I read these reviews and it is almost comical. bachelor’s has been a staple in the community for many years and it has undergone transitions in the last few years but 150% increase? Chicken wings were 10 cents on Monday and they are now 25 cents… beer has went up 25 cents… you can go down the road and spend 14.00 for a burger and fries or 8.00 here… all I can say is love b1

I’ve been here several times and I believe it’s under new ownership. The food is good but the kitchen is the SLOWEST! Also they need a bartender AND a table server.

Went in for $.10 wings and was really excited. The wait staff was great, but the wings were so disappointing. The wings were a nice size, but we’re barely edible. I hat the spicy wings that were mushy at best, and my friend ordered them naked, and they didn’t look like any chicken wing I have ever seen. Will NOT be going back.

My cousin and I went here on a Friday night looking for dinner and drinks. We liked the half off fish & chips, which was an entire filleted fish, and the fried pickles(their beer batter is really good!). The rest of their menu looked good too, would like to try more of it if I ever go back. The atmosphere is OK. The décor is rustic inside which doesn’t match with anything really but is kinda cool. They need more lighting, maybe hanging lights over the tables. After 9 they had a live band playing cover music, which was good but really loud for how small the room is. They have one pool table and a really old dart board. We played darts but we’re lucky that we were not playing seriously because the dart board was not very accurate with the points. The crowd is 40+ so a little bit older than we were looking for, but still nice people and overall we had fun. The bad part about this bar is that they overcharged me. We had separate checks and had ordered beers that were on special. When we cashed out, my check was more than I expected but they had already charged my debit card because of my open tab. I realized that they had charged me $ 6 each for the beer that was on special for $ 3. I disputed the charges and they did refund my card and recharged the new amount. When the money came out of my account, I realized that they double charged the tip(which was 20% of the first«wrong» check), taking it out on both transactions. I didn’t go back or call because I didn’t think it was worth the trouble, but I can’t help but feel cheated out of the cash and maybe taken advantage of, since I had quite a buzz that night. I really had fun and the food was good, but the money issue left a bad taste in my mouth and I don’t know that this will be on the top of my list for future outings.

These reviews are giving B1’s a bad rap. What I’m looking for in a dive bar night out is simple: good music(check), good drinks(check), inexpensive drinks(check), decent food so I don’t pass out(double check — food is really good actually) and good service(servers and bartenders are always super friendly and helpful). All in all, B1’s serves up exactly what I want for a night out. Although I do wish that once in a while they would have karaōke on a Saturday night instead of a band. They also have shuffle board, Golden Tee and pool tables if you are into that.

Don’t get me wrong, I like dive bars and local neighborhood joints but this place is something else! My brother is a regular here and DRAGS me here… has quite a few times over many years. Each time I go, I hate it. The«clientele» is Keego trash and I’ve never had fun here. I go for my brother’s sake since he never wants to go anywhere else.

Where do you go when you want to see the Lake’s Area 50 – 60 somethings hang out? Here. Live bands are just not my things anymore especially in small venues. Bands play way louder than necessary and the songs they play are about random. We heard a band play a Mister Mister song followed up by a Kenny Rogers ditty and a horrible cover of Loverboy. The thrice divorced Keego-Sylvanites ate it up. The one plus of the night was that we saw Todd the bartender. He used to own the Backseat Saloon and not P/T’s it at the Bachelor. He’s a great guy and knows how to poor the perfect beer or make a great drink. Glad to see him again.

Me and my friends enjou it here most of the time. It’s always a wild card if the bar is gonna be packed or if we are going to be the only ones in there. They have cheap drinks, keno, live music, and good staff.

Apparently under new management. Little better than it was. Lots of young people, live music. Not the kind of place to bring your wife or anyone else you care about as the patrons are a little rough, hammered lets say with a hint of other substances. Not exactly like the movie«the road house» But the closest I’ve seen, minus the fence around the band.

Needs Work My Wife and I met some friends on valentine’s day to see the band EMS. They arrived a hour before us and ordered steak bites. They had not received their food till after we had ordered(about 1 hour 15 minutes) and while cooked to a nice med rare they were unseasoned. I ordered the extreme heat wings which arrived in a timely 15 minutes and were good. The sauce was excellent(a little light but they brought more) habanero based wonderful flavor great heat. they use a meaty whole wing and they cooked them done, but not dry. My wife ordered the shrimp scampi and i ordered the teriyaki glazed chicken. The wifes scampi was ok, shrimp cooked to perfection, pasta slightly over cooked. The chicken while cooked well(done but not dry) was flavorless. Lack of seasoning was the theme for the evening. They have a new chef that i sensed has not yet discovered the strengths and weaknesses of his staff. They as a restaurant are moving away from straight from the freezer, to the fryer, to you, bar food. I am going back! If the chef can control his staff they can produce great food so i will give them some time and see what happens. great idea needs better execution.
