This pizza is freaking awesome. The food tastes great. I mean it’s good. There is ONLY pizza so you really can’t go wrong making something for so long. And the prices are outstanding. Quality pizza for the best price. But the service is shit. It’s always crazy busy. I get it. One phone line ringing off the hook. You have one kitchen. Not sure about the ovens. But seriously can’t understand why being told that my pizza would be 45 minutes to an hour that my pizza came 2 hours after being ordered. I called after 1.5 hours and they said it was on its way. Toppings weren’t right but I picked off what I didn’t order and ate it(at that point I had already started to munch on whatever I had at my place but I wanted piZza). I’ve had multiple experiences when you go in to pick up and you wait an extra 20 minutes to get your pizza. Look, I totally expect that during a football game or on a Friday night. But not every time we order. I would pay a couple extra bucks for my pizza if it meant I’d get it at a reasonable time. I would pay an extra couple bucks if that means you could fit someone in just to answer the phone or take people in line. Fit one more person into that tiny kitchen– heck! Renovate and get a bigger kitchen? Add a second location on the North side of Waukegan? I may be alone in that sentiment but I’m just putting it out there. I really want to order your pizza. It is so good. But I don’t want to wait for it and then get disappointed because it not what I ordered and not on time. Mike’s!!! Get your stuff together!

A rainy Tuesday afternoon, call in for a pizza delivery and I’m told that it’ll be 45 minutes to one hour. We call after an hour and a half and we’re told that they were waiting for their delivery drivers to get back and we’ll be on the next delivery cycle. After 2 hours we’re told that they were busy due to weather and a lot of drivers called in because it was rainy?! I told them that I would just come in and pick it up instead of waiting for the 4hour old pizza to be delivered, NO, it wasn’t ready but they could have it in 20 minutes. I asked why it wasn’t ready and I was told that they didn’t want it just sitting around, like they have ANY pride in ANY aspect of the business. Super rude people taking orders, ridiculous wait times and delivery/pick up issues, sub-par pizza, clueless management that take ZERO responsibility or corrective actions. I’ve been let down 3 times the last 3 attempts to get pizza from Mikes and the only reason I’ve tried again is because my wife’s family grew up on their pizza. Do Waukegan a favor and hang it up Mikes, leave a positive lasting memory on the very few valued costumers you have left.

Just ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and hot peppers. Got home and it was much crunchier than usual… Maybe sat under the warmer to long? I’ve had better from them. On a positive note the lady at the front was nice when i went in for my pick up and her nails were cute

If you’re from Waukegan, North Chicago, Zion ordering you already know it five stars! The pizza’s are cheap and taste good!!! That’s why they have such a long wait time because everybody orders from here lol

I really hate when the place you’ve ordered your pizza from tells you to pick it up in 45 minutes, and you arrive an hour after you’ve place that order(which is 15 minutes late) and it’s still NOT ready… If it was going to take an hour and a half, then they should tell me it’s going to take an hour and half. My time is important to me, and I don’t like wasting it, or having anybody waste it… I mean when do they start making your pizza? After you pay for it? Bad enough I traveled across town for this, but to be told it’s going to take extra time is bs, nobody’s pizza is that good…

The pizza(specifically«the garbage» pizza) is great especially if you ask for everything on it. Get wild and crazy with the toppings and it’s all delicious. I only give it 3 stars because it’s basically a delivery and pick up place only. It’s always crowded because it’s pizza is really that good. All in all, i would say, just grab and go and order in an hour because their cook time and service needs a bit of an improvement.

This establishment should not be in business. I picked up a pizza the other day and stood waiting for twenty minutes. This was twenty minutes after I was told that the pizza would be ready. During this time I watched the girl behind the window pick up the phone and then just hang up without even saying anything. One of the cooks wasn’t wearing gloves and kept coughing into his hands and continued making food. This place is dirty. I ended up leaving without the food.

So is anyone aware of a punch card?(Membership card) i was not until today, yet i have ordered 5 other times 2 pizzas at a time. How come none of the rude little girls that take my order ever mention it? I just get yelled at because they can’t hear my order. Customer service can be a lot better. Bad customer service brings the ratings down. My reason for the 1 star. Pizza is good customer service sucks. Get nicer, more professional people.

I grew up on Mike’s Pizza. I absolutely love it! But i can never get over the wait time. I try to even calculate how long it really will take if i wait a little longer and even that doesn’t come out great for me. Thats really the only problem i have and well the parking. i can never find a parking spot when its really busy. will continue to order from Mike’s and will continue to wait longer than i should for pizza because it’s totally worth it.

My family and I have been eating this pizza for years! It’s better to pick it up but the lines are ridiculous, I usually order like an hour and a half ahead just because their delivery time is also long BUT worth the wait. My favorite thin crust pizza, it’s even better for left overs if you put it in the oven.

