The owner of Hugo’s doesn’t have respect for his restaurant. Seriously, he owns a shiny black corvette but his businesses look like crap yet he knows we will keep coming here for the cheap pizza. It’s so run down and gross but I’d be lying if I said the pizza isn’t good. Order to go. This place is a nightmare to eat in. There’s tagging all over the walls, flies buzzing everywhere and cheese all over the tables. Inattentive mothers letting their screeching kids run around barefoot all over the place. Seriously, I had to run to grab a 2 year old that was about to climb into the hot oven.(His mom didn’t say thank you and neither did the staff.) The soda machines have been broken since I was a freshman in high school, about 6 years ago. I wouldn’t eat here again if i could help it. If their dining area is this gross and uncared for just imagine how unsanitary your pizza is.

I love pizza and when I find a privately owned pizza place I get excited since they have been the best pizza places in my opinion. Well not this place. The pizza ok. The food is the main part of the experience then the over all feel, upkeep and cleanliness of the restaurant is very important. This place was just down right dirty and a hang out place for junior or early high school. I had to look at the menu on the wall which would be ok if they had the lights on. All they had for a light was a cheep wall mart lamp with no shade. Did I mention the place was dirty. Table not wiped down and the one large center table had empty soda cans on it. The staff that took the order had no idea of what they were doing. So if this piZza had been any good I could over look how dirty yet place is. But the pizza was not good. Crust around edges were under cooked. The pizza was oZing grease and the half with pineapple only had a few piece I do keep an open mind when eating at places like this. I recommend going else where. Scip this joint and go to mountains mikes.

This is the best pizza to be found in Watsonville. The place is kind of a dump and the service is so-so. Just call your order in for take out and enjoy it. The prices are great.

The pizza is great! I love the crust. It is soft and fluffy, almost like french bread you would buy at a supermarket. The sauce could be better — I swear it is missing some spices. But the way they top the pizza with the cheese, it’s completely genius! It’s a combination of cheese-pepperoni-cheese. The restaurant itself, however, could use some remodeling. The floor is completely disorganized… It needs new flooring. And the tables and chairs need to be replaced because some are ripped and some are dirty. If that is dirty, how well do you think they keep other things cleaned like their oven or their food? Think CHEFRAMSAY. Cleanliness is next to godliness. As a family-friendly restaurant, I believe they could do better. Their pizzas are great, but they need to remodel their dining experience. As for the employees, they need to be more professional. No bling, no excessive makeup, and no gossiping.

had to give this place a try since i heard its owned or somewhat connected with was a weekday night and well after dinner time when we decided to dine in. the moment we stepped in i knew it about to go downhill, tables were still cluttered from the previous people who ate. probly just an aftermath from a dinner rush so maybe theyre a bit behind. got to the counter to order our pizza and got greeted by one of staff who happens to be still eating. isnt that normally done on the side when you take a break or have somebody take care of customers who is not eating while taking orders?? guess theres always something new out there lol! so since we have placed our order and did told them were dining in, i was kinda expecting somebody would at least clean up one of the tables or maybe try to show an effort of doing something but i guess that was just wishful thinking. just ended up eating across the counter which would i guess seem like a bar or pretty much the only spot left thats clean. guess 2 stars is being generous just because they are affiliated with pizzamia but i dont know when ill be back to give them a try again.

I just placed an order for pick up due to the some what bad reviews. Wanted to personally determine if it was being rated fairly. The review went south right as the phone was answered, the employee was not professional in any means, expressed herself in short incomplete phrases. I asked for the special and she seemed frustrated as if she wanted to finish my order and hang up. Well see how the pizza tastes wait for my second review Second part: Staff don’t greet professionally, they asked justGot pizza by the time we got home pizza tasted good but had cardboard texture.

This is one of the dirtiest food establishments I’ve stepped foot in. From the front door to the back. Ripped and torn seats, filthy floors and vending games. The walls look like grease finish. Please clean your place up

Maybe I just caught them on a bad day but I got a slice of pizza and it took awhile just to get a slice and other people were coming in after and got there slices right away!!! The pizza had barley any cheese and was just hard as a rock, the place was just filled with flies and just has no atmosphere to it. Needs to be spruced up. Pizza was cheap So that was a plus.

This place gets 2 stars for their pizza alone… it was good. Maybe if I were only ordering take-out I would have given it more stars but the ambiance and the establishment in general was pretty poor. There was graffiti on some of the seats and walls. They had primer on the lower half of the wall as if they were going to re-paint but there was graffiti over that as well so it must have been there awhile. Pieces were missing from the seats, some of the tables had been cleared but still had crumbs, the floor was sticky, the soda machines were broken, and they didn’t have any ice(they acted as if that was normal). It was run-down and dingy and I’m not even going to comment on the odd décor. It seems like whoever owns the place has not taken any pride in their establishment. If it’s too much to keep up, then make it a take-out only place. Very disappointed.

Love the pizza and the calzones are amazing. Wish they had salads or something to give a little more variety though

Yes it’s cheep pizza but it’s really raunchy! Every time I go I get a combo slice or a simple pepperoni slice and like 99% of the time I will get stomach pain. I figured out that their product they put in their pizza is not fresh and the pepperoni and sauce is left out all day! So if your on a budget and want a quick and low quality pizza go ahead. I recommend going to Cassidy’s pizza if you want legit pizza. P.S plus the owner of Hugo’s(the short woman in the kitchen) is super rude!

I’m giving an extra star because the pizza was much better than I thought it would be. It tasted good. The person at the counter, who also made the pizza was helpful. 2 of us had a small combo $ 10. It was enough for lunch with a couple of slices left over.(I had one for breakfast the next day and it was still good.) OK, I took a star away because it’s not a place you want to stay and eat. It was clean. They even wiped down the table after we sat. But everything was covered in plastic. Chairs, tables, booths. I’m surprised the walls weren’t. I don’t drink soda but the machines looked like they were broken. I would definitely go there again. I would go there before Pizza Mia because I think the crust was thinner and crispier. And if your still hungry or need sugar, the cupcakes are nextdoor.

Great pizza!!! The place is not the business though! We went for carry out and every person that came in also did the same! The booths, tables, walls, everything was kinda run down. You’re able to see the kitchen and it was the only area that was really clean(thank God)! Again, the pizza is really good so it’s worth it to go get carry out! :D

I was gonna say«place could be renovated» but«could» is not appropriate. It needs to be renovated. the pizza slices are really big and the fact that it tastes just like pizza mia and pizza mia now requiring a $ 5 minimum purchase thy lost me. I will now get my slices from Hugos.

3.50 for a large calzone with 3 toppings. Get the chorizo! Also if you buy a large pizza you get a free small one. This place is the best in Watsonville.
