LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! If not for their location this place would never make it. Lets start off by saying the girl that takes your order at the front needs an attitude adjustment, actually, replacement. I asked if the coconut shrimp were breaded there or if they came in frozen and she said, with attitude, «I don’t know, I don’t look back there.» I said, «Well could you ask?» Guess what, you work at the establishment, you should know. Terrible, i was ready to leave right then but we thought we would give it a shot anyway. Without getting too much into the gross food lets just say don’t expect to get clams in your«clam fritters» no exaggeration there was one piece of clam in 4 fritters. See pic below. Save your money and tastebuds and go to Flanders Fish Market.

One of the best places to pull into by boat and meet friends. Low key summer place without tons of tourists.

Great place to stop on the way back from the beach. First time here and will definitely be back! All my interactions with staff were great and the food was better than your average fried fare. The prices and portions were perfectly matched. Fun view of the boats on the water. Will definitely be back!

Don’t waste your money on this place. Yes, it’s a great location with a nice view of the river, but the food is very below average. I went there yesterday with my boyfriend because we had a craving for lobster rolls. We ordered two of them, each with a side of corn and 1 pound of steamers. When the food arrived, we were eager to dig in. Disappointedly, the lobster was over-cooked and rubbery and left a fishy after taste. The corn was mushy with no flavor and the steamers were filled with mud and many of them were broken. That was a quick way to waste $ 50 and needless to say, we won’t be going back there.

I always come to this place when I’m in the area. We like to sit on the lower level by the water. I always have fun here, especially like the happy hour. I always bring friends here too. Your regular by the sea kind of food. Decent prices. Great views.

Soggy fried food. They got our order wrong and it took 40 minutes for them to make it. Clam strips were soggy and awful. My friend returned her chicken fingers. How bad do you have to be to get fried chicken fingers wrong? Definitely avoid this place. It’s unfortunate because the location is pretty.

Pass on oysters is all I got to say. We got kids some hamburgers which were pretty bad, and had shrimp and oysters ourselves. Service was nice, it’s def a dive but it was reasonably clean. My biggest issue was with the oysters, they were shucked right there at the bar. These were so mushy, milky and cloudy, I couldnt even eat them, I was sure I would end up spending some quality time near a toilet. $ 2.50 a piece, which I thought was a little over priced considering we were at some boat year with few a

Big fan of the beer tent and raw bar. great for happy hour 4 – 6 during the week; dollar off beers! excellent pregame before walking next door to sunset ribs for some live music! Staff is hilarious as well — especially Steve!

The food from this place has been continuously been bad. IMO this place ranks as one of the worst clam shacks in the state. That’s food-wise. Location-wise it’s one of the best because of it’s scenic deck(that’s the only reason to give 1 star). First of all, they usually run out of a lot of menu items. They often run out of the lobster rolls. On my most recent visit, my clam chowder had several isolated cold spots in it. I mean, geesh, would it have killed them to stir the pot a little bit? It was pretty bad. It was thick and lumpy too. :-(Bleeeech. Also, my crab cake was downright awful too. I don’t know what they did to it, but it seemed like a Mortons dump truck backed up and dumped 10 tons of salt onto my crab cake patty. It was sooooo freaking salty. Like the clam chowder, it too, was barely edible. Seafood is expensive. You shouldn’t have to settle for poor quality. Your best bet is to go to Dad’s Restaurant only one mile away for your seafood fix. I can vouch for their food. Then afterwards, drive to The Dock to enjoy a beer and the sunset from their deck. They can’t mess up a bottle of beer, right?

I had the fish and chips, a little greasy and the quality wasn’t the best. Nice view from the dock but I’ll skip this place in the future.

Dinners BEWARE! If you want food poisoning and to be sitting on the toilet for a day straight, sure try it. My whole family got terribly ill and yes it was coming out of both ends. Excuse this bluntness but it when you pay money for food you don’t expect to be poisoned. Someone should call the food department. Plus the staff was rude and the port o potties hadn’t been cleaned in a week. Disgusting

Worst lobster roll ever. No claw or tail meat. Was that butter or oil? Husband had under cooked(barely warm) hot dog with undercooked fries. View is great, though. Sells beer and wine.

Gets 5 stars from me. It is not fancy but the fish is good and the chowder is great every time. And you are at a marina. Great if you want a quick casual dinner. This is a great seasonal place if you are into eating seafood outside

This is a little slice of heaven. Love being able to sit overlooking the water eating fresh seafood. Even our daughter who only eats chicken enjoyed a freshly batter chicken breast for a very tasty sandwich. It is tucked away but is a treat when you find it.

Food was okay… Had the whole belly clam roll, clams were decent but it was pretty wimpy compared to many local clam shacks. My son had the oyster roll and it looked pretty wimpy too. Beers were cold and inexpensive, very cute and friendly staff!

Food and atmosphere was very nice and relaxing. They ran out of fritters so I could not try what I actually went for(hard to find a good fritter sometimes lol) but the fish, whole belly clams, shrimp and scallops from my fishermans platter($ 23.99) were really good. Sorta hard to find tucked away in a parking lot accross from sunset ribs and restaurant is about the size of a 1 car garage so look hard and you will be happy you found it!!!

Good old clam shack with decent lunch specials and seating on the river. The raw bar and beer tent is a nice touch. Nice place overall.

This is my SECRET restaurant. Whenever my central-CT friends visit me at the beach, I always suggest lobster rolls at «this great little shack I know». If it wouldn’t be too weird to blindfold everyone I bring here, I totally would, so that they could never share the secret for the best lobster rolls ever! Luckily for me, this place is hidden at the back of a dockside gravel parking lot, at the end of a dead end road, behind a biker bar and a sports supply store. So, if my friends violate their bloodsworn oath never to return without me, they’ll probably end up lost and/or heckled by drunk bikers… perfect! That said, the quintessential elements of a lobster roll are all here: fresh seafood, dockside location, teenage cashiers on summer break… you get the picture. We also tried the clam chowder, which, though a little salty, was delicious! The menu also offers things like fried or stuffed clams, cheeseburgers, whole lobsters, swordfish, scallops, etc. There’s even a separate counter where you can order beer, wine, sangria or other alcoholic beverages and ice cream too. For me though, there’s no choice – it’ll always be the hot lobster roll when I come to The Dock.