Came to pickup pizza with family, long line and the wait time is extremely long, the area is not Appealing at all it’s located 20 feet from houses and in my opinion is ridiculous, as for the pizza… It’s decent.

I love their pizza and the prices, I choose this place over any other pizza place in town, it’s a small place but if you live in the neighborhood you should already know this, costumer service isn’t the greatest, they are always busy, sometimes they are late with orders & it sucks, so always be sure you have time and order ahead. It has saved me from frustration waiting in line. Nonetheless the first bite is delightful.

The Pizza is good for the price and but the wait is pathetic and because that they have more business and that they can handle. It has been that way for the past 10 Years. One time I ordered a pizza there and it took 45 minutes for the driver to get there and I told my friend that tell the driver I don’t want the pizza and my friend told the driver that. Then I started to go to the Mike’s in Gurnee, IL and I think that the Mike’s in Gurnee is better and than the one in Waukegan, IL. Yesterday I ordered a Pizza there and the lady told me it’s going to be 45 minutes and that is too damn long to wait for a pizza and when you are hungry and you just want to eat and not wait that long for a Pizza. Then I got there 8 minutes after the time they said it’s going to be ready and she oh it’s going to be another 15 minutes and I told her you said it’s going to be 45 minutes and then I waited patiently and then I told her I want my Pizza and she said oh it’s not ready then I had to wait for another 10 minutes and I had to wait 1hr. 18 minutes for a pizza and that is total fucking bullshit. Because I should get free and they said it’s going be done a certain time and when it’s not ready for a certain and when I have to wait longer and it should be for free and because I am a fair minded person. It does not matter where you go for a pizza a pizza does not take 45 minutes and that is a joke. A pizza should take no more than 20 minutes. The service terrible and just like the wait and that is not the way you run a business.

I used to love Mike’s when I was younger, due to the fact that it was relatively affordable, and the quality was just a touch above the average chain restaurant. I was a loyal customer for quite a while until I recently ordered. Mind you i’ve tried many different kinds of pizza, from Wisconsin, to California, to the Chicago area. It just isn’t the same stuff I used to have as a teen growing up in Waukegan. The quality of the pizza has gone down, and I can imagine due to the demand. The location also remains unchanged, and not for the better. Crowding is quite common, and the number of disgruntled customers is just not worth putting up with. One guy once went through the front door just to complain at the employees, which is a huge red flag for me, and could have become dangerous really quickly. Just not worth having to put up with all the garbage. And the wait is horrendous as well, and there is an obvious lack of organization here. C’mon Mike’s!

I would consider myself a pizza addict… so with that being said, this place trumphs places I have reviews in the past when it comes to thin crust! Being a city girl, I am used to some good greasy thin crust from places like Italian Fiesta and Phil’s. This thin crust PERFECTION! the perfect crunch and right amount of grease, that tastes delicious when reheated in the way oven as leftovers! I think the bonus is the size you get for the price! I am partial to cheese while my boyfriend enjoys more eclectic toppings, and for the price of 1 medium pizza anywhere else you can get 2LARGE pizzas! Trust me, with the way we eat we eat need our own! Must be the crazy work out a we do? As for the wait, we always call ahead and when we arrive it is ready to go, fresh out of the oven. We tend to nom this grindage on the weekends and order during what would be considered the rush time, so far so good! Definitely the sort of «hole in the wall» kind of place that you should try, especially if youbdig cracker thin thin crust pizza!

Pizza is great BUT… We ordered on a Friday night and were well aware they would be slammed. They told us and hour, we also know that their waiting area is small. On a cold February night in Waukegan with a packed like sardine waiting area is super bad! People were hungry, upset and crammed. We waited our hour plus another 30 minutes. One of the worst things is the system they got the pizzas out. All these people in some bizarre line and then they started calling out names of the people who’s pizzas were ready. Which also meant they got out of line got in front of others to pay. This did not seem fair, it was unorganized and everyone was pissed being there. The pizza, well that’s the only reason to enter into the chaotic endless pit of despair.

So we came here because everyone was stating how good the pizza is here and how low the prices are. The prices are good but i guess you get whay you pay for. The pizza presentation was beautiful. The Supreme was loaded with meat and veggies. The pizza may have had a good flavor but maybe the fact that there was grease pouring out of it disrupted something that could have been great. If you don’t mind eating a bottle of oil with your pizza this is your place. Maybe I came on the wrong night but I will pass on Mike’s. Dave L., thanks for the feedback but in fact I’ve seen plenty of pizza places that have the same ingredients but don’t pour on the oil. When oil overtakes the flavor you might want to look at altering your recipe. If this is the logic behind serving bottles of oil because you soak the peppers in olive oil then so be it. Wish you guys all the best in your future endeavors but your restaurant is not one that we choose to frequent. Again thanks for the delayed explanation to explain your grease soaked pizza
