Good coffee, and the acai bowl is a great way to start the morning.

The coffee, espresso drinks, and food are all excellent. The atmosphere is welcoming and the service is good. It’s also located in a historic old building in downtown Waukesha. I’ve only been there during the morning, but they have musicians perform on most evenings. I would bump my rating to 5 stars if they would add their milk alternatives and cost to the menu and charge a more reasonable markup.(I believe the markup is currently $ 2, compared with $.60 to $.80 to most other coffee shops I’ve been to.)

The food — not so good. However, the drinks are great! It really depends what you come here for. I definitely appreciate the gluten free pastries they order in though. The atmosphere is nice too.

Quaint atmosphere and hospitable service! This was my first time going to the Steaming Cup, but it won’t be my last! I ordered the«cranberry bog» sandwich and it was delicious. The food took about 10 – 15 minutes to arrive at our table. The food was high quality and at a reasonable price as well.

Steaming beverages with warm hospitality. This not so little coffee shop is a delight in this town. The space is inviting with lots of seating options in front and a whole other room in the back down the hallway. From tables to comfy chairs and couches you pick. The coffee is good too with awesome service including folks who come out behind the counter to take your order quickly on their iPads. Sweet! And speaking of sweets the case of goodies is divine along with a unique selection of sandwiches and salads. So if you just want a cup of joe or a light breakfast or lunch visit this casual but cool place. Oh and check out all the inspirational sayings on the wall for a new mantram to try.

The Steaming Cup is a wonderful space and I feel they utilize it well. The front room is large and good for meeting with a small group of friends for coffee or a meal. If you are looking for a more quiet space for you and another, or simply just for you, their«back room» is good for that. I enjoy that it is far from the hustle and bustle in the front, I feel like a secret ninja each time I wander back to find a private table.

The Steaming Cup has been a solid spot for many years in downtown Waukesha. It recently gained new ownership and with that, a new style and vibrancy. The space has been transformed to feel more open, with a few couches and live music — something many other downtown restaurants are also trying to compete with. The coffee, whether specialty or the flavored roast of the day, is always good and served with a smile. I just recently had the Thai Wrap with a great peanut sauce. I can definitely say it’s a good spot for lunch and the tip is to try their fresh potato salad and their take on homemade pickles that come with most plates.

Nothing helps you fight the urge to curl up back in bed and tell the world to go kick rocks than pouring massive amounts of coffee into your face. I don’t think I could make it through the day if I didn’t have coffee in my life. I don’t think I’d want to make it through the day without coffee. Steaming Cup is one of the best places to get your coffee fix. I’ve only made a couple visits so far, but I see many more in my future. Like many more. Like a lot. Every time I go here it’s pretty packed and I can see why. This place is great! It’s inviting, the staff is always chipper and friendly, and the menu is insane. I haven’t tried any of their food yet(it looks tasty as all get out though) but their beverages are where it’s at. Now I’m mainly a straight coffee kind of gal but their specialty drinks can lure anybody in like the best of sirens. I mean come on honey latte, lavender chai, whaaaaat?! Rocket fuel?! Did they look inside my soul and make a drink to compliment it?! I think so. Even their regular coffee is scrumptious. Smooth and strong as it should be. So if you’re looking to feel like a human again, come to Steaming Cup, insert coffee and food into your mouth and then go take on the world like the baby star that you are.

I have been here half dozen times and every time I come here I always ask myself why I don’t come here more often. They have expanded since the last time I was here and now have a back room for more seating. A great place to hang out, relax, talk or listen to music(in the summer for Friday Night Live). A café with charm, eclectic flair and really good service. Atmosphere: welcoming, artsy, eclectic, young and old, and noise level is low for a café! Background music on low enough to enjoy but still talk. Food and drinks: I’ve had their sandwiches, salads and pastries. All very good. Nice portions for the price. Carmella latte is my favorite coffee. Not the strong Starbucks flavor but very good. Location: in the heart of downtown Waukesha. Difficult to navigate down there if you aren’t from there and limited parking but nice shops and art shops everywhere. Outdoor seating in the summer Misc: to continue the art theme they support the music scene and Friday Night Live during the summer. Service: top notch service. Friendly efficient and welcoming. The line was getting long so the sent a mobile cashier on an iPad to take orders. Wonderful! My wife ordered a chai latte but forgot to get it with soy and they replaced it no charge even though we said it was our mistake not ordering it correctly. That is service. Again, why don’t we come here more often? I encourage you to stop in and check it out. To add: their coffee is from a roaster in Minneapolis called Up.

I had the opportunity to eat at this charming and wonderful little coffee shop a couple times in a weekend. Each time I was there was really nice. The lavender chai was tasty but I really enjoyed the honey latte a bit more. The food was delicious and satisfied my hunger both times. The first time around I ordered the grilled cheese with bacon. I was surprised by how much bacon was in the sandwich and was smiling all the way through(yes, I love my bacon). Jack, Muenster, and cheddar cheese were all in the sandwich as well as a tomato. You have a few options for the side dish. I chose the homemade potato salad. I do wish the cup that the side is served in is larger. I will note that the atmosphere and service was very casual and low key, but it was professional and I welcomed the smiling faces of the personnel working on staff. I chose to sit in the back room which had a large sofa with some lounge chairs. There were a few tables and chairs at different heights, and a nice view outside to people watch. The lighting wasn’t too great but it did set a softer and quieter mood than what I had experienced when I walked into the entrance. The second time I went there, I decided to sit in the front of the café. It wasn’t too loud to be discerning and the whole area was filled with families and friends. Many people knew the staff and it gave off a comfy vibe. The service was quick and the staff, once again was very friendly and courteous. I was very happy to receive and dig into my bacon sammy. I received a small cup of fruit with the sandwich, but again I did wish the side was larger. It was very tasty! I thoroughly enjoyed both my times here. I should mention that live music also happens here, which is more than welcome to me. I will note that prices are fair too. I hope to return again and try another item on the menu!

