I love me new home! They are amazing builders that helped myself and my husband build our dream ranch home. If you want to see some examples they have Beautiful houses every year in the parade of homes and model homes you can go through and view.

We just wanted to say thank you Acker Builders for going above and beyond our expectations. No one else would have even thought about doing what you did! We will definitely recommend you to everyone we know. Thank you again for such great service!

Acker Builders knows what they’re doing, and they do it extremely well. If you’re thinking about builders in/​around Waunakee, look no further!
Even before this review, I’ve already recommended Acker to friends who are thinking about building and/​or who asked about my building experience.
My review will be lengthy, so I will divide it into sections.
BUILDING EXPERIENCE:
Our experience with Acker Builders began in summer 2014. My husband and I went to the Madison Parade of Homes at Kilkenny Farms and toured Acker Builders’ parade home as well as several other builders’ parade homes. After the parade, I sent an email inquiry to Acker Builders. Jenny Acker was very thorough in her response, and we set up a meeting. She was also very professional and detailed during our initial in-​person consultation, and we were impressed, so we moved forward!
Jenny and all of the staff at Acker Builders were wonderful during the building process. If we had questions, concerns, changes, or just some thoughts/​brainstorming, we were able to very easily contact someone at Acker Builders and get an answer quickly. The «door was always open» when it came to contacting Acker Builders. I actually felt like my husband and I were the one and only clients of Acker Builders; we knew this was not the case — they just treat clients extremely well!
We worked with Acker Builders’ interior designer Jennie Herbrand with our selections for exterior stone, garage door styles, cabinets and counters, flooring and carpeting, lighting fixtures, and the list goes on. Jennie was full of suggestions and information, and we now have an incredibly beautiful home with transitional décor, thanks to her!
POST-​BUILDING EXPERIENCE:
Acker Builders does not «disappear» after the home is finished. During our first week at home, for example, we noticed some water on the floor by our washing machine on a Thursday night. Friday morning at 7:00 a.m., Joey was at our house, ready to fix the problem. The open communication is still there with Acker Builders even after the client moves in and the home is finished.
«WORD ON THE STREET»:
At our initial meeting, Acker Builders gave us a list of references with about 10 – 12 homeowners. Instead of contacting those references, we drove around various neighborhoods where we knew Acker Builders had built homes. We found people walking their dogs or doing yardwork and struck up conversations with them about builders in/​around the Waunakee area. Out of all of these homeowners/​complete strangers we talked to about their homes and/​or what they knew about local builders, every single one of them had positive things to say about Acker Builders.
SUMMARY:
As stated earlier, throughout the whole process, we’ve had a great experience with Acker Builders. Acker Builders is really on the ball and have their ducks in a row. We are very happy with our home, and we had a great experience working with Acker Builders. When you choose Acker Builders, you won’t regret your decision!
