recommended!