Love the beverages, the food and the ambience here! I have visited on multiple Saturdays. I find it very lively, full of positive energy and a great gathering place with friends and family. The staff is very busy, but their competence keeps things in order. They sometimes get overwhelmed and misplace things, but they make up for it with their prompt correction and profuse apologies. Definitely a gem in the Waukesha area. With places like this there is still hope for non-Starbucks coffee shops!

New menu as of November 2, 2015 Jason just killed it… The new menu hits on every note. Great new flavors paired together perfectly. Everything is thought out with purpose and executed only the way a chef and team of Jason and Cristina Tofte’s caliber could. Just excellent!

Absolutely love this coffee shop! They know how to make some great coffee, the service is always fast, and it is just a nice place and sit and get some work done while sipping on some coffee. They have a back seating area and outdoor seating that is awesome too! I can’t say enough good things about this place! Oh yeah, the food is great too, so don’t feel like you have to just go for the coffee. Highly recommend if you are in Waukesha!

I like what changes they made to some of the décor. The new owners downsized the menu adding more salads, but minimized the sandwiches. The new sandwich menu gives some variety in the way way of meat vs. Veggie, but not really great choices of either. Salads look great, but if you want to add meat to it, your paying $ 2.75 extra. I probably won’t come here as much for lunch as I used to, but coffee is still great and they make their cappuccino the right way!

I’ve already been here twice in the past week. Their coffee, bakery, and food is amazing. They told me new owners took over earlier this month and have been making minor changes like making the counter longer, updating the look of the menu, and using square registers. There is lots of seating and good atmosphere. Another thing they offer are Belly rewards which works through an app on your phone. I will be bringing all of my out of town friends here.

Today, was my first time here. I tell you, this coffee was really good! The people here were super friendly & very welcoming. I didn’t know what a coffee smoothie was, so they told me what it was & I could add flavoring to it. I decided to get a caramel mocha, this was really good! It tasted good but, I wish it had a tad bit more flavor to it. This place also is very clean!

This was my first time at The Steaming Cup. What a terrific location on a cozy corner in downtown Waukesha. The shop is comfortable, sunny and welcoming. I ordered a medium mocha. Payments are handled with the Square dealy you see all over now(still getting used to signing with my finger). If you’re sticking around, you get a little number and your drink(in a classic mug) whisked to your table … nice. The person who took my order and made my drink was super friendly. There are tables, booths, and those nifty tables that look out the window. The coffee was excellent! By the way, I noticed they have a huge selection of teas and some yummy sounding sandwiches. I’m confident I’ll be back next time I’m in the neighborhood.

This place is a great perfect breakfast spot in town. They have such a wonder variety of food options, deserts, coffee and tea! They have a wall of what spears to be 50+ types of tea. A cup of coffee was needed this morning, but would love to return and try some tea. I started with the steel cut oatmeal, but with out the sugar. I did get the wip, which was the first time I have tried it this way and loved it. The coffee was on point! I also had the trail mix scone. They offer to warm up the pastries, which is wonderful. I ate up the scone with such delight! They really do a great job of thinking about all the details; warming up the scones and letting us know about their coffee specials. I sat here to work a little and around 9am the place was packed and it was a Wednesday. It was great to see a lot of people love this place.

Waukesha doesn’t have many good places to go for a good sandwich and a good cup of coffee, so I will say that food-wise this place is really good. Which pains me to say because the service here is the absolute WORST and out of saving my sanity, I will never come back. 2 years ago, I came in for a cup of coffee, which was delivered to me with a handful of sass when I asked for soy milk instead of skim. I blew this off. Last year, I ordered their mozzarella wrap to go around 2:00pm, when maybe two other orders were placed. After 30 minutes of waiting, I asked the same guy barista, about how much longer to wait and he replied«It’s ready when it’s ready». WTF kind of answer is that? I actually asked for a refund because I couldn’t wait any longer for the wrap due to an appointment. Yesterday, though, took the cake. I arrived in Waukesha for a tattoo appointment and decided to grab some food beforehand. Store closes at 5:00pm, I came in at 4:30pm for a mozzarella wrap. The same guy barista was there. After berating the lady in front of me for wanting more whipped cream for her mocha, it was my turn to feel his frustration. I politely asked for mozzarella wrap to go and the barista rolls his eyes, throws me the BIGGEST amount of shade I have EVER witnessed, sighs, and then says«fine, but just so you know, our kitchen closes 30 minutes before our café». I couldn’t even believe it. Nowhere does it say this, btw, but I told him that all he had to do was nicely say that, and not give me so much attitude. I would have accepted that the kitchen was closed if he was nice. Instead of apologizing, he just yells at me that he wasn’t doing anything wrong and then got defensive when I left. I know it sucks if a customer comes in late, but I didn’t know it was too late to order food and would have been fine with coffee and something from the bakery if that was my only option. I couldn’t have been treated worse and has ruined this café for me completely.
