Cruz Brothers Hardwood Floors

Made an in home estimate appointment this week and Cesar was a no show. Not even a phone call. I guess they didn’t need our business.

Oscar and his crew do beautiful work! We had them refinish and stain our hardwood floor. We also had them rip out some existing tile in our kitchen. They replaced the tile with hardwood to create a better flow throughout the house. They ripped out the tile quickly and took care of all the disposal as well. My floors are beautiful and seamless! You can’t even tell that the hardwood in the kitchen was recently done. I received several bids, and decided to go with Cruz Brother’s because of his follow-​up and willingness to answer all of our questions. Also, he is licensed and bonded, has a ton of experience, and his bid was comparable to the other bids. Their work was detailed, they were clean, covered up all of our blinds, closets, etc. and ensured that we were happy with their work. I also liked that he regularly provided updates throughout about their progress. They are great to work with, your floors will never look better! I LOVE our floors and my house just looks exquisite.

Cruz Brothers installed laminate in one of our bedrooms and it looks amazing! Can’t wait to continue with our other rooms once finances permit. They were quick, thorough and we couldn’t be happier with their services. Finding reliable, reasonably priced, hard working contractors in Santa Cruz can be challenging, they are all that and more. I highly recommend them!

These guys are capable of doing very nice work. The owner, Oscar is very attentive and professional and his installers know what they’re doing but I’m removing stars because of their habit thinking they’re finished and leaving only to have to be called back because the job is incomplete. They did this two times and it was maddening since all of the other construction trades couldn’t do their job because the floor wasn’t finished. I think they actually didn’t notice that they only completed half of the bathroom. Then, when they came back to finish up, they left several square feet of floor incomplete in the basement. They insist that the house be vacant while doing the stain and varnish but screw up the timeline so bad that everyone else shows up while they’re working. Then they get annoyed and rude. I had to call them back a third time to fill in the thousands of nail holes in the floor that they forgot to take care of.
Ultimately, the work was done and it’s quite nice but the cost of delays and the 24 boxes of finished flooring that were left over (that can only be returned for 50% credit) made them not a good choice.

Cruz Brothers did a great job on refinishing my hardwood floors. We bought a house with hardwood nearly throughout, and it had a lot of wear and some warping. There were a few deep scratches that I thought would show through, but they were able to level it and helped me choose the refinished color. WOW. My floors look stunning… so uniform, and like brand spankin new. The finish brings out the natural hues of the wood, and I ablsolutely love it. They took this ugly duckling to a swan in the time frame they promised and their price was competitive compared to the other quotes I got for the job. Happy to support a good local, family business.
