Since Im still Fairly new to Waukegan I’ve been looking for a Really GOOD pizza place and Came across Double D’s pizza. I only tried it because it had alot of good reviews. I placed my order went to pick it up. It’s tucked away inside a place called jesters. It does have a weird smell and It is a little odd picking up you’r pizza inside a bar. But whatever The pizza here is seriously the BEST! Reminds me of my old neighborhood pizza place back in Chicago. The only bad thing I can say is the sauce could be a bit better. But overall it’s good. Anyone who lives in waukegan and has never had double D’s should Definitely go and try it.

Great pizza. Order the Double Decker Pizza and don’t be shy about the toppings. The toppings seriously make this pizza fantastic. I’m also a big fan of the wings. They have 5 or 6 sauces to choose from and they are perfect every time. In fact, they are probably some of the best wings in Waukegan. Beyond a great pizza, wings, and salad(I know… didn’t expect that, did you?) the rest of the food is standard stuff. The appetizers are mostly veggies and cheese that are deep fried until they all kind of taste the same; no real stand outs. The service is always very friendly and while the atmosphere is more tilted for the regulars that are in for the bar, it’s clean, spacious, and lit well enough that I could see bringing the wife and kids here to snarf down pizza, wings and beer.

Quick and Dirty: Real pizza, nice flavors… sauce, toppings, etc… — not the cheapest… but worth it Jester’s(aka Double D’s) is easily one of my three top thin crust pizzas. Th topping are generous, the sauce, sausage, pepperoni is flavorful. They make it to my specifications… extra thin and crispy. I have only ever used the pick-up method, never have eaten in the small restaurant/bar. Seems like they have some other good deals during sporting events. Have had the jalapeño poppers and they were normal, nothing special… but not bad. When in Waukegan — people often cite Mike’s, Quonset or Louie’s for pizza. I have had all three multiple times, but prefer the flavors/crust of Double D’s/Jester’s
