Hand made tortillas… Uh, yes please! Charming mexican ladies serving traditional recipes. Count me in! It’s funny that it’s in the bus station, but the best food comes from joints like this! After reading the reviews I thought I’d love the mole, but it was only so so. Kinda sweet for me. Maybe I don’t like mole in general! I did however mack on the carne asada. So much I went back for a bowl of just meat and fresh tortillas. They are so soft I wish I could sleep on a bed of them. With a meat pillow to lie my head on.

Love the asada tacos! Amazing flavor! I travel down from Capitola just to have the flavorful and delicious handmade corn tortillas with crisp meat.

A place you would never look for great food at a reasonable price, a bus station. The food is very authentic and is always very good…

This place is amazing. Every Friday they set up a booth at the local farmers market. They specialize in Oaxacan street food. The women are super friendly and everything is made from scratch and super authentic. They make all tortillas hecho a Mano and they are amazing. You can’t find a better spot for authentic homemade food.

Good grief this just has to be one of Watsonville’s best kept secrets. The Mole here is simply the best I have had in years. Don’t walk, run to this place before they run out of Mole for the day. When you eat-in don’t forget to get some Mole to go, because if you are like me, one serving is not enough. Discover what Oaxaca style is all about at Lidia’s Antojitos Oaxaqueños located in the Watsonville Metro Center.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Definitely good to park at cvs and cross the street into the transit center. Come early, this gal is a master and her stuff sells out early! Handmade tortillas for each order, awesome salsa, just WOW!

Oh yes, «Woohoo! As good as it gets!». We were actually camping at Sunset State Beach earlier this month, and craving Mexican««taqueria» food. as always, I went straight to Unilocal. One fellow Unilocaler did mention that it is a bit tough to find, and well, it is… Hint; Park in the CVS parking lot at the corner of W. Beach and Rodrigues and just walk across the street to the Transit Center. Yeh, the Transit Center. This little place is located inside. We ordered up a dozen tacos, a quart of rice and a quart of beans. I think we ended up with a mix of pork, green chicken and mole chicken. They didn’t speak much English, and I pretty much speak no Spanish. Fun nevertheless. So, that night I heated everything on the campfire, and oh man… Highly, highly recommended…

It’s a funny spot to walk to if you’re on foot downtown but perfect if you’re getting off the bus. Just two women banging out handmade tortillas and amazing mole behind a faded menu. Food is well seasoned and spiced. Meat is firm but tender and juicy. I recommend anything with mole and the pork and nopales burrito.

This is just a notice of how to find this darn place. I haven’t eaten here yet. Okay this place is actually located inside of the Bus Depot, where you buy your tickets. I thought it was the place that was outside. Nope. They don’t post their hours so we got there and they were closed on a Saturday. My guess is they are only open on Weekdays for lunch? I can’t wait to actually write about how good their food is. Too be continued.

I had heard about Lidia’s, but it was closed when I came by on another day. I don’t know if they are open for dinner, but they are open for lunch. I happened to be going to Santa Cruz from the Watsonville Transit Center on this particular day, and it was open for business! Unfortunately, the bus was ready to board, and I had only a few minutes. So I went in to ask what their business hours were. Well, my Spanish isn’t fluent, and their English was even less fluent, and I was worried that my bus would pull away, so I ran off to catch it. The next day I was running errands, so I decided to stop by again, this time to buy lunch. I bought a mole negro con pollo with beans, rice, salad, and even a couple pieces of sweet bread that was offered to me. Tortillas are handmade. All this was $ 6. Considering that you could go to a fast food joint for a combo meal for the same price, it’s a much sweeter deal to come here. Plus they have tamales with mole negro and empanadas. Yumm… I guess I’ll be back for lunch again to try other menu items. I’m so glad there is finally an Oaxacan restaurant with mole negro. Now when I have a craving for Oaxacan mole, I can go to the transit center for lunch. It would be cool if they offered other moles, too, i.e. mole amarillo, mole verde, mole coloradito, mole rojo, etc., but I guess that would be too much to ask of a tiendita in the bus depot. I’m just happy that they have the mole negro!

Here I am again, reviewing this awesome little Taqueria. This past Christmas I didn’t feel like cooking, so I asked the owner, Lidia, if they do large catering orders and guess what, they do! They recently moved from the outdoor kiosk into the main terminal, so now they have more space(and tables) and are able to do catering orders. Needless to say, my guests LOVED the Mole Negro(I asked her to make it with turkey, it was deeelish!) Not only that, she included home made tortillas, rice, beans, and threw in some of that delicious salsa of hers with the order and it was super cheap for a party of 12! They also make tamales and, one of my favorite dishes: Quesadilla with some sort of flower in it. Love this place!

Smokey chocolatey scrumptious mole(con pollo y arroz)! The best home made tortillas I’ve had in. quite possibly… my entire life. And the pumpkin blossom sopas are decedantly string cheesey. Their quite original salsa doesn’t disappoint. Plenty of vegetarian options. It’s such a pleasure to find some mexican street food refreshingly different from the stale old tacos and burritos. It’s right up there with Café Campesino in Santa Cruz, but half the price. Which is to say… I’m a fan. Who would have thunk this little hole in wall would be such a gem? It’s the last place you’d think because«Taqueria Lidias» is tucked inside the main terminal at Watsonville bus station.(Not the outside kiosks, inside the main building). Don’t let this scare you off… it actually looks a lot cleaner than other big hitter Watsonville taquerias like el Frijolito or the icky delicious Taqueria Delicias 2. Thanks Unilocal,I never would’ve known if it weren’t for you guys. It doesn’t have the best location, but at least there is good people watching. And yes, there are tables. The servers didn’t speak any english and seemed a little nervous at first, but we got past our language barrier and I found them endearing.

Holy Mole!!! Wow that was good. I could eat three servings. Unfortunately I had to split one order with my wife. Excellent reason to pull into Watsonville.

This place is DELICIOUS! I recommend the mole which is traditional Oaxacan mole made with spices and herbs and things like sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, chocolate, anis, etc. Their quesadillas are also delicious and HUGE. By this I mean that I only ate one, which is not the norm. The location is not ideal and somewhat hidden since the place is tiny. It is not a dine-in but rather you order at one window, pick up at the other window, and sit at some outdoor seating area if you wish. Or you could just take it home or anywhere else. The cooks are very friendly and helpful but do bring cash since they do not take cards.

Straight up, hands down, AWESOME food for crazy Cheap! I spend a LOT of time in Mexico– everywhere– and this place is legit! I read up about this place existing yesterday, and did not hesitate to stop by after work. The women there let me sample some mole and figure out what I wanted. The«serving system» is identical to Mexico City’s mercados, fast, clean and organized. Loved it! In short, I took dinner for 5 home! Quesadillas were great, mole negro delicioso, and the salsa just perfect for the quesadillas. This place saved my social life last night. I’m totally sold and promoting this place as of now. Quesadillas, huge quesadillas, $ 3 Mole negro, with rice, $ 5 Mexican Hot Chocolate, $ 1.25 (its the kiosk right behind the Rock/Metal shirt kiosk facing Rodriguez)
