Best Handyman

Sheldon just put up 3 cabinets, after building them, and also built my kitchen table– including finding new screws and bolts. He was on time, friendly, clean and funny! Told me a lot about living in MILWAUKEE and told me to call his cell if I need any more help. Worth every penny I spent!

I have 2 rentals and always use this guy. I have yet to run into a project that he could not take care of. He has done doors, flashing, gutters, etc and is always efficient, honest and friendly… which is rare in that business. I highly recommend. Can’t go wrong.

I take half responsibility for being taken by Best Handyman for $ 600. I got a quote back in November, life got busy, bad winter didn’t allow for outside projects. I got a quote this Spring from Sheldon and it was double the price. I get it — supply and demand. I’m on a deadline to get our home projects complete, I didn’t quote it with anyone else. I needed it done and thought if he does a great job it’s worth the cost.
He arrives and completes four projects in an hour and a half. He’s RUSHING through them. Not asking me questions, not asking for feedback. He does a HACK job on my door jamb and closet and I’m on the hook for $ 600 plus materials. My wife sees the hack job we received and speaks with him. He calls the next day and offers to try to make it right. No call. No show. BUYER BEWARE. I will give Sheldon credit for doing a nice job replacing our storm door.
Where I went wrong: Obviously I should have had it quoted by other contractors. I should have known that someone who has to run in the local coupon mailers are doing that for a reason. I trusted the Better Business Bureau logo in the ad and a few online reviews. NEVER AGAIN. The really talented carpenters don’t run coupons because they get REFERRALS from doing business the right way.

I have been working with Sheldon exclusively for about 6 years. He assists me with a variety of challenging older buildings with unique characteristics as well as my own home. Sheldon and his crew are one time, do an exceptional clean up job and provide excellent workmanship. There’s a reason why I’ve been doing business with Sheldon this long! Quality. Honesty. Value. Sheldon was great. Unlike the other handymen I got quotes from he showed up on time for the estimate. He was super helpful. He came up with a solution for our new balcony and offered some great suggestions for new exterior doors. He also picked up all the supplies, and got the job done in the scheduled time.
