Ooooooh my goodness! I can very honestly say that I NEVER expected food so delicious to come out of little old Waterville. Harvest House is definitely doing it right. Typically I avoid olive tapenades because most I’ve had are too salty but I was quite impressed with the bread and olive tapenade we were served to start. After our bread and tapenade we had a cup of the tomato basil bisque and a cup of the French onion soup. The tomato basil had the perfect amount of basil and was the perfect consistency. The French onion… easily the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly unctuous and perfectly herbed. The cheese was also perfectly melted and somehow not too stringy to be able to eat it like a lady. Obviously, the soups were perfect. For my entrée I ordered the halibut, but I replaced the rice pilaf with a salad. The halibut was moist, tender and soooo delicious! The vegetables were roasted to perfection and the salad was quite tasty with a power greens mix and house-made vinaigrette. My dad got the Spencer steak with demi sauce and mushrooms and he said the steak was incredible AND he even ate the mushrooms and he doesn’t like mushrooms, so that says a lot. The restaurant itself is quaint and unique. The service was outstanding and definitely worth mentioning here. I loved the fancy food served with a laid back vibe. We ate here for the first time last week and tomorrow I’m going back with my boyfriend for more of that amazing French onion soup. This place may be a little out of the way but the food is out of this world! More than worth the drive!

This place is amazing!!! Don’t miss this and be sure to make reservations. They are only open for specific days and hours and chef John is a master at his craft. We had our office Christmas party here and they were very impressed with the serving and presentation.

They’re closed until March 2016. Until I sample a five star meal myself, it’s getting a 3. Please come back and blow me away so that I can give you a 5.

Recently I had the opportunity to meet and briefly chat with the owner of this quaint little restaurant while enjoying some frozen yogurt at Froyo Earth. He graciously invited me to visit sometime. I decided to take him up on his offer last weekend and drove up to Waterville just to kind of scope it out on the outside. We found a small house, almost a cottage, sitting some distance off the main road. I made the decision to call for reservations. Reservations are strongly recommended because of the small venue and the fact that they are only open Thursday through Saturday, five to nine. Fresh fish and meat is delivered every Thursday morning guaranteeing you the freshest possible meal. They buy small, carefully chosen amounts of food and depending on business may run out of an entrée early. Like even days early. Lol I called and left a message on Monday requesting reservations and got a call back the same day. Confirmed dinner for two on Saturday. We arrived this evening a few minutes early. We were pleasantly surprised at the interior of the restaurant. Dining is family style with most people sitting at a long, rustic wooden table. There are some smaller tables and even small meeting rooms and private dining areas available, also. Now, I have to say that when I hear the word«quaint» I usually associate it with a run down, somewhat battered place full of musty antiques. However, I can say for a fact that the Harvest House is truly a quaint and comfortable place. It also doubles as an art gallery with dozens of beautiful water colors and other types of hand painted pictures throughout. Most were done by the owners daughter and they are very well done, very high quality, and nearly all of horses. I’m not a horse person, per se, but I was very impressed with the paintings. We both ordered baked halibut with rice and vegetables as our main course. I had a wonderful mixed green salad and my wife a Caesar salad. Large, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We were also served home made bread with tapenade to go with it. We throughly enjoyed our salads and bread. We also ordered a bottle of Château Faire Le Pont Pinot Noir which was delicious and a better accompaniment to the halibut than you would expect. Lol Oh, the halibut! It was probably the best halibut I have ever eaten and I’ve eaten plenty! It literally melted in my mouth, delicate and richly flavored. Perfectly seasoned so you could tasted the fish. It enhanced the flavor without overpowering it. Served with a light and aromatic rice and fresh vegetables prepared slightly al dente. A gentleman sharing the table with us had the seared Ahi and was very happy with it. Being from Oahu he has had plenty of Ahi so I took this as high praise. The owner brought out a freshly made Raspberry pie and we split a piece for desert. It wasn’t a cooked pie… The raspberries were totally fresh and crisp, sliced and layered in to a pie crust served with fresh whip cream mixed with Raspberry juice. Light, just the right amount of tartness, and loaded with flavor. Throughout the course of the evening the owner stopped by and chatted several times with us as did the chef himself. Friendly, and obviously having a true passion and love for what they do, they presented us with an extraordinary dining experience that so far exceeded our expectations that we talked about it all the way home. On top of everything else, prices were very reasonable and our two dinners, salads, a bottle of wine, and desert set us back, with tax, about eighty-five bucks. If you aren’t a wine drinker you could have a five star meal for two for less than sixty dollars. Harvest House Dinner Club is a true jewel buried in the heart of Waterville, the last place you would expect to find anything remotely resembling a five star restaurant. Well worth the trip from Wenatchee and surrounding areas. We will absolutely, positively be back!

