Mi Rancho

Good (but not spectacular) chili rellenos. Cooked just right but seemed like they’d been there for at least a day. TWO big ones on the platter for like $ 9, so great deal. Really neat historic building that looks like it hasn’t undergone significant renovations since the 40s or 50s. It’s like stepping back in time.
Definitely a local neighborhood (ghetto) hang-​out. I stopped by during a quiet time and was greated by a «host» who appeared to be a friend of the owner, drinking away the afternoon, ensconced at the front counter. He went on to haphazardly serve in the role of waiter and busboy at various times. Everyone was happy and the meal was relaxing.
I’m looking forward to returning at different times and exploring the menu further.

This place is like going to grandmas house! Authentic mexican food. Everything is so good and fresh. Hand made tortillas even! My favorite dish so far has to be the enchiladas morelianas. They are amazing and what enchiladas are supposed to taste like. Not the cheese drenched kind they serve at other mexican restaurants. The only down side is that it’s cash only. You have to try it!