What a delightful, unexpected surprise! The overall visual approach started off as simple being that the restaurant started out as a victorian house from the 40’s. Once inside the gate, it was becoming obvious that there is more to this than met the eye. We enjoyed a glass of wine from Mary Hill on a small outside seating area before dinner. We had the salmon with caper sauce and we are still reminiscing over the taste and presentation. The seating is community style with a big oak table that seated 12 people. There are always reservations with that but the table was filled with beautiful people that were there for the same reason… good food.

I love everything about this place. Beautiful old farmhouse, great décor and comfortable casual atmosphere. Great wine and beer selection. Tasty creations from the hands of someone who knows what they are doing. Irresistible desserts. All the more special because it is in such an unexpected place.

June 28th update… I neglected to mention the best part about the meal … the dessert! Strawberry lemon parfait made with the freshest local strawberries picked that morning. Major Yum!

Wow … where to start? This gets your attention at every possible angle. Once you’ve parked your car and face the front of this old victorian farmhouse, you know you’re about to walk into some real home cooking. But, what you don’t expect at first, is that you’re about to also walk into an art gallery. Southern artwork displaying horses, cowboys and the like, is definitely not my kind of style. However, these are some really, really nice pieces. The work is done by Don Nutt of Coulée city, and is quite impressive. Different paintings are displayed in each room of the Gallery/Supper Club, which all have their own theme and style. At the front, is a nice little tasting room, where you can choose from their excellent selection of wines. They also have a good assortment of fine brews. When being seated by their top-notch, most friendliest staff in the world, you are invited to tour the facilities, and are advised of that evenings dinner. Generally this is a family-style event. As an example, I will speak of the dinner I had(and you may want some napkins, should you start drooling all over your keyboard). It started with a piece of «Cheesy Grits». This was a 2 inch piece that had a sort of sweet’n’sour sauce on it. I had never had such a thing, and it was awesome! Especially with just a dash of salt on it. This, as is every single thing you will eat, is completely homemade. Following that, were some really nice dinner rolls, and then a salad with really good vinaigrette, which also, of course, is homemade. Now that your taste buds are properly flowing, here comes the mashed potatoes and jambalaya! Quick note: If you call in advance, and let them know of anyone’s food allergy, they will actually make dishes tailored to that! What more could you ask for! Now … the main dish. I knew at this point that I was in for something exceptional, but I had no idea. Unbelievable. It started with a plate of ribs which, just fell right off the bone. The sauce was absolutely perfect, and best thing about it, is that each different cut of meat, had its own kind. Following the ribs, was the brisket which was also served with some pork and beans. I’m not a big fan of brisket, every time that I have had it, its always been a little tough for my liking. But, this was nice and tender, and I absolutely loved it! Right after the brisket was brought out, they backed it up with some BBQ chicken, that was to die for! The flavors from the skin just soaked right into the meat … fantastic. Now, these aren’t just large portions being brought to the whole table where everyone«gets a piece», and is rationed, it’s all you can eat! They will make it well known, that if you need more, just say so. This is an incredible value at $ 30 per adult, and $ 15 for the kids! So, just when you think can’t handle anymore, and you’re in absolute heaven over the meal you just ate, they top it off with desert. They offer a great cheesecake with your topping of choice, and to make it better, the fruit toppings are not from a can(sweet and syrupy) but, are totally fresh! They also had a pecan-pie, red-velvet cake, strawberry shortcake, and more. There was not a single disappointment at the table! I have been here twice now, and I’m always sad to leave. They make you feel so at home, its almost like leaving family from out of town. Located in Waterville Washington, which is about 45 minutes east of Wenatchee, its a 2.5 hour drive for me to get there from Gig Harbor/Seattle Washington. And I would drive there anytime, just to have dinner and then drive back home. Its worth every minute, and every penny. Even for those who live in Kentucky … its worth the drive! I would recommend anyone traveling across the state from the west side, to take HWY2 and make this one of your stops. Its the best detour you’ll ever take. I can’t speak highly enough about not only the food here, but its topped-off with unsurpassed service, friendliness, and a really nice atmosphere. Make this your destination for the summer, and prepare to be completely satisfied with your experience!
